Mousse's New Glasses

A Ranma 1/2 fanfic by Mark Ferrer

Disclaimer: None of these characters are mine. I'm just using them to
tell a weird little story. Don't sue me. (The Canadian dollar isn't
worth it.)

Note: Since this is just for fun, some of the character may act out of
character.

Author's Notes: Damn, I've got writer's block. I got stuck very well in
A Different Brand Of Mousse. Why? This story. Maybe if I get it out, I
can continue with the other fic. If not, expect a lot more shortfics.

***

[[BUZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ]]

Mousse opened his eyes and turned the alarm on. Without his
glasses, everything was a blur but he could tell that it hadn't even
turned light outside. He reached for his glasses which was on a small
dresser beside his bed in the Nekohanten attic. He held them and
squinted as he tried looking at them.

<Today's the day.> he thought. <Today, I'll finally see what other
people see.>

He dressed quickly and headed outside. He jumped from house to
house, making what he hoped was a beeline to his target.

***

"Hello young man. I assume you're here for them?" the store owner
asked.

Mousse nodded. "Thanks for waiting. I can't even begin to thank
you."

"Oh it's completely okay. If it weren't for you, the entire store
would have been robbed. I am in debt and I'm just repaying my debt." he
man said. He reached under the counter and gave the box to Mousse.

<I can't believe this is happening!> Mousse thought. He accepted
the box with shaking fingers. He opened it and squinted at it with his
glasses on. Even with his glasses on, he could barely see it.

He took of his old glasses and put on his new set. They were the
latest in thin style lenses. He put them on and was bombarded with
visual information.

"I can see! I can see!" Mousse shouted, leaping from house to
house all the way back to the Nekohanten.

***

Mousse stood staring at the woman he loved. She was his vision
of feminine perfection. He loved every part of her. Now that he had
perfect vision, he couldn't help but gawk.

"What Mousse staring at?" Shampoo asked.

        "You." Mousse said casually.

"Mousse so stupid." she said, packing up some take-out boxes.
"Great-grandmother, Shampoo go visit Ranma, is okay?" She was gone
before Cologne could even speak.

"Great Elder, may I go to the Tendo dojo?" Mousse asked as
boldly as he could, trying not to turn into stone from the old crone's
stare.

"Why not?" Cologne said, "Just be back before the rush starts."

***

        <Saotome, now that I can see, there's no way I could lose>
Mousse thought confidently, jumping from roof to roof.

***

"Nihao Ranna!" Shampoo said, managing to glomp onto Ranma and
hold on to the take-out box she was holding. "Ramna try new ramen
recipe?"

"Uh, okay. Just give it to me before Akane finds out." Ranma
said, looking around for his fiancee.

"Saotome, today, I will take Shampoo from you!" Mousse shouted.

"Oh my! Was that a battle cry?" Kasumi exclaimed, entering the
Tendo living room.

"Ka-Ka-Kasumi? I-I-It's nice to see you. You're looking very
lovely today." Mousse said, losing all his threatening features. If
anyone had looked closely, they would have seen that his glasses had
fogged up slightly.

Kasumi blushed and said, "Thank you Mousse, will you be joining
us for breakfast today?"

"I won't be too much of a bother will I?" Mousse said shyly.

"No, it's never any trouble." Kasumi said, walking into the
kitchen, Mousse following her like sheep.

"Whoa, something wrong with Mousse today?" Nabiki asked, dressed
in her loose fitting shirt and super-short shorts.

Mousse stopped following Kasumi and took one look at the Tendo
middle daugher before fainting dead on the floor.

***

"Uh, what happened?" Mousse asked. He opened his eyes and was
rewarded with the eyes of Nabiki Tendo looking straight into his eyes.
He felt as if he was able to see into her soul. <Very nice...> he
thought. He looked at his surroundings. He was lying down in the middle
of the hall, Nabiki kneeling down and pressing an ice pack to his head.

He got up and brushed himself off. "Sorry for worrying you, I
just... tripped on my robes."

Nabiki crossed her arms and feigned indifference. "For the
help?" she asked, holding out her hand.

He grabbed her hand and pulled her close to him and kissed her.

Nabiki squirmed but started to enjoy the kiss.

"Nabiki, where's the..." Akane walked in on the two and blushed.

Mousse and Nabiki backed away, slowly, both wanting to continue.

Mousse turned around and saw the youngest Tendo daughter.

        "Cute." he said softly.

Akane heard him and blushed even more. She quickly walked past
them and towards the living room.

Mousse turned and looked at Nabiki, who looked deep in thought.
"Mousse, I'll take that as a payment anytime." she said, giving him a
peck on the cheek.

Mousse's view got very blurry but he knew there was nothing wrong
with his glasses. He walked in zombie-like back into the living room.
Akane blushed the minute she saw him and turned away.

"What wrong Mousse? Look strange?" Shampoo asked.

Mousse ignored her and went straight for Akane. He at the minute
saw only her. He kneeled beside her and tapped her on the shoulder.

"Don't listen to what Ranma says. You are beautiful." Mousse
said, looking deep into her eyes. She reddened to near impossible
levels.

"Shampoo, get away from my Ran-chan!" Ukyo shouted to Shampoo.

Mousse turned and looked at the okonomiyaki chef. <How in the
world did Ranma not notice she was a girl?> he thought. "Ukyo, you look
beautiful as ever." Mousse said.

Every girl and Ranma gasped. Mousse ignored them and continued,
"It's amazing that Ranma didn't recognize that you were a young woman.
Perhaps he's the one who's in need of these glasses."

"Thanks Mousse." Ukyo said weakly. The way he was looking at her
made her weak in the knees. The new glasses were nothing like the old
ones, so she was able to look deep within his eyes.

Mousse looked around and said, "Kasumi, Nabiki, Akane, Ukyo,
Shampoo... you are all women of amazing beauty. I just wanted to say
that Ranma doesn't deserve any of you. Would you all do me the honor of
going out with me?"

"Never go out with you Mousse." said Shampoo.

"Just wait, give me time to get ready!" all the other girls
said, quickly getting themselves ready.
***

In a certain temple, a silver haird, tanned goddess was glued to
the TV.

"Urd! What did you do to that mortal?" Belldandy exclaimed,
looking at the young man in the TV with long hair and surrounded by 4
girls.

"Oh, I just wanted to see what would happen if I gave him the
glasses that make you fall in love with any girl you think is beautiful.
He got the girls on his own. I didn't interfere with him there." Urd
said, casually

"Urd, stop playing with people like this. There is a way to turn
everything back to normal right?" Belldandy asked.

"Yeah, but look, everyone's happy." Urd said, pointing at the TV.

"What about the young man following them?" Belldandy asked.

"Well, the guy with the glasses stole some of the girls from
him." Urd said, looking intently at the TV.

"See, everyone's not happy. Turn them all back." Belldandy said,
her mind made up.

"But everyone was so unhappy before." Urd whined.

"Why what happened before?" Belldandy asked.

"Well, before, the man following them had 4 girls chasing him.
Three of them were his fiancees through some screw-ups because of his
father." Urd said.

Belldandy's curiosity was peaked. "How did this all happen?" she
asked.

Belldandy listened to the whole story with wide eyes, curiosity
getting the better of her. She forgot all about what was showing on the
TV.

The End (maybe)

Author's Notes: I had this story stuck in my head. Now that it's out,
maybe I could get back to 'A Different Brand Of Mousse.' Garbage? Gold?
