Nabiki's Lover sighs, rubs his teary eyes (passive matrix on an old LCD
screen) and feels both deception and adrenaline run into his veins.
I am a suscriber since about one year here. I only sent one shortfic
posting, and I made a mistake that blew off about everything that could
be good about it. I know what I did. I assume it, and I still hope to do
better next time if the climatic conditions allow me to.
I am not (yet?) what I call a real fanfic writer, far from it.
So usually, I read, shut up and learn about people posting fics and c&c
in here. Even if it doesn't make me a best-seller writer, it really
improves my english. Ths said, let's pin the puppet on the trunk of the
tree.
Or maybe under the bridge.
I will not join the debate about "self-insert are crap or not", or even
give my opininon on the C&C the Guy made about any specifical fic. So
this is pure spam and I'll probably be sent for a few centuries in Hell
for that. Who cares...
All this is about responsible human behaviour.
Not only things have been too far in this "GUTB war", with lot of spam
like this message, but anyway, out of ANY fanfic consideration, I'm
really deceived.
The FFML is the only ML I keep reading regularly from the first to the
last message every morning. Some fics I like, some I don't. Something I
always liked in here is that people keep being constructive most of the
time, and polite all the time, except some rare hiatus resulting from
short losses of reason like us, stressed humans with bloodshot eyes, are
experiencing when we spend too much time in front of the screen.
Then comes a guy. He build a bridge (on what river?) and then hides
under it. From this strategical position, he aims at innocent fanfic
writers and shoot them with a 30/30mm Vulcan. Not really surgical
strikes...
Shall his comments be constructive or not is not even the point to me,
as a fanfic reader and (I hope so) soon writer. The point is that this
attitude of him is insulting. no less, no more. Insulting for the
writers, but also insulting for readers.
Question for all the readers in here: do you LIKE to see comments like
"already done", "horribly OOC" or those kinds of thing polluting the
list? Well, It makes me think about the guys sitting in the front row in
a movie theater, throwin' popcorn and empty cans on the screen.
Not only the screen is dirty after that, but both the stains and the
noise are disturbing to other people sitting in the theater.
Not the kind of comment I expect from someone calling himself a
supergenius.
I don't even know one irresponsible kid in my class (yeah, am a teacher)
who would behave like that. And they're quite young.
Whata bout education and politeness? What about respecting the others?
Didn't your friends and family tell you how it's rude handling
communication like you do?
We mostly read and write in here about japanese characters.
Japanese people are famous for their sense of etiquette and the strong
involvement of politenesse and respectful behaviour in their daily life.
Same thing for the anime characters born from this culture.
Too bad you can't be as polite as our favourite characters. They may
mallett, kameha-ize or happo-go-en-ize each other, but they bow first
and they do not take other people for dead meat.
Too bad you can't just be as responsible as IMAGINARY characters are.
Knowing how much Ranma himself is responsible, it gives a hint about how
much you can be...
Guy under the bridge, I won't give you bird names, I won't tell you to
shut up. You're enjoying the noise you're making far too much for that
any comment can stop you. Actually, I think it may even encourage you if
I was as impolite as you.
Thing is we don't speak the same language. Same religion maybe, but
surely not the same church.
You are the Guy under the Bridge?
Okay. Be nice and do this:
Stay under the bridge and don't harrass those who are crossing the
river. If you don't, you'll find out one day how it feels when people
prefer to take the detour.
This said, I still hope (nave that I am) to see you change your
style in C&C.
Oh, by the way: have a nice day.
Now, if our omnipresent (and thaks he is) Tybalt-kun wants to nuke me
for this, I'll assume my responsibilities. Still I wonder if I deserve
it. I've seen some comments about mean postings in here that make mine
look like the opening digest of Totoro.
