Um, Mr. Person who is obviously in the dark... what does the fact that
the show never says the springs combine people have to do with a person
suggesting the idea to the FFML?  So what if it's not stated in the
series... you really need to learn that just because it's not stated
does not make it untrue!  When a tree falls in the forest and no one is
there it does make a sound!  What?  You think the universe simply ceases
to exist because nothing is there to observe it?  This all follows under
the same logic you're using when you deny something simply because it's
not mentioned or touched upon.  I would lastly and most importantly like
to also say that speculation is the very heart of fanfic writing!  'What
if' is the question that spawns most great fanfics... and the world (at
least to us readers) would be a much darker place if those people had
not asked that question simply because the original series didn't make
it clear whether the 'what if' was true or not!  
Been a while since I publically ranted...
