I hate long intros.

Wasure Hibiki. He's mine. I don't mind if you use him, but please ask
first and give credit afterwards.
And now a second dose of Wasure Hibiki...

"WAKE UP!" Akane yelled as Ranma jumped out of bed. Ranma was
thoroughly soaked.
"HEY! Whadja do that for?" Ranma was getting a little tired
of this.
"I SAID GET UP!" Akane slammed the pail onto Ranma's head.
"OW! I AM up!" Ranma lifted her hand to where the pail had
hit. She quickly brought it back. It hurt. "At least gimme an CHANCE
to get up before you change me!" Ranma stormed into the hallway, quite
annoyed.
*click*
"Nabiki!!! Leave me alone! Why doncha just leave me alone?"
Ranma dashed into bathroom to keep them from seeing tears that were
trying to escape her eyes. She turned on the hot water. There was
plenty.
<Hmm... That's right. Where's Pop?> Ranma tried to remember
when she'd last seen him. Going to Dr. Tofu's to work two days ago.
<Maybe Akane's right.> He thought as he settled in to the bath. <Aww.
I guess I'll have to go search for him.>
<I'm sure he's fine. Maybe he got stuck in the zoo again. He
won't leave on his own 'til he's eaten everything they've got.> Ranma
continued his bath...
<That jerk. He'll probably stay in there all day. I don't care if we
never found Mr. Saotome. He's not MY father. I would just
think...> Akane stopped herself. <I mean, if my father was missing...>
Akane stopped herself again. She fought back tears at the
thought. <He's not. I shouldn't even be thinking about it. It's HIS
dad, not mine. My father is right here.> She looked over at her
father, buried in his paper.
Kasumi's breakfast gave her welcome break from her thoughts. Akane ate
and tried not to think anymore. It was bothering her too much...
"Good morning, everyone." Genma walked in the door like he'd
just stepped out.
Kasumi also said, "Good morning, Mr. Saotome," as if he'd just
stepped out. Everyone else just sort of looked at him.
Ranma walked out of the bathroom. "Hey, there you are. Where
ya' been, Pop?"
Before Genma could answer, a blur blitzed in the front door. It soon
materialized into the short ninja that seemed to always find a way to
cause trouble. "I, Sazuke, loyal servant to the noble house of Kuno
bring tidings of great sorrow to the wretched Ranma Saotome. Tell me,
are you missing someone important to you?" He stopped and looked
expectantly to Ranma, who had just now looked down to the nuisance from
his father.
"Whadda you want, Sazuke? Have you kidnapped Akane again?" He smugly
looked at the person in question. She had quietly returned to her
breakfast, ignoring the mocking overtones of her fiance and the
moronic antics of his "nemesis."
"Ha, HA! Of course you, being the slime that you are, do not
realize that no servant of the mighty Tatewaki Kuno could ever
transgress the holy Akane Tendo's sanctity." (This sentence managed to
make Akane, who "wasn't listening," blush) "No, my deed is one that
would injure the scourge that is-"
"Yeah, yeah... Ranma Saotome. Look, pal, get t'the point or
get out." Ranma was getting bored.
Sazuke's eyes shut to slits. "Have you missed your pet?"
Ranma frowned and looked to his father, who had walked into the dining
room to eat breakfast. "My pet?"
Sazuke smiled, knowing he'd struck gold. "It would be a shame
if something were to happen to it, sitting all alone in a cage...
away from the family that loves it and protects it and..."
Ranma didn't hear the rest of the sentence. Ranma couldn't help but
smile as Sazuke painted the picture of a poor, lost pet of the Saotome's
locked away in some dungeon in the Kuno mansion. "Tell me, Sazuke."
Ranma said as he regained a straight face. "Are you sure this animal
hasn't escaped?"
Sazuke took it as an insult that Ranma would suggest that he was
incompetent. "Why of COURSE he hasn't escaped! Do you think I would be
here if he had?" The ninja's face grew red. "I've given him food from
the Kuno's own! And water from the Kuno hot springs! So he wouldn't
escape even if he could! The Kunos are indeed a very noble house you
know! Although I haven't fed him today..." He added this last sentence
as he realized that the mental picture he'd painted of a deep, dark
dungeon had vanished completely.
Ranma did his best to contain his laughter, then asked Sazuke,
"So, whaddaya ask in return for the release of this 'prisoner'?"
Sazuke straightened up again. "The house of Kuno demands, it
does not ask! You, Ranma Saotome, shall break off all relations with
Akane Tendo and allow Tatewaki Kuno the chance to date with her...
otherwise..." Sazuke's grin was wide. "Well... let's not discuss the
alternative."
Ranma had regained his composure and decided to play with
Sazuke <anyone THAT stupid needs to be played with, anyway>. "Tell ya
what, Sazuke. I'm not convinced the animal you're holding is ours.
What if you gave us a chance ta take a look at it first, and if it isn't
ours, you leave me alone for a while."
Sazuke stiffened even more. "You are not in a position to
negotiate! I am the servant of the almighty Tatewaki Kuno..."
"...And you've stolen someone's pet. Either it's ours or
someone else's, and either way you go, that's stealing. Now I could
have Kasumi call the cops and they'd be in the Kuno residence in no time
searching from top to bottom looking for that thing. Or we can make a
deal." Ranma stared at Sazuke.
Sazuke stared back for a couple of seconds. Finally, he said,
quietly and to himself, "I hadn't thought of that..."
Ranma smiled, "Then let me check to make sure it's ours first.
If it is, I'll let Kuno have Akane. If it isn't, you'll leave me
alone."
Sazuke snapped at the opprotunity. "Done!"
Ranma looked back at the table. "But first I'm gonna grab
something to eat."

Wasure walked.
He couldn't remember a time when he wasn't walking. He brought his
right hand up to wipe the sweat off his brow. <Where's my bandanna? I
need to remember to go home and get another one.>
He looked into the sunrise. <I wonder where Ryoga is... I need to make
sure to tell him to come home.... and..... and something else. What
else? I can't remember!>
He stopped walking and pushed both hands on his temples to try
to help himself remember what else he was supposed to do. <It was
important...> ...he dropped to his knees... <why can't I remember what
it is!>
He hit the pavement with both fists as he gave up. As he did
so, he noticed a crumpled piece of paper in his left hand. <What's
this? I can't remember!> He slammed his head into the ground, too.
When he got up, he uncrumpled it and read its contents. A smile
tickled his lips, and he started to laugh. "Of... of course! I knew
that! THAT'S what else I was supposed to do! I remember now!" He
walked again, much faster this time, all the while chattering to
himself. "I knew that! I can't believe I forgot that! That's so easy
to remember!"
He looked into the sky with a new sense of purpose and admired
the beauty of the sunrise. <Ah... that sunrise is so mystical. I
feel so much better. Now all I need is to do is this and bring home
Ryoga and Mom'll be so proud of me! I've never been able to do anything
right, but I can remember to take him home... and... and... and that
something else important I have to do.>
His pace slowed as he wondered what it was. He wiped the sweat off his
face. <Where'd my bandana go?>
