HMm... just out of curiosity, but the impression I get is that Ranma
would defend people in need of help. What makes you think that he
would let someone get beaten up that badly before helping? He'd
more likely try to prevent the person from getting injured in the
first place or at a sign of danger. That would be my view of him.

As for Akane, whether she's incapable or not, I believe, is
irrelevant. Why? Because Nabiki is her sister. She will do what she
can to protect her sister. Whether or not she can actually do anything
useful other than fight a possibly losing battle is up to writers to
detail, but my impression is that she will try even if it means that
she takes the blows instead of her sister.

Neither Ranma nor Pantyhose Tarou is likely to save Nabiki, the way they 
saved Akane from Shampoo.

I don't know about PT, but Ranma would. He might let Kuno take a
beating though. ^_-

Ryouga has beaten the snot out of girls and hurled huge boulders at 
little kids.  What makes you think Nabiki can't push him too far?

Hmm..? When did this happen? :) For some reason, I really can't see
him do something like beating up girls... or do you mean a female
fighter as opposed to a regular girl?

As for Nabiki not able to push Ryouga too far, ever notice how Ryouga
respects all of the Tendou family? I mean, he's almost docile with
them. The exceptions are Ranma and Genma, but the Tendous are almost
like they are off limits. This probably has alot to do with his
feelings for Akane though.

*smiles* Anyways, just my two cents. I just can't personally believe
that Ranma's sense of honour would let him see or know Nabiki getting
beaten without trying to save her. Even if Nabiki does make use of him
and manipulate him, I don't believe he would be able to live with
himself if he let her get trashed like that. As for Ryouga, it seems
to me like he is more willing to hurt himself or to distance himself
than hurt the one he cares for or those that she cares for.
