The Real End of Evangelion.
Part 2.

The explosion had blown the Dirty Pair into another large room.  It
was not an easy task fighting humanoid-shaped mecha that were bigger
that you are by an order of magnitude.

Kei and Yuri were glad that this room had a shallow pool of water
as it helped cushion their landing.  But Yuri hit the base of a
structure
that had been erected in the center of the room.

Kei got up in the two to three feet of water and immediately looked in
the direction of the door where they got blown into the room and saw
that nothing was coming through.  It was quite fortunate they got the
door open before the force of the blast reached them.

She then looked at where Yuri had landed and noted that she was also
getting up.  Kei then looked around in the room in detail.

The first thing she noted that this room was huge-- like some of the
the other rooms in this underground installation.  But unlike the
other rooms it had this weird structure in the middle.

It was a cross that had something shaped like a man hung upon it.  It
was just as large as the machines they were fighting.  The face had
a mask with whole bunch of eyes and it was missing its legs.

The bottom of the humanoid was a little over a foot above the water.

Yuri got on her feet in the shallow water and tried to look at the
structure from where she had landed and asked "What's this?".

At which point she decided that the impact of her landing had taken
too much out of her and she needed to take rest or at least take a
breather and lean on something.  

The Lovely Angel then put her arm straight out and rested her hand on
the first Angel...
