The Kingdom of Nisus was once the single most powerful kingdom that
existed. Their technology was beyond that of the others. They were
feared, not only for their superior firepower, but for their savage
nature. However, corruption plagued their ruling body. He who had more
money had a higher position in their hierarchy. The king ruled using
fear. Disgruntled, many formed a rebellion. They lost in less than a
month, their leaders decapitated in public. Others chose a new path,
they set on voyages to find new land to dwell upon. One such group was
led by a man named Duncan. He successfully founded a new kingdom in a
neighboring continent. News of the new kingdom reached the ruling body
of Nisus. The king, fearing that a new kingdom may result in their
downfall, since, this new kingdom has their technology and maybe the
allegiance of other small kingdoms. The king ordered that this new
formed kingdom be dealt with before it becomes a nuisance. The king's
troops, unfamiliar with the terrain, fought a losing war. The king,
unfazed, had a backup plan. He sent a few soldiers and colonists to
another part of the continent. There they set up another colony, a
colony directly under the crown. After ten generations, the new colony
became a full-grown duchy under the crown. The current king, Archibald
relocated to his new capital, Skullkeep. Ten years ago, they succeeded
in taking over Haven. Haven was retaken, and he wants it. And he'll get
it by any means necessary.

Chapter III
Skullkeep. Morning.
A man in his late twenties clad in an obsidian armor confidently
walked to the center of the throne room. He knelt before the king before
uttering: "Father, I have fulfilled your wishes, what shall I do with
the prisoner?"
"You are such a great man, my son. Devising such fiendish plots to
obey me. As for our prisoner, I have ordered that she'll be guarded at
all times by at least two guards."
"Father, please forgive me for asking, but, why should we keep
their princess as prisoner, when we have superior forces to run them over
in one sweep."
"You don't understand, son - Haven's defenses are quite remarkable,
though not as par as ours, but still quite remarkable. And even though
we already have three aces, a fourth one wouldn't hurt, would it? And
there is something about her that boggles me."
"What is it?"
"News of her existence only surfaced about nine years ago, and she
looks like she's in her late twenties. She was hidden for about twenty
years - that is not normal."
From the shadows came out a cloaked figure, the only thing visible
was two skeletal hands jutting out from the creases of his black cloak.
"What is it you want, old bag?"
"Sire, I have a matter of great urgency to report to you."
"If it is that important, then, speak, and then get out of my
sight."
"Sire, the king of Hungerford had just formed a group to search for
the legendary twin blades of Freudig. They just left a few hours ago."
"But those swords don't exist, they're just myths," interjected
Malcolm.
"But myths come from something that actually existed."
The king slowly stood up and slowly walked around the room.
"Son, you know what to do."
"Yes, father."
Malcolm slowly walked out of the room.
"And you," pointing to the cloaked figure, "go back to Haven and
keep me informed."
In some other part of the castle.
The image of the princess was forever imprinted in Prince Malcolm's
mind. When he first saw her, his heart seemed to have skipped a beat.
That couldn't be, for he was a fighter, and he mustn't show any sign of
weakness. He was ordered to set out as early as possible, but, he wanted
to talk to princess first and make sure she was all right. He then
stopped at a door guarded by two armored men. The men quickly saluted.
"Guards, open the door."
"Yes, milord."
He slowly opened the door to see the princess at the window,
staring at the sky, in deep thought.
"A gold piece for your thoughts."
The princess was startled by the sudden appearance of her abductor.
"What are you doing here? First, you drug me, then take me away,
then lock me in this room."
"I did what I was told to do."
"So, you're just a puppet - where are your strings?"
"I am not a puppet, I only did what my father the king told me. It
is my duty as heir to the throne to hold a reputation greater than or
equal to that of my father."
With a surprised look, the princess said.
"You're the prince. You don't look like your father."
"And so do you."
Silence.
"Your name is Daisy, isn't it."
"And what is it to you."
"Beautiful and fierce, I like that combination. Your name fits
your appearance. You look so fresh and smell so sweet."
"Why do you keep me captive?"
"Don't think yourself as a prisoner, think yourself as a guest who
is not allowed to go out of her room. You'll like it here."
"Get out!"
"Your wish is my command."
