dragging him toward the school.

Kunou doesn't wear a gi (in fact, none of the characters do), he wears a 
hakama and kimono.

I may be mistaken, but I believe kendo uses the same dress as aikido:
the hakama and uwagi (the "jacket" of a gi).  The uwagi is often
referred to as gi.

(And, as long as we're clarifying, several other characters do wear
gi... just not as their normal clothing.  Mostly.)
