I've seen a couple Ranma fanfics in which someone suggestions getting 

P-chan neutered and 

I was just thinking, what if Akane decided one day to take Shampoo to 

the vet and have 

her spayed?

Their was a Garfield(tm) strip that dealt with this.  I went a little 
something like...

Lymon:  So Jon, I heard you took Garfield to the vet to be de-clawed.

Jon:  Yeah, they're taking his stitches out in two weeks.

Lymon:  Poor Garfield.

Jon:  I was talking about the doctor.

Ukyo:  So, Ranchan, I hear Akane tried to get Shampoo neutered.

Ranma: Yeah, she thought it'd be an easy way to get rid of her.

Ukyo:  How'd it go?

Ranma:  We can find out when Akane gets out of her coma.

Ukyo:  ...
