Perhaps all that's needed is another scene before the
change, when she makes some more justice-without-mercy decisions and gets
appalled at the results<<

She won't be appalled if she can't feel any emotion. But making such a
decision would cause friction between her and her sisters, especially after
all they've been through. How could Skuld accept this heartless goddess who
is half her sister? How would Verthandi react to that? If she no longer
cares about Keiichi, she probably doesn't care much about her sisters
anymore. Yes, working through this approach would help too.
I really recommend this approach.
Have Skuld shout things like:
"How could you do that?"
"You're not my sister!"
"Bring my sister back!"
and tracking how Verthandi responds would do the trick.

Verthandi isn't totally emotionless. After all, the link works two
ways. Perhaps, though, it would be a good idea for something to happen
to show Verthandi that there are situations her new and "improved"
personality can't handle.

Um, to be honest, that's why we wrote the Verthandi's tear scene
before the whole situation.

It's subtle, and we like subtle. We don't need or want to club anyone
over the head with "SEE! SEE! VERTHANDI HAS EMOTIONS!"

And like it or not, this story HAS to be subtle and subdued, not loud
and obvious. Got any suggestions more subtle than "Wow, I can't
handle this!" scenes?
