Do you see any other form of income for that family? The dojo has no
students, and other than Genma's occasional romp as Mr. Panda at Tofu's
office, no one has a job. Without "the Mercenary" there'd be no
clothes, no food, and more body-shaped holes than home.

I would like to disagree.
1:] The Tendou family is on a large plot of property for a city dwelling in
Japan, indicating a degree of wealth. Some part of that wealth may be as
cash or readily liquifiable assets.

2] The episodic nature of the show makes it possible that for several hours
a day Soun goes and either teaches directly, or oversees instruction at one
or more public dojoes. This does not exclude the possibility that he has
some specific evenings where he teaches a small elite class in the dojo.

My thought is that while the dojo is the only particular thing going with
the bride at the wedding [presumably with the house, as well], there is one
or more properties that have simply never been mentioned during the show.

>From the Dojo Destroyer incident, it is evident that the Tendo Dojo has some
recognition, or the Destroyer would never have shown up and humiliated Genma
like he did. Also, some things that Soun could do, including Genma once
they move in, is give demonstrations at shows. [low probability, but
possible, with a decent income]
