Well, I did a lot of thinking over the past couple of days.
I've decided to say goodbye for awhile. The FFML has a lot of spam, which
distracts from my writing a great deal. When I have to spend an hour
wading through various forms of spam, it means that there's one hour less
for me to write or do C&C. Also, I have the feeling things are kinda sore
right now, so I'm taking a break from here. I will post the Classic Fanfic
Review every Sunday, even while gone, and welcome any ideas for fanfics to
look at.
About Iris: I think it's time I told how the work came to be; it may
explain my reluctance on certain things.
About a month or two back, I got a very interesting idea concerning a
fanfic. Essentially, Ranma traveled about ten years into the future, to
find Akane married to Ryouga (remember that anime ep?) and himself a very
different person. Over the course of the day, he got a chance to talk to
herself, and eventually came to terms with the fact that life without Akane
or manhood would not be that bad.
Well... over the course of the writing, some of the backstory became the
story. Problem is, some people couldn't understand the backstory without
backstory for that, and... well... the idea of multiple permutations of
backstory just tweaked at certain parts of me.
Iris is about Ranma and Kunou. It is not about Akane or Ryouga or anyone
else. They have their own stories, but their events are expressed only in
the way that they are immediately relevant to either character. Hence,
there are only two scenes in the entire work that are not from the
perspective of either of these two. There may be other stories that tell
the other tales of this universe; however, those will be their own stories,
and would be inappropriate to Iris.
And yes, those WILL be their own stories.
