Anyone who has this kind of question can go to http://anipike.com/ and 
look under Ranma 1/2 for the Ranma 1/2 FAQ.  Ranma and Sailor Moon are 
not obscure series and the answer to these questions are readily 
available.  If you can't find it there, I suggest you go to 
alt.fan.r-takahashi (which could use the traffic) or rec.arts.anime.misc 
which has been a marvellous resource for answers for me about 
Supernatural Beast City and has many more readers than the ffml.  

And remember:  Akane means "violent maniac" and Ryoga means "bite me".
