Escape: most of the amazon techniques, and the way they're described
 by Cologne, seem to be assassin techniques. A kill squad would therefore
 be a group to go in and quietly remove problems. Any assassin of skill is
 going to wait until opportunity knocks. ie: the students have gone home.
  The students, being students, may have just gotten hit with Formula 110.
Originally i had put the attack as having happened eight years prior to the 
  start of the series. Akane would be eight, Nabiki:nine, Kasumi: eleven.
after
  thinking about it (this is one of those series that popped "whole cloth"
into
  my head around 2am) setting it at eleven years prior makes more sense, 
  and will provide the stimulus for Genma to take a ten year training journey
  with his son (worried about being the next target). So Kimiko, instead of
  dying from cancer (or whatever) was also killed when she tried to grab up a
  naginata and defend the house. Akane is five, Nabiki six, Kasumi eight at
the
  time of the attack.
Akane also demonstrates repeatedly a kind of fragile pride, at least in the
anime,
  she takes any criticism of her skills as near-mortal insult, covering what
may be
  huge insecurities on her part. Being trained as a warrior by the village
leaders,
  and adopted into THAT family, then getting a coveted position like Enforcer,
are
  all going to reinforce her identity as an amazon.
And before all the Akane-otaku start their flamethrowers, imagine what would
happen
   if the village Enforcer, about to kill the thief, is knocked out by him
instead?

Oh, am also thinking of changing the title, as i'm told "Enslaved" sounds like
it 
  should be a lemon. How about "Wayward Son"?
