A few words to Gaijin:

While I don't really have anything to say about your reviews, as 
they're perfectly valid, I do have a little comment on your standards 
of review.

(Note: this is a personal opinion, and you shouldn't have to take >this 

into account, but I'll say it anyway.)

Your standards of review are WAY too strict. I read those stories you 
mentioned, and I think they're pretty much standard of the kind of 
literature you're going to find in the anime fanfic world. Keeping 
that in mind, I think you should lower your standards a little. None 
of those stories got higher than fifteen points, less than half of >the 

total possible points. This says a little about what I think.

All in all, you did some pretty good criticism. I'd get about 33% by 
your standards if I ever submitted a fic to you. Keep it up, but be a 
little bit easier on your grading. You going to be a teacher someday?

To be honest, that's not a very convincing argument... now, if you were 
to argue that said fics deserved a better scoring (if, for some reason 
he were to shortchange someone due to some reason or another), that 
would be a valid point. But a steep grading scale is, objectively, much 
better than a lenient one. If he gave three-of-five or four-of-five to 
EVERYBODY, it wouldn't mean a lot (and would be significant when the 
next Oscarfic got a single half-star. ;p) As it is, a really good work 
will get a really good score. He said before that 20 is great, right? 
That leaves a lot of room to differentiate between various levels of 
"greatness".

That said, I will comment that repeating this grading scale (or at least 
the numbers behind it) would be a good idea, each time a review is 
posted. After all, 14-of-30 does sound like crap if you're used to the 
American grading system.
