Now part three...

                            #Descent#

"Listen, Magic Knights" Hikaru said to her firends. "If we want to discover
what is happening
we have no other choice. Did we ever withdrew in front of troubles?"
The answer was clearly depicted on the other's face, but a nod made it all
the more
resolute.
"Right then. The first thing to do is securing the area; Umi, you'll see
that there are no
workers near the maintenance door; Fuu, cover me."
"Hikaru" remarked the green Knight with a smile crossing her lips "this is
not *Miami Vice*,
trust someone that knows about it."
"Gomen ne, I've got too excited this time" she said in kawaii.
"Fuu," Umi wondered "did you really see these kind of things?"
"Well, I like having a *broad* range of intersts" she said *manning her
position*, leaving the
two, amazed and sweatdrop-stricken, behind. "So, what are you waiting for?"
"We're coming!" said at once Hikaru and Umi, fearing Fuu would soon take
out a red
sweatband or something like that.
"There is too silence for me" stated Umi when they got nearer to the
cordoned area.
"Yes, I don't like it" claimed Hikaru. "It could be a trap."
"Of course it is" said Fuu. "If Nemo is only half smart then we think, he
would have probably
set up something for us."
"But he didn't saw Hikaru following him" interjected Umi.
"After what I've just seen I'm not so sure about what to expect; maybe he
*left* Hikaru follow
him, and is awaiting us, or, if not, there will be some type of security or
alarms around here.
We cannot take it easy."
"You're right Fuu" the azurehead admitted. "But this will not stop us, ne?"
And there was a
shine of energy in her eyes.
"Yeah!" cried Hikaru, followed by Fuu's "You can count on that."
"Well, as there is nobody around, we can go directly to the maintenance
storage" said the
green Knight, recollecting her strategic manners. "With caution" she added
catching the hint
of the I'm-going-to-rush-in-it mood in Umi's eyes.
But was Hikaru to open the door, without effort and without springing any
deadly trap or
thundering alarm. Nonetheless, someone knew of them the very moment they
entered the
small dark room.
  "All here?" asked Umi deluded.
"What were you expecting, the *Enterprise*'s deck?" pinched Fuu.
Smiling at her friends' jokes, Hikaru was already working, searching every
inch of those
dusty shelfs full only of cobwebs, impressive-looking spiders, so big that
some of them asked
the Knights a cigarette, and tools that had nearly melted with the metal
shelves themselves
after years of rust.
"Have you found something?" asked at last the redhead, after an half-hour,
unsuccessfull
trial.
"Nothing" the others moaned. "This place is abandoned!"

"This place is abandoned!" croacked the two girls on the screen of a
sec-guard.
"What should we do with them?" he asked to the Lead Scientist, the first to
have been
informed of the entry of some unwanted visitors.
"Nothing" the LS hissed. "They will never be able to get here; there is no
need to worry."
  "Yes sir."
"Wait" ordered a loud voice behind them. The sec-guard instinctively stood
up saluting,
hitting the right shoulder with his left punch.
"Easy" Nemo said to the soldier. "Now, what's going on?" he asked glancing
at the
overimposed image on the security screen.
"Three trepassers sir! They match the description you gave us, but they
have been unable
to find the elevator's entrance. They pose no threat."
"Maybe, maybe not" said Nemo. "Let them inside."
The voices of the girls had turned into distorted chirps.
"What?" the gargle was mixed by some alien swears. "It is dangerous."
"I know, but it's a chance we cannot lose: here they have no way to escape
me, or my
questions."
"Are you sure, sir?" repeated the Lead Scientist with a slight bow.
"*Yes*. Let them inside" he ordered "and" he added with a little bead
appearing on his brow
"send someone to fix that damn camera."

"What we gonna do now?" Umi asked patting away the dust from her skirt.
Hikaru glanced at Fuu, but she shook her head. "I really don't know" she
said dryly.
"But there must be something around here! A door, a switch, a..." her voice
was drowned in
a metal roar of rattling plates rising from *below their feet*. The three
stood there for a
terribly long second as the moaning *thing* moved upward from the depths,
gaining a hurting
intensity just before stopping.
  "Now, what's next?" whispered Hikaru.
A whole door-shaped section of the wall behind them, revealing a
flood-light-lit hexagonal
room.
  "Hikaru?"
  "Yes, Umi?"
  "Next time, *shut up*."
  "Oh, okay."
"No kidding, Knights" Fuu brought them back to reality. "We've got
something to do."
"I think you were right Fuu" Umi said peeking inside the room.
  "About what?"
  "About the *trap*."
"I regret not bringing my sword" Hikaru sighed.
"Anyway" Fuu stated stepping inside the light "we must go." <Ferio is
here.>
"Yes" the other two echoed. "Together, nothing can stop us!"

As soon as they all three were inside the odd shaped room, the door closed
without making
a sound, and they felt the sensation of an acceleration.
  "An elevator" Fuu commented.

"The intruders are inside the elevator" informed the sec-guard.
"Sir" the Lead Scientist said again "I insist on taking more security
measures."
"They're not needed." To the guard: "Prepare security protocol 0-12 at
section 2 of the main
corridor."
  "Yes sir!"

The door opened on the wicked-geometry hallway, and, on the other side, on
an empty
elevator. A hand with a red-trimmed sleeve stretched from a side and waved
like a goodbye.
"Fuu, are you sure this is necessary?" Umi asked puzzled.
"If I were to explain you all the tactics used by Special Corps we'll exit
this place in a couple
of decades."
"Don't question!" whispered Hikaru. "Remember her second name is *Rambo*!"
  Sweatdrop on their brows.
"What have you two to whispering about?" the green Knight asked, her
glasses going into
*mirror mode*.
  "Nothing!" Big smiles I-just-ate-the-canarin style.
"Well, we can go then" Fuu smiled stepping outside in the corridor. "Nobody
in sight, it's
safe."
The other two followed her and stared at the corridor disappearing in the
distance,
completely straight, lit, and empty.
"This place gives me the creeps, girls!" Umi said, not daring to yell it
aloud.
  "Yeah, it's spooky!" Chirped Hikaru.
Fuu was looking at the place with a more critical eye than her friends.
<This place is really
strange; too strange. Nobody in sight, no sounds of activity, no
*guards*...it cannot be
abandoned.> Something crossed her mind. <It's missing only *the creature* to
make up a
good space thriller.>
"So, Fuu, what's the next move?" Umi brought her back from her brooding.
"We'll sit down and take a cup of tea."
"Fuu" Umi said swiping the bead from her brow "try to save us your sarcasm,
we're not in
the right situation..."
Hikaru called them from the cross of the main halleyway with a smaller one:
"C'mon! We
aren't waiting for Xmas!"
"Ok Fuu" Umi asked leaning to a wall, and getting really uncomfortable with
all those edges
in it "where are we goin'?"
<What does she think? I haven't got the map of this bloody place.
Anyway...> "Theorically"
Fuu began "the bigger corridor should lead to the most important place, so I
suggest we
should follow it."
"Perfect!" cried Hikaru darting away, followed by Umi.
But something catched Fuu's attention, a soft noise of steps coming from
somewhere down
the smaller halley; but nobody was in sight. She stopped watching in that
direction, giving her
friends a hush to warn them.
All too late, as security protocol 0-12 was activated in that very moment,
rising a four-
inches-thick wall of steel between Fuu and her friends.
"Umi! Hikaru!" she cried, but no answer came, the wall being even able to
absorb sounds.
<Now I'm on my own...I knew this was going to turn into a trap!>
A faint sound made her turn, and see one of the doors had opened.

                                #Escape#

<All ready> thought Ferio fixing on the only exit from his room and his
only chance to
escape; he never saw armed people or anything like that, but probably he
would have to face
some resistance, at least from the healers. Well, they posed no problem, but
if there were
better warriors in that place he would have to get a weapon or, with luck,
find his own sword.
<Then I'll get out of here and find Fuu.>
His grin of victory flashed on his face a moment before he began smashing
the devices and
freeing himself from all those *plastic* things sticking into his wrist.
"Ferio, what are you..." cried one of the whitecoated men as he entered the
room, but he
was hit by a foot-from-Cefiro that left its red shape right in his face.
The sudden violent reaction of the patient created one of the worst messes
from the time
the Lead Scientist had appendicitis. One assistant was to sound the alarm,
but flailing his
arms all he managed to do was to slip and crash on the control station,
overturning the
coffee on the floor and hitting a nurse that launched his siringe-strewn tray
with such
precision to block to the wall a guard and knock him over. Meanwhile two
other guards came
running and yelling in the room, stun-truncheons ready to strike.
"Goddamnit!" one screamed at the scene.
"Go get 'em!" the other said pointing his weapon to the door.
"No. We must wait for reinforcements! Look at what he already did!"
  "Where's the other frigging sec-boy!?"
  "I don't know!"
  "*I go*!"
  "No!"
But the other had already stepped toward his enemy, and, to say the truth,
on the splashed
coffee on the ground, losing his balance as his mate run forward to help him.
The inner
momentums of the two bodies, and the relative arm-flail brought in that very
moment the two
electrically-charged weapons in contact, releasing a terrific blast of azure
shocking light that
lit them like Christmas trees and turned them into a heap of foul smelling
fools.
With the last sparkle of consciuosness, one of the two manged to breath:
"They got us...!"
A battlecry then echoed in the empty room, and Ferio jumped inside,
fighting-stance-mode
and fiery lights in his eyes, that immediately popped out.
"..." was all he had the strenght to say on the scene. "They are far
*worse* that I thought" he
commented before running away in pajamas in search of her Fuu.
When he closed the door with the *EXIT* sign on it, another one opened, and
a guard
exited, followed on the short distance by a nurse.
"Guys...d'you need help?" he asked before being crushed by a sweatdrop too
big for a
human to bear.

"Here's the plan, willing or *not*!" Geo slammed his fist on the hovering
table in front of
Clef. "We have been lucky nobody was hit this time!"
"You're right" Guru Clef sighed "but I would still wait to see..."
"We can't! Simply, we can't! Zazu discovered that *thing* came from Earth,
right? Then we
*can* go there, and maybe look for the help of the Magic Knights!"
"But I don't have the strenght to bring you or whoever to Earth; it is an
effort when I'm fit,
and after that attack I don't really have enough power."
  "It won't be needed."
Clef narrowed his eyes. "What do you mean?"
Geo smiled, or maybe grinned. "Autozam's technology may be less powerful
than
Cefironian magic <those Mashins are really tough> but in some other fields,
we are good as
you."
"Are you saying that you can open a dimensional portal?" Clef asked, not
too eager to get
an answer.
"Yes." Pause. "In reality no. The NSX is being prepared for this special
travel right as we
speak, but as much energy it can generate, it could never be enough to create
such an
opening."
"So you need a little *push*, right?" There was a hint of amusement in his
words.
  "Yes."
The Guru smiled. "And how are you supposed to come back? I can't leave
Cefiro now, and
the Magic Knights could be some of the finest magicians I ever knew, but are
not trained in
this type of spells."
The door of the throne room opened: "I'll go with them."
"Lantis! What are you talking about?" Clef nearly yelped.
"I can provide them with the magic necessary for their return."
"Thank you, Lantis. I knew you was not going to abandon us" said Geo, eyes
watering.
"*Wait a second you two*" Clef cried. "What's this? A conspiracy? Lantis, I
would advise
you to..." the words faded away as he saw the two men's you're-outnumbered
expressions.
He deflated: "Okay, when will the NSX be ready?"
"I think it's already on the move" Geo smiled. "Just the time to go there,
make a little last-
time arrangements, and we can do some counterattack."
"All right" Clef was resignated "wait while I summon a suitable spirit
beast."

#The trap, the fight, the love#

A faint sound made her turn, and see one of the doors had opened. Fuu
Hououji recognized
the dark shape in the doorframe even with the armor. "Nemo-san."
"Here I am" he said stepping in the light.
"I knew you was behind something, but this exceeds by far what I expected."
"Thank you, my lady" he said with a deep western-style bow. "Do you like
my...hideout?"
"It isn't a little too big to be just a rat's den?"
"Mmmm...I see you just got a little too upset today but...yes, this is the
main center of my
operations in Japan. There are others places like this under other cities:
Sapporo, Yokosuka
and a couple of others. But now why dont' we talk about something more
interesting?
Remember girl, now you are in *my* world: I ask the questions and you tell me
what I want to
hear. Understood?"
"I'll fight if you force me."
Nemo shook his head. "Don't understimate me, it could be a grave mistake
even if I'm
*not*going to harm you. Now" his expression and his movements were those of a
rattlesnake
in front of a mouse "tell me who you really are, who are the Magic Knights
and who is the
Pillar."
Fuu kept quiet <I fell in your traps once and I'm not going to do it twice>
while trying to
circle him. <If I don't move quickly I'm trapped.>
"You cannot escape me" Nemo told her. "And cannot call for your friends; in
this same
moment a squad of my best men has already made them prisoners. Don't worry,
they will be
safe and well treated."
She smiled at the tought of Hikaru frying those muscle mountains with a Red
Lightning or
Umi wash them away with her Blue Watersprout.
  "What made you so happy?"
  She smiled again.
"C'mon Fuu" Nemo's voice had turned into iron filding "you cannot escape,
your friends
cannot help you, your Ferio cannot help you. If you are to cooperate, well;
if not, prepare
yourself." And moved toward her.
"No you won't!" She cried waving her hands into magical patterns summoning
her spell, the
Warning Wind. "Imashime no Kaze!" Twin flows of green magic arched from Fuu's
hands as
soon as she finished her spell, wrapping around Nemo like living drapes.
At first he had a normal reaction to a thing like that; say, he opened his
eyes plate-size and
stopped moving, part for the spell's effect, part from fear. "What in the..."
he snorted
disoriented. Even if he had expected some kind of magical activity after his
meeting with
Umi, he had no way to know what *exactly* to expect from *her*.
"Let see what you can do *now*, Nemo-san. *I will not hurt you*." Fuu said,
without the
intention of being so sarcastic this time.
But this situation of advantage for the Magic Knight lasted very, very
little. "This means war,
lady" growled Nemo. He closed his eyes, and the whirling green curtains
stopped moving;
then opened them, deep blue fires glowing in them, a smirk of victory on his
face, unleashing
so much power that the Warning Wind was torn away like a clinex by the cobalt
aura that
engulfed him.
Fuu lost her footing, blinded by the light, and slammed against the wall.
<This is not
possible!> she screamed awed. <This one has tremendous magical powers! His
aura is so
strong...stronger than any one I saw saving...Zagato and Emeraude.>
"Now" Nemo emerged from its own fading light with an cutting voice that
could perhaps be
used for shaving "*I make the questions and you answer*." And raised a hand,
shrouded in a
dark blue-to-black halo calling softly: "Shinzo Tsutsuku ni Imasu".
In that instant, Fuu wished to be dead; she couldn't understand what Nemo
was doing to her
with the hand, her gaze fixed on his grinning face, but it was painful. As
soon as the hand
touched her breast, right over the heart, her dresses tore away,
disintegrated by the searing
hot emenated by whatever spell he was using, and sank in the skin, just a
bit, to let her feel
the flesh burn and shrivel.
"So?" Nemo asked, his fingers making their way deeper into Fuu.
She wasn't able to answer back something coherent, even a yell; tears began
to flow from
under her glasses, running down her cheecks, vaporizing when they got near
the hand.
"Do you feel it?" Nemo asked again. "Don't be so headstrong."
But Fuu could hardly hear him, not to say understand what he was saying,
her body turning
cold and numb, her pain paralizing every muscle and nerve, focusing her
torture on the
fingers that she could feel burning and melting their way inside her, towards
her beating
heart. Her body was now nothing, her pain something too great to be
withstanded as Nemo's
hand wrapped around Fuu's life organ, keeping it alive just to prolong her
suffering.
The ceiling was fading into blackness. <Ferio, I'm sorry...>
"*STOP!*" The shout was of a male voice, powerful and imperative, yet full
of
apprehension, of a member of the royal family of Cefiro, with green hair, a
sword big as
himself and a really deep love of Fuu Hououji.
"Ferio" Nemo said in a slight laugh. "I knew you was to escape soon." And
left his hold on
Fuu, letting her fall on the ground very uncerimoniously, gasping, chocking
and holding her
breast with both hands; then he walked back, leaving enough room for Ferio to
go to her
beloved.
"Fuu..." he said sticking his sword in the ground (he had found his former
clothes and
weapon in a closet not very far away from the medical quarters). "What has he
done to you?"
Carefully he too k her head and put it in his lap, swiping the tears and
trying to wake her from
a coma like-sleep. Seeing her hands clenched over her heart, he slowly put
them away, a
worried expression running on his features; when he saw there was no trace of
wounding, nor
a cut in the clothes, his apprehension didn't diminished, as he sensed
immediately the use of
evil magic.
"What you've done to her?" he threateningly asked.
"Nothing" explained dryly Nemo. "Or, better, nothing permanent; the
Heart-Peck is a very
painful tecnique, you would say spell, but doesn't leaves permanent phisical
injuries."
  "You..."
Fuu stirred and moaned so faintly Ferio could barely hear her. "It's all
right Ferio..."
"Ssshhh" Ferio whispered softly. "It's all right now. Quiet." He helped her
sit, leaning her
against the slanting wall, then stood up and got his sword, wielding it right
in front of Nemo,
who was still watching him like a veterinarian on a vivisecting session
would.
"Now I think we should have something more important to discuss" the
would-be mad
scientist said scornfully.
"Yes" Ferio spat, barely controlling his rage. <You'll pay. I swear sooner
or later you'll pay.>
"No, I will not" Nemo replied, hinting at the boy's thoughts. "You simply
are not powerful
enough."
"We'll discover it!" he cried slashing forward.
"Too slow dear" Nemo said standing already behind him. "Again, too slow."
This time he
easily dodged withdrawind a couple of steps. But Ferio's rage was not over,
and slash after
slash, dodge after dodge, Nemo let him calm down before starting.
"Are you slowing down?" He asked as Ferio stopped to get his breath back.
"What is
Cefiro's attitude towards Earth?"
"What are you talking about?" he panted rising his sword to attack again.
"What Cefiro wants from my planet? Why did you called the three girls? For
what purpose?"
"To save *our* world, nothing more."
They began to slowly circle each other.
"Are the girls fighters? What other spells can they perform?" <Mental note:
warn the special
quads of the girls' powers.>
"Can't you really understand?" asked Ferio. "We mean Earth no harm."
"Is you that cannot understand" replied Nemo, waving his hands in fighting
stances. "Aside
from what *you* can think or do, there is no way for me to know if you are
threat to me or
not."
"*For me?*" echoed Ferio. "Then you care only for yourself, not for the
planet! What kind of
man you are?"
"No, no, young boy. I *am* the planet, in a particular point of view."
  "Yours."
  "Now answer my questions!"
"I already did it!" Ferio cried jumping forward. The sword chopped only
air.
"I think you time is over" scorned Nemo, and tiny shiny lines appeared on
Ferio's sword,
that fell in a handful of pieces soon afterwards. "While the Shinzo Tsutsuku
ni Imasu does
not leaves phisical traces, the Ja'aku na Tsume, or Wicked Claw, leaves
enemies in a
more...fragmented shape."
<He is stronger than I thought> reasoned Ferio <but I must defeat him. Fuu
is too weak,
and who knows where the other Knights are. If I don't come up with
something...> A smile
flashed on his face. "Nemo" he shouted "don't think I'm defeated."
"So, if you want to get hurt..."
  "Be ready!"
Nemo was not taken by surprise by his attack. <Predictable> and he cut to
bits the throwed
hilt, all that was left of the sword, in midair. When all was finished, Ferio
wasn't there
anymore. "What..." he murmured just before Ferio's foot smashed flat on his
face, and the
boy landed behind him. Stunned, Nemo turned to strike, but found a bitter
surprise; with a
shower of azure sparks Ferio drove one of the stun-truncheons on Nemo's
chest. When at
last he stumbled to the wall, Ferio was triumphant.
"So, what are you going to do now?" he laughed.
"Now, -cough- my dear, -cough- put down that weapon and surrender." And
saying this,
Nemo put a hand a few inches from Fuu's chest, and this time he was not going
to use the
Heart-Peck. "I warn you, this time she'll not make it."
Ferio froze. He had lost. Period. He could not risk to lose her, he could
not even think it.
"You won" he whispered, letting his weapon fall.
"No..." the soft voice came from Fuu. "Ferio..."
  "Fuu!"
"Don't give up, don't care for me."
  "Fuu...how, how could I..."
  "Save yourself."
Their eyes met, full of tears and unspoken love, in a wonderful instant of
tenderness. The
instant ended there.
"I cannot lose you, forgive me" breathed Ferio.
"Tell me, Ferio, what Fuu represents for you..." asked Nemo.
Something flashed into the boy's mind. "She...is..."
"Tell me, Ferio" Nemo went on "why are you sure I'll keep to the
agreement..."
Ferio's eyes widened in blind terror. "No...she is..."
"Tell me again" Nemo's clawed hand rose and lit with a navy aura "why I
shouldn't kill her?!"
"*BECAUSE I LOVE HER*" was the following, desperate cry.
When he opened his eyes again, throught the blurring tears, he saw Nemo
standing still,
some feet away from Fuu, a strange, cold smile on his face.
"Fuu!" he cried again running to her sweet.
"I'm all right..." she breathed softly, hugging him. "I'm so happy...I love
you, I love you too."
A soft cough warned them of the presence of Nemo; Ferio turned and helped
Fuu stand on
her feet. "What happened to you? You're tired to play with us?" he asked.
"No" explained Nemo. "The reason is another; first of all, I apologize for
what I've done to
Fuu, but it was necessary, and, in any case, I would have never killed her.
My aim was to be
sure of your real intentions and dispositions, and I must say you made 'em
really clear."
"Hope you're feeling happy now" Ferio spat.
"Indeed yes. I had not to eliminate you Ferio. You're not a threat; nobody
with such a deep
love for someone could be threat to me or to the Earth."
"Now" Fuu said with a still faint voice and a angry twinkle in her eyes "I
hope you'll explain
us about this story of *you* and *Earth*."
"Yes, I think now you can know something more of it."
"So, we are ready" Ferio said.
Nemo shook his head. "Not yet, we have to wait for the other *Magic
Knights*."
"*Akai Inazuma*" came then the distant cry from behind the
four-inches-thick steel wall, just
before it melted and blew up under the strenght of Hikaru's spell.
"Glad to see you!" cheered Nemo. "Now that we are all together, and we have
settled our
disputes, I can take you to the command center. Come, don't be shy." And he
strolled away,
under Hikatu's and Umi's popped-out eyes and growing beads.
The two got near Fuu and Ferio and whispered: "Somebody could tell us
what's been
happening here?...Oh, hi Ferio...*what the hell are you doing here*!"
"We'll explain you, but now keep behind him" and moved his head in Nemo's
direction.
"I fear something did not went well" interjected Umi glancing at Fuu and
her worn face.
From the green Knight came a short sound of scorn. "You're going to change
opinion on
that *man*" she said, still holding her hand on the chest, and one over
Ferio's shoulder to
avoid falling.
"So, spill the beans!" Umi said.
"When we were divided" Fuu began "he attacked me."
  "Really? And he won?"
"Sad, but true. He is a sorcerer much more powerful than me, maybe even
more than
Zagato. But this doesn't matters..."
"What he did to you?" asked Hikaru worried for her friend.
"He tortured her" Ferio interjected. "I got there right in time to save
her."
"Yes, it has been horrible" Fuu went on. "But the worst part of it is that
he did it like it was
not going to hurt me."
"And, let me guess" said Umi "he beated Ferio too?"
  "Yes" he sighed.
"Now that he is *sure we're not a threat*" Fuu spat with harshness rare for
her "he is taking
us somewere to explain us who he really is and what he is really doing here."
"So" Umi said thoughtfull "why he doesn't considers us a threat?"
"Because he said that" her voice trembled, but Ferio helped her.
"Two persons loving each other are not dangeorus fo him."
In that instant, Umi and Hikaru went SD and floated at the couple's side
with sly glances
and chirping voices. "Soooooooooo, you twoooooo, eh eh eh eh eh."
