A thought popped into my mind and I'd like to clear it up.

I believe (although I'm not 100 percent sure about this) that the
Chinese concider children to be one year old at birth (counting the near
year in the womb as the first year of their life). So on their first
birthday they would be 2 years old.

Does anyone know if the Japanese use this same system?

And if they do...does this mean that Akane and Ranma are 15 years old as
far as Americans would figure their ages?
