That's not true.  In the penultimate story, Akane cooks at Ukyou's
resturant, and her cooking makes three customers sick.

	If you take a master chef from an Italian restraunt and had him
cook Indian food, I doubt it would be better than mediocre.  In that
line of thought, Akane probably became competant in cooking a few dishes
to start with, but okonomiyaki probably wasn't one of them.  
	Akane is improving as a cook as indicated by the Ryugenzawa /
Shinnosuke story arc.  As shown by the story you're referring to, she
hasn't become a wonderful cook yet.  There's a wide range of competancy
in between.  
	Err...  This is a character debate, isn't it...  Oops.
