Yes. I use vi. I always use vi for anything that has anything to do with
my web page.
Downloading things to my computer, editing them, uploading them, getting
rid of all the ^M characters, etc, is rather tedious.
FYI there is a DOS and win32 command prompt version of VI. (Still
waiting to get around to compile pico for win32). Also if you have win
3.1 or win32 there is a great program for text editing called PFE. It
handles the dos/unix text file conversion with no problem and gives you
your potions at save time. I use it here all the time for editing files
on Sun systems via NFS.

Since you said that, I went looking. I got a nice version of VIM for use
on my work Windoze machine... I love the message it says when it starts:

WARNING: Windows 95 detected.

^_^

Also see if dos2unix is installed on your Unix system. It cleans up all
the ^M's for you automatically. Also you can use unix2dos to go the other
way

Well, I already know the vi command to get rid of them off by heart:

:%s/^V^M//g

That works nicely. ^_~

Hey, does anyone know how to set up a mirror thing? I've got two sites
(web pages), and every time I edit a file, I have to ftp it over by hand.
No-one that I speak to knows how to make a mirror thingy that ftps
automatically.

Can anyone help??
