whew, just got back from picking up groceries and bicycling back in this
Phoenix monsoon, to find two massive flamemails in my inbox. if someone
wants
to do this story, enjoy. let me make two points to everyone else, please:
1) not everyone has access to a complete set of the translated manga or is
fluent in Japanese. Therefore, quoting events in the manga or insisting
that
the manga=gospel doesn't carry a lot of weight.
2) i know not why other people write. i do it to enjoy myself and because i
enjoy
reading. i do not enjoy getting flamed. maybe that (per some writer's
opinions)
makes my writing shallow. more likely i just don't like being insulted.
(obviously
some of the Akane worshippers share the same temper as their goddess...)
anyway here's the story as i originally thought of it:
Enslaved - story arc from "the Bet"
chapter 1: "Wayward Son"
Ranma, Kasumi, Nabiki meet Nodoka Saotome and come to live in the
Saotome household. Curses are revealed, except Nabiki's.
chapter 2: "Scarred for life"
Nodoka notices that Nabiki's back is covered in scars. Nabiki's curse is
revealed
as well as some of the abuses that she underwent, especially at the hands of
her
sister Akane. Ranma goes to Bluebird High School where a young lady thinks he
resembles her sempai. Introduction of Bluebird's version of Kuno (Arisa
Uemura).
Intro of Doctor Mizuno, who will be working with Nabiki and Kasumi. Reference
to Rie Ga, who occasionally showed some kindness to girls, possibly just to
spite
elders. Both treated especially harshly due to "being made an example of."
chapter 3: "Hunters"
Nodoka finds out about how Kasumi was abused as a guy and as a girl.
The dark and seamy side of the Nichieju, and of the assassination squads.
Scene from Akane's point of view shows that she still has some feeling for
her sisters, and is hoping that she has the chance to kill them quickly and
cleanly rather than take them back where their suffering will be much worse.
Arisa Uemura continues attacks on Ranma. It is revealed that Ranma is the
first person in eleven years to show them any sort of consistent kindness,
hence the two still sneaking into his room at night just to be near him.
chapter 4: "Sharp dressed man"
Lita meets Kasumi-kun and thinks that HE resembles her sempai. Mina sets
her
own sights on Kasumi-kun, who must be shy to run away like that. Akane and
Shampoo make it to Japan. Ranma meets Tetsuo. Arisa Uemura (undefeated
captain of the school's Karate Club, the Pink Tiger) meets Kasumi-kun. Rie Ga
arrives, having had yet another confrontation with the Elders, and comes to
warn them of Akane & Shampoo coming to kill Ranma.
chapter 5: "Youma blues"
Tetsuo gets put in the hospital by being caught in between a youma and a
"sparkling wide pressure." Ryouga is mistaken for another youma by the Senshi.
The Senshi are not having a good day. Ranma takes on two new sparring partners
and runs into an Ancient Master. Ukyou is playing tourist, trying to see the
Senshi,
and sees Ranma instead. Rie Ga gets a crush on Ryouga, admiring his strength
and
endurance.
chapter 6: "Ryouga, the eternal lost boy"
Ryouga finds Ranma, and attacks. Nabiki's hair gets cut short. Ryouga sneaks
into Saotome house at night. Finds Ranma, Nabiki, and Kasumi in same room.
Ryouga freaks out. Akane reminisces at the site of her old house, though the
area has been converted to townhouses. Tetsuo, in the hospital, decides to
study magic. Ukyou finds the Saotome household is not what she expected.
chapter 7: "Revelations"
Holding her new pet pig "Hammie" in her lap at night, Nabiki talks about
what
she's gone through, how Ranma rescued the two sisters, and the risks he took.
She unloads her feelings about Ranma, and how she can't say anything because
she thinks her sister would be a better match for Ranma, and how she can't
abide
the touch of man or woman because of what she went through. Ryouga trying to
deal with the idea of someone getting a more raw deal than he himself has been
dealt. Ranma watches the Senshi fight and starts trying to figure out how he
can do tricks like that.
chapter 8: "Trouble, right here in river city"
Akane draws the short straw, she has the first shot at Ranma. Akane attacks
and manages to wound Nodoka at the Saotome household. Ranma confronts,
fights, then defeats Akane. Ranma then stops Nabiki from killing an
unconscious
Akane. Emphasis in this chapter should be on Akane, her thoughts, and her
reactions to the situation, knowing full well that Shampoo will be observing
her
for any sign of weakness. Lita comes by, hoping for a chance to get advanced
martial arts training from Ranma. Ranma makes a disparing remark about Sailor
Jupiter's martial arts and wonders why Lita gets upset.
Ukyou and Ryouga learn to fight for something besides vengeance.
chapter 9: "Shampoo, the gung ho girl"
Ranma kun meets Shampoo as Shampoo tries to rescue Akane and find where
Ranma chan has gone. Ranma kun defeats Shampoo and gets the kiss of marriage.
Ranma, having heard of what Kasumi and Nabiki went through, reacts differently
to such an idea. Shampoo escapes with her life.
Ryouga finds a scroll detailing the Shishi Hokoudan.
chapter 10: "Engagement"
Nodoka formally engages Kasumi to Ranma. Genma arrives in Japan. Ranma
figures out a "derived" version of Rei's fire soul attack : Mouko Takabisha.
A youma attacks a high school, only to be driven back by Ryouga and Ranma
until the Senshi arrive. Tetsuo released from hospital. Arisa attempts to
attack
Ranma and seduce Ryouga.
chapter 11: "Curses & Cures"
Ryouga finds and brings back a map to a Japanese "Spring Of Drowned
Girl". Kasumi and Nabiki see the possibility of being cured. Shampoo and Akane
attempt to interfere, destroying one of the urns necessary for the cure,
though
there's enough of the water to cure one person. Who goes? Genma finds out
where Ranma is, and discovers that his wife knows about the curse. Genma
slaps himself when he learns that the slaves he told Ranma to abandon turn out
to be two of the Tendo daughters. Genma says it was his plan to have Ranma
show
his own initiative. Nobody believes him.
chapter 12: "Silver Millenium"
Nabiki or Kasumi or "Hammie" - who gets cured of their curse? Kasumi gets
cold
feet on the prospect of her marriage to Ranma. Akane and Shampoo attack while
Lita, Amy, Tetsuo, and Mina are having a study session. Kasumi is revealed as
a non-Senshi citizen of the Silver Millenium, as are Ranma, Ryouga, Nabiki,
Akane,
Ukyou, Shampoo, Tetsuo, and Rie Ga. Magical Maid Kasumi?
chapter 13: "Choices"
Cologne makes a declaration that if Ranma marries Shampoo or Akane, she
will
declare the two Tendo sisters to be free and their punishments to be over.
Otherwise
kill squads will continue to come until Ranma and all who stand with him are
dead
and the two are either returned to the village or killed. Ranma agonizing over
this,
as he knows damn well that sooner or later he'll slip up. Tetsuo begins
working on
a way to get henshin sticks. Magical Merchant Princess Nabiki?
chapter 14: "Fly me to the moon"
Ranma makes a choice. Ryouga discovers the reason for his poor direction
sense
is tied in with his Silver Millenium identity: that his family is cursed to
wander the
Earth until the return of Princess Serenity due to his ancestor's failure to
protect
the Princess. Moon Kingdom Sentinel Ryouga? Mercury Knight Ukyou?
chapter 15: "Free at last, dear lord, free at last"
Nabiki and Kasumi are free, but at what cost?

Eyecatch #1:
SD Shampoo and Akane sneaking along
in front of the logo, as they get trampled by all other
major cast members they go into the "promise pose."
Logo drops down a moment later on top of them with
a loud crashing noise. "Itai!"
Eyecatch #2:
Nabiki and Kasumi move to either side of
Ranma, Rie Ga moves next to Ryouga, Tetsuo runs
by screaming with a puzzled looking Ami shrugging
as she looks out from the right side of the screen.
