Well, I do know that Carnations are Mother Tendo's favorite flower
(Akane mentions this in the last two Ranma 1/2 TV episodes...and
probably the manga that the episodes are based on...but don't have that
info in front of me). I don't know if their is a Japanese name for
Carnations since Akane used the english word.

I used Hanaki for my Mother Tendo name.    Hana=flower ki=spirit. 
It also became Hanaki Ono's name for CMD (she was named after Kasumi's
mom).
