Why would they hate it? Alternate realities are starting
to be done all the time now, and rather popular.
That was somewhat tongue in cheek. We've been shouting that NXE is *NOT*
the same world as NGE since day one, and most of the complaints are still
of the "But that's not how it was done in the original" variety. "Hey,
why did you change X?! You're ruining Eva!"
Personally I tend to like alter-verse work.
I sense a little bitterness aimed towards
the purists that gripe at NXE....
Not really bitterness, more of a playful swipe. For Eris' sake, it is FANFIC,
not world peace. I take it seriously in that I strive to tell a good story
and write well, but not so seriously I'm going to get bent over negative
comments per se. Now, willful harrassment in the guise of negative comments,
yes, that pisses me off.
