A little note from me.. the author....

Alright, my third post (and second attempt on an ongoing fic) on the
FFML.

Oh yeah one more thing, I DO NOT write lemons! Never have and never
will. The series of Ranma wasn't like that, so I like to stay
somewhat true to what Rumiko-sensei has written (but I add more
romance..did I mention I'm a big ol' fan of Ranma and Akane? I'm a
HUGE fan of Ryouga and think he's a cutie with his fangs but I think
Ranma and Akane are more suited for each other) Anyway, here's a
little brief time description of what you are about to read *^_^* It
takes place around the time of just after the failed marriage attempt,
which is at the end of the manga. This story contains time warping
mirrors, martial arts action, LOTS of romance, fighting,
interdimentional mallets, LARGE grill spatulas, rainbow bonbori's, ki
attacks, yadda yadda yadda... I think you get the picture :P It's
just like a normal Ranma story... but with a few twists, as all good
fanfic writers throw in. Okay well on with the story! Just mail me
at carlychan@yahoo.com with you Flames and Praises.... but please...
no infernos... a girl can only take so much ^^; Oh yeah.. BTW.. I
FINALLY got a spell checker!! *glee* :P ^^;;

"This is someone talking"
*This is a thought*
**This would be an action**
[Panda sign anyone?]
((This is a flashback))
~~Someone talking in Mandarin~~
==(This is a note/tidbit/thought/whateveryouwanttocallit from me

And so the show goes on after a lot of rambling from me.....

Mirror, Mirror...... Part 1

*****************************

We start of in Nerima Japan, near the district of Tokyo. The sun
shone down in bright radiance, it's rays touching everything it passed
making them all the brighter. Birds were chirping from their perches
in the small trees, celebrating the first day of summer. Koi swam
contentedly in the small ponds laid out for them. All seemed right in
the world, well that was to say all was normal for Nerima, because
from somewhere well known in the town, a distant battle cried was
heard.....

"RANMAAAA NO BAKAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!"

"W-w-wait Akane!! I swear I can explain!!!!" A small girl with red
hair cried out. Her pony tail stuck straight out in fear.

"EXPLAIN WHAT!?!?! You were going through my drawers!!! I told you
to never EVER come in my room!!!!" Retorted back another young girl,
slightly taller than the red-head, and sported blue-black hair in a
stylish short cut.

"It's not what you think! If you would only let me ex--" Ranma was
quickly cut off by her fiancee.

"EXPLAIN THIS!!" yelled Akane as she brought out her
interdimmentional mallet and made contact...very very HARD
contact...with the red-heads face.

*Why me?* Ranma thought as he was sent for a one-way trip on air Akane.

"Serves him right." Akane said as she huffed back into the house, not
acknowledging the silent tear that made it's way down her face.

*****************************

After hearing the battle cry, even from miles away, the young shop
owner took a step outside. She licked her finger and checked the
velocity of the wind, the angle of the sun's rays and the path of
which the distant house made it's way to her shop. After adjusting
her step slightly to the left she outstretched her arms and waited.
She wasn't waiting for long when a small bundle came crashing down
into her arms. The little red-head that was clothed in dark green
Chinese pants with a red top opened her eyes cautiously to spy her
savior.

"Ucchan! You're a life saver! Hey... nice catch..." Ranma managed
out in a short breath.

"No problem Ran-chan! Anything from you kawaii fiancee!" Ukyou
smiled cutely and set Ranma on her feet. "Why don't you come on in
and I'll make you some _real_ food and get you some hot water?"

"Arigatou Ucchan." Ranma almost drooled when she walked into the
small okonomiyaki shop, the smell was enticing. Ukyou hopped back
behind the counter and quickly whipped up some batter and poured it
onto the oversize grill in front of her. Ranma licked her lips and
looked wide eyed at the food cooking before her. Ukyou grabbed a
plate and flipped the Japanese pizza onto it.

"Here ya go Ranma Honey! One Deluxe seafood made by the best
okonomiyaki chef in Japan!" Ukyou smiled and tossed the plate over to
her fiancee.

"Thanks Ucchan!!" Ranma barely got out while she stuffed the food
into his mouth. The encounter with Akane's cooking was a near death
experience and not to mention the cause for their fight this morning.

"I'm so glad you like it Ran-chan!" Ukyou squealed in delight and
hopped into the back and soon emerged again with s teapot full of hot
water, which she immediately dispensed onto Ranma's head.

Ranma grinned as the change came into place and her body became male
once more. "Thanks again Ucchan! I hate staying in that form too
long, it gives me the creeps." Ranma shuddered at the thought and
quickly jumped to his feet.

"You're going already Ran-chan?" Ukyou pouted.

"Hai, Akane's probably simmered down a bit so this would be a good
time to go apologize." Ranma frowned at his remark. *Jeeze.. Why do I
got to say sorry to her anyway... I swear she was trying to kill me
with her cooking this morning! Sometimes I really _do_ think she
wants me dead!*

"Maybe not Ranma, I think you should stay here just a little longer,
ne?" Ukyou asked almost pleadingly.

Ranma looked at her with some skepticism, "No Ucchan I really think I
should go. If I don't tell her I'm sorry now I'll NEVER hear the end
of it." Ranma groaned.

Ukyou pouted on his reaction, *Don't you want to stay with me Ranma?*
"Okay then, come by anytime! You know the restaurant is always open
to you Ranma honey!" Ukyou flashed him a kawaii smile hoping he would
change his mind, but he merely walked through the door and back down
the street towards his original destination.

Ukyou sighed but regained her composure when she recalled her most
found memory, ((My cute fiancee.. Meet my uncute finacee.)) Ukyou
always reveled in the fact that she was his cute fiancee. It just
showed how little he thought of Akane...well.... she thought so anyway.

*****************************

Ranma walked solemnly through some of the more deserted streets of his
town. His mind wondered on various problems in his life, his curse
which he always was thinking of, new techniques he wanted to learn
from Calogne, but more often then not lately he thought of Akane.
Ever since the failed marriage attempt a few weeks ago she had been on
his mind a lot. He wasn't quite sure how he felt anymore. At first
he hated her, why would he have any reason to not?! The first thing
she wanted to do when she knew he was a guy was bash his over the head
with a rock! But, slowly, he had been thinking of her more as a
friend. One that he thought he would love... *HEY HEY HEY!!
Waitaminutehere!! When the heck did love get in the picture here?
There's no way I could love an uncute, violent, macho, kawaiikunee,
chick like that!* But he knew as his thoughts went further they
sounded more and more half hearted. He knew that when she would smile
at him, his heart would stop dead in it's tracks. If only she could
be like that all the time. *Okay so maybe's she a LITTLE TINY
MINUSCULE bit cute?! So what! Don't mean I'm
gonna....gonna.....marry her or nuthin......* Ranma's train of thought
was rudely interrupted (as it usually is when he thinks about Akane)
by an ice cold splash of water.

"SWEETO!" Yelled a bald man, about 2 feet in height, "Ranma-chan come
to papa!!"

Ranma face faulted as the man glomped onto her chest while in the
process dropping all his belongings which included a large sack of
women's underwear.

"DRY UP AND DIE OLD MAN!!!!" Ranma yelled at the top of her lungs
while flinging Happousai into lower orbit. Ranma screamed in
frustration, *What is so wrong with this day!?!?!?!* A glint caught
Ranma's attention. She leaned over and picked up a small, cracked
mirror.

"This thing again?" Ranma wondered. After studying it again she
laughed to herself and put the mirror into her pocket and raced home
to get her apology to Akane over with.

*****************************

Kasumi led her youngest sister out from her room. Akane was red-eyed
and in sniffles.

"There, there Akane-chan. I'm sure he didn't really mean it."

"He did Kasumi onee-chan. He's always so mean to me. Sometimes I
wish he'd just move in with one of his other fiancee's and get it over
with...." Akane hung her head meekly.

"Oh Akane-chan I don't think he'd do that. I'm pretty sure he likes
staying here with all of us." Kasumi reassured her sister.

"Not for my cooking obviously..." Akane added in.

Kasumi giggled, "Oh Akane-chan. If you really are determined, I'll
help you out. I'll give you cooking lessons every day during the
meals. You can even help me prepare them alright?"

Akane's spirits brightened, "Hontou Kasumi onee-chan? Arigatou!!"
Akane gave her sister a loving hug and smiled as she walked from her
sister.

Kasumi smiled in return, but soon realized the task she was set out to
do. It would take some time to improve Akane's cooking, but she was
sure her little sister could do anything she really put her mind to.
Akane was like that. Once she started something, she had to see it to
the end. It was just one of her personality traits. One of the ones
Kasumi most admired in her sister. So, she walked back down the
stairs after Akane but veered towards the kitchen instead of the koi
pond where Akane now sat on one of the rocks.

Even though she put on a happy face after Kasumi's proposal to improve
her cooking, it didn't last long. She was still depressed from
Ranma's show put on that morning. *Why does he have to be so cruel to
me?* She pondered to herself, *If only he could be more like Ryouga.
He's so sweet and kind. Not one for directions but still a nice
guy.... but if Ranma was like Ryouga he wouldn't be himself, the one I
like..... WAIT! Me like Ranma?! HA! I shouldn't make myself laugh!
He's rude, arrogant, not to mention a big jerk! He changes into a
girl for goodness sakes! Me liking Ranma? Not
likely.....nope.....not me......no way.* Akane let out a sigh she had
been holding in. She could feel the tears want to show themselves but
she refused them and kept them hidden away like she had many times.
She rested her head into her hands closed her eyes. She opened them
again and...

"KYAAAAAAAA!!!!!" Akane screamed as she fell back off her rock. A
now male Ranma had been right in front of her and she hadn't even
noticed his approach. That's another thing she hated about him. He
always made her think twice about herself. Kasumi was good at
cooking, Nabiki at school and she was the martial artist in teh
family. But now Ranma was here and he was the best, not to mention
all the others he brought with himself. There's no way she could
contend with Shampoo or Ukyou or any of them.

Akane frowned and ignored the hand held out by Ranma for help up. She
didn't want his help, not after what he done to her. She straightened
herself back on the rock and turned away from him, "What do you want?"
She asked with her particularly icy tone.

Ranma backed up slightly. He knew that tone and it didn't bode well
for him at all. He regained himself and forced on, "Uh..I was
coming...to...a-a-apologize for this morning. It was really mean of
me and...well I'm sorry." Ranma knew he wasn't very good at these
kind of things.

"Why bother?" Akane asked in monotone.

Ranma scratched the back of his head, "Well, I figured you were mad at
me and all so...."

"So what? What do I care about your opinion anyway?" Akane replied
smugly.

"How uncute! I come here to be nice and all you do is insult me!"
Ranma spat back.

"Then why did you come at all if you're going to be like this?!"
Akane growled as she grew closer to him with a recoiled face.

"I don't know!! I don't even know why I bother with you!" Ranma
yelled as he too grew closer to her face, he didn't even notice when
the small mirror fell from his pocket.

Tears of frustration fell from Akane's eyes as she went on, "I don't
know why you bothered either! Everything that comes from your mouth
is POINTLESS!!"

The last comment hit a nerve in Ranma, "Why you..!! I wish I could
actually see the future! Then I could see how you end up all alone
and withered because no guy would marry such a tomboy like you!!!"

"Well I wish I could too so I can see how you end up by yourself
teaching to half grade nobody's because you've lost all your skill and
no one even bothers to fight you!!" At the last comment a tear fell
Akane's face and splashed against the mirror on the ground.

Ranma's eyes widened as a bright white light engulfed the two and
within a second, they were gone.

"Akane-chan, Ranma-kun, if you are done lunch is..." Kasumi took a
look around the garden as she approached. "They left? That's odd....
Oh well I'm sure they'll be back soon." Kasumi smiled and walked back
into her kitchen oblivious to the happenings of the house as usual.

*****************************

Ranma was the first to wake after the bright white light.

"Itetetetete...." Ranma raised his hand up to his head and tried his
best to stop the throbbing pain coursing through it. When he opened
his eyes again he saw Akane's body slumped against the ground.
"Akane!" Ranma said out of panic and fear, "Come on Akane wake up!"
He gently shook her shoulders but there was no response. He raised
his head and took a look around much to his surprise they were in the
exact same spot they had been only minutes ago. Her brow furrowed but
he soon remembered Akane and looked back towards her. He set his
index and pointer finger under her chin.

"There's a pulse..." He reassured himself. He saw the faint rise and
fall of her chest and sighed in relief. *She's only unconscious....
that's not always a bad thing.. She can't yell at me this way..* Ranma
grinned but soon remember the position they were in and returned his
gaze to the serious one it had been a minute ago. Gently he picked up
his fiancee in his arms and cradled her. Unlike his initial
reactions, Ranma felt... comfortable? Her warmth and soft breath
against his neck sent his heart racing. Moments before he was ready
to hit her and now it was all he could do to not want to hold her like
this forever. Ranma gulped hard as Akane snuggled herself closer into
Ranma unintentionally. He shook himself mentally and walked towards
the house when he heard a voice coming his way. *Oh good. It must be
Kasumi, maybe she can help me with this....* Ranma hoped as he heard
the voice come closer.

"One second honey!" The voice said, "I'll see who it is... and if
it's a prowler... I'll beat him up.." The voice giggled and approached.

Ranma thought that would be odd behavior for Kasumi but ignored it and
waited for her to come closer.

Ranma nearly fainted when the figure who held the voice of the person
in the house appeared....."Akane????"
