Ranma, from what I have seen, was intentionally made by Takahashi to be
 nearly the exact opposite of Ataru. Note that Ataru is sneaky, devious,
 without shame, and an unpopular, skirt-chasing lecher, while Ranma is
 honorable, good-hearted, and has all of the girls chasing *him*, despite
 the fact that he doesn't want them. This is why I need some help with
 these two parts. Any ideas?

      ::wince::

      No, no! It's not because of the story idea.

      The *LAST* thing I want to get into is a character debate (especially
with all the... um, 'stuff'... flying around the FFML for the last several
days), but I just wanted to point out that Ranma does have his faults while
Ataru has his good points (however deeply buried). ^_^; In his own weird
sort of way, I always got the impression that Ataru is rather good-hearted.

       Please don't misunderstand me. I really like Ranma and I think he has
more good points than some people give him credit for. However, keep in mind
that everyone has their 'bad' points, too. That's what makes characters
interesting for me at least. And this doesn't apply to only just Ranma 1/2
characters, but also applies to any anime series (although in Neon Genesis
Evangelion, the characters are already so 'ambiguous'... ::sigh::)

       This is just my personal opinion, of course. I've always had problems
with what I consider extremely 'positive' and extremely 'negative' character
depictions.  ^_^;;;;;

        Hmm.... I think I'll slither back into my hole before someone decides
to step on me.....
