Really?  And why would continuation 'fics have any more or less
"point" than any other kind of 'fic?

Allow me to supply you some material to rebut.

The point of stories is to entertain and to provoke thought.
It is my opinion that there is *nothing* inherently about
continuation 'fics which precludes either of these aims.

If someone writes a story, he or she often has some point in
mind that he or she specifically wishes to make.  A "continuation"
'fic is nothing more than a 'fic that happens to have its starting
point at the end of the manga or anime.  Pray tell, how is that
any different to a story that has its starting point at, say, the
end of Chapter 2 of Volume 33 of the manga?

A critic should have an open but critical mind.  What makes him
or her a critic is a willingness to apply a broad range of 
experience using his or her critical faculties to whatever he or 
she is evaluating.  It may be that you are expressing yourself 
poorly, but to me you sound like a narrow-minded bigot.  Please 
excuse me if I think the less of you for that.
