~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
	By midafternoon, Ranma, Kipp, and Akane had reached the third
	blockade between them and the summit. A guard stood at this
	gate too, looking just as the past three Ranma, Kipp and Akane
	had faced. He was tall and wore yellow clothing and armor, but
	something seemed mysterious about him. He weilded a large
	partisan, almost as tall as he was, and stood poised and ready
	for a confrontation.
Guard:	I am Yanzun. I am impressed that you have made it passed the
	ground three subschools of the Dragons of Night, but you will
	not get passed me.
Ranma:	We'll see about that.
Yanzun: Such an impertinant young lad. Then feel the wrath of Dragons
	of Night Subschool of Deception Special Technique: Ryuko no
	Jigoku!
	The ground before them seemed to rip open as towering flames
	leaped out of it. The flames and rip spread soon encompassing
	the entire group. Ranma and Kipp tried their best to concentrate
	on convincing themselves that this did not hurt, but Akane was
	not as fortunate. Akane found herself flung back into the mountain
	side searing with pain. Ranma and Kipp were both surprised to
	discover they came out unscathed.
Ranma:	What was that?
Kipp:	Of course, the Deception subschool. Known for their illusion
	based attacks seeming so real your mind damages your body because
	of the experience it assosiates with them.
Ranma:	So all of that was...
Kipp:	An illusion, yes.
Yanzun: So, two of you left, aware of my illusions. You won't be so
	fortunate next time.
Ranma:	Kipp.
Kipp:	What?
Ranma:	Look after Akane, will ya? I'm not good with all that medical
	stuff. I can handle him.
Kipp:	Sure.
	Kipp turned his back to Ranma and took out a cloth and some water
	from his canteen and then began to revive Akane. She suffered
	from slight mind-inflicted burns, but those would go away in
	a few minutes once she awoke.
	Ranma turned to Yanzun with his battle aura beginning to flare
	around him.
Ranma:	You're going to pay for that.
Yanzun: Ha! I stand ready. Prepare yourself for what I have in store!
	Yanzun began to produce battle aura as Ranma felt himself become
	prepared for his newest technique. He had found one of Kipp's
	books while on training in the Mountains and found one technique
	he wanted to learn. It took him a while, but he had finally
	mastered it.
	Both battle auras were now ready, Yanzun prepared to throw his
	technique, but Ranma beat him to it.
Ranma:	Fushichou Shouten Hiken!
	A tower of flames burst up from the ground under Yanzun. The
	flames took on the shape of a great flaming Phoenix as they
	rose high into the heavens. The flames reformed, then shot back
	to the ground covering a ten foot circle around Yanzun with
	flames. After they subsided, a badly injured Yanzun collapsed
	on the ground. Akane looked wide eyed with surprise, Kipp
	smiled slightly at the sight.
	After they helped Akane up and become fully revived, they
	continued upwards. As they reached the halfway point to the
	summit, they settled down and made camp for the night. Tomorrow
	would be antoher grueling day.
	Fujiko and Kuno burst into Reiji's chambers with a group of
	guards close behind them. Reiji sat on a throne-like chair and
	stood as they entered. He waived the guards off and then sat
	down.
Reiji:	Well, well, Ko-chan, my darling sister. Welcome. Do make
	yourself at home.
Fujiko:	I'd rather screw a dragon!
Reiji:	That can be arranged if you desire, but come, why don't we
	join forces. Then we could have the whole world as a play
	pen.
Fujiko:	How dare you be so chummy!
Reiji:	Oh, don't be like that. After all, I did go through the
	trouble of finding that nice casket for your sister-in-law.
	Reiji pointed to an expensive looking black casket with intricate
	carvings of dragons and a rose on the top of the casket.
Reiji:	I do hope my men were correct on their mentioning her nickname
	of... what was it... the "black rose"?
Fujiko:	That's nice, Reiji, but don't expect me to go through the
	trouble for your corpse!
Kuno:	My twisted, yet sweet sister... (to Reiji) I shall smite you
	foul demon!
	Kuno charged towards Reiji, but as he drew near he was pushed
	back by an unseen force. Reiji laughed at the attempt on his
	life and saw amusement potential from it.
Reiji:	You want to kill me? I'm flattered. How 'bout I be a good sport.
	We'll play hide and go seek. Ready?
Fujiko:	You're going to die!
Reiji:	(grinning widely) We'll see...
	Reiji dropped a vial and was soon surrounded in a cloud of
	smoke. The smoke entered Kuno and Fujiko's lungs and seared
	them sending them for fresh air. As the smoke cleared, Reiji
	was gone.
Kuno:	Curse you! When I find the I shall destroy thee!
Fujiko:	We, Kuno. We.
	Fujiko and Kuno looked around where they last saw Reiji. Fujiko
	found a loose panel on the back of his seat and pushed it. The
	floor opened revealing a hidden passage to an underground
	cavern.
Fujiko:	Reiji was never one for subtle exits.
	Fujiko and Kuno dropped into the passage and followed it to its
	end. There they found Reiji in a cavern that opened with a view
	of the valley under the mountain range.
Reiji:	My, my, aren't we quick today. Do my dear guests want to play?
Fujiko:	Enough of this Reiji. Now you're going to DIE!
	Fujiko's black battle aura grew around her more than it ever
	did before. Towering like some beast attempting to swallow
	her with a single gulp.
Fujiko:	Take this: Volcanic WRATH!
	The ball of black energy was over three times larger than the
	one Kipp had thrown at her when she first saw him use it. Her
	rage swelled from holding it back from the moment she first
	saw Reiji. The blast hit Reiji like a speeding train sending him
	flying into the wall cracking it, and causing it to fall upon
	him. The silver bracelet around Reiji's arm fell clear off from
	the blow and rolled around, but Reiji got up and brushed himself
	off.
Reiji:	Impressive, but you'll have to do better, sis.
	Reiji moved to the center of the cavern.
Reiji:	Now you'll have a little taste of my power. Jigoku Hi!
	Flames leaped out at Kuno and Fujiko ripping into their very
	souls. Everything burned as if the fires came from within.
	Both fell to the ground rolling in pain, but soon the flames
	disappeared and the burning ceased. Fujiko willed herself up
	and Kuno soon followed.
Kuno:	We are... not through yet!
	Fujiko smiled at his usage of "we" instead of "I" and it seemed
	to refresh her.
Reiji:	Such a true warrior. Much like whats-his-name... oh, I do keep
	forgetting his name...
Fujiko:	Saburo.
Reiji:	Ah, yes, that's it. He died so vehemetly, and so passionatley.
	It warms me so to see you've found another like him.
Kuno:	Enough of this!
	Kuno rushed Reiji swirling his bokken creating the rising
	whirlwind of his Angruuken. Fujiko, seeing Kuno getting himself
	into danger, made a hasty decision to use her remaining strength
	in a blast at Reiji. The blast hit Reiji squarely pushing him to
	the edge of the cliff where he hung. Kuno charged still, but
	Fujiko saw Reiji preparing to launch an attack.
	Fujiko quicky dived at Kuno knocking him away from Reiji and
	into the cavern. The rock ledge broke away as Reiji launched
	his attack. Moments afterwards, a black dragon rose and carried
	Reiji off into the sunset.
Fujiko:	(Thinking) Lucky bastard. Next time you won't have your
	pets to defend you!
	During the night, Ranma and Akane were pleasantly asleep as
	they normally were. Kipp on the other hand was sleeping as
	he always did, interrupted by flashbacks of the past, or
	nightmares.
	A younger Kipp was walking through the mountains with ten or
	more younger students and his master. They came through a
	narrow pass. One of Kipp's best friends, and training partner
	rushed up beside him.
	*Friend* Did you hear about the raid on Xian Fu Mian?
	*Kipp*	 Yeah, another successful attack on a major Dragon's
		 of Night keep. I hope we get to go on them soon.
	*Friend* You and me both. Just think about it: Juvinile 2nd
		 class, Ranzu, and Juvinile SO 1st Class, Kipp Hoshiryuu
		 lead the successful raid of Xao Phan, the Dragon's
	 	 of Night's stronghold!
	*Kipp*	So, you finally found out I was a Special Operative.
		When was this?
	*Ranzu* A couple days ago. I didn't believe it at first, but
		then I saw your track record.
	*Kipp*	I'm not all what I'm cracked up to be. Someday, I will
		be, though. But for now, I'm just here to look after
		people.
	*Ranzu*	And who's going to look out for you?
	*Kipp*	They told me not to worry about that...
	*Ranzu*	Well you tell them that I'm the one looking out for
		you, ok?
	*Kipp*	(smiling) Thanks Ranzu.
	*Master* (stopping the group) There is trouble up ahead.
	*Kipp*	What kind of trouble, master Xianfu?
	*Xianfu* I fear the Dragons of Night are near.
	*Kipp*	What would they want with a group of trainees?
	*Voice* To destroy you all!
	Kipp shot awake from the flashback and looked around. He calmed
	down to see that he was still in his tent, and Akane and Ranma
	were still in theirs.
Kipp:	(thinking) Ranzu... I was not strong enough back then, but now,
	now I shall avenge you, and our friends.
	The next morning, Ranma, Akane, and Kipp packed up and headed
	up the mountain. About one quarter of the mountain from the
	top, they found a second cave guarded by two more of the
	Dragons of Night.
	The guards were almost opposites of each other. One was male,
	short and had dark hair, the other was female, tall and had
	light hair.
Female:	Well, well, what have we here? I am Miru, from the subschool of
	Fate.
Male:	and I am Bura, from the subschool of Time.
Both:	You will not pass us.
Kipp:	You know, they kind of remind me of that old movie called Twins.
Akane:	You're right.
Ranma:	Let's go.
Bura/Miru: Dragons of Night Fate and Time schools Ultimate Technique:
	   Dawn of the Doppelganger!
	Bura and Miru were enshrouded by a blinding light. After it
	subsided, Akane, Kipp and Ranma stared at identical copies
	of themselves.
Ranma:	How are we supposed to fight them if we don't know who are the
	real ones?
Kipp:	(handing Akane a blue scarf) Take this and we'll know you.
Akane:	What about you two?
Kipp:	That will be easier.
	As the sun neared the point of sunset, two guards stood at
	the gate of a large castle-like structure at the summit of the
	mountain. The building bordered the edge of the summit completely
	and had a center courtyard for private ceremonies for its master.
	The guards stood ready as they heard the sounds of someone
	coming up the pass. Around the corner, Akane, Ranma (female)
	and Kipp (female) came slowly up. Each suffered from cuts and
	bruises, and were hurt, but alive.
Guard:	Halt, who goes there?
R-chan:	Uh, we... ah...
K-Chan:	We were invited to the wedding by our friend, the bride. She
	felt she needed companionship during this time.
Guard:	I'm going to have to check on this.
Akane:	Go right ahead.
	A few moments later, the guard came back.
Guard:	I'm going to have to see some sort of written invitation.
K-chan:	(handing him a note) Here you go.
	Ranma and Akane looked at her surprised. The guard took it and
	looked it over.
Akane:	(whispering) Where'd you get that?
Kipp:	(whispering) Our school had a ninja program which I was in for
	a short time. I learned how to copy handwriting, use two swords
	and the skill light walk before I was disbanned from it.
Ranma:	(whispering) What for?
Kipp:	(whispering) I.. uh... lacked one of the more essential skills.
Akane:	(whispering) Like what?
Kipp:	(whispering) I... uh... I'm not to good with throwing weapons.
Guard:	Very well, you may enter.
	The guard took them inside and showed them to a room. Inside
	was richly decorated with several beds, wardrobes, tables, a
	complete sitting room and game room, and other convienences.
Guard:	The wedding will begin in one hour. Please wash up and dress
	for the occassion.
	Ranma and Kipp squirmed knowing exactly what the guard meant.
	Akane felt right at home looking through the three complete
	wardrobes of fancy dresses. She was also trying to hide her
	amusement of the two in their uncomfort. She picked a dress
	for herself, and one for each of them and helped them get into
	it over their normal clothes so they could get out of it to
	fight.
	One hour later, the guard returned and escorted them to the
	castle courtyard, where the wedding set up was complete. On the
	western edge of the courtyard, the castle stopped and gave access
	to a ledge sticking over the mountain. The alter was placed
	at the center of the ledge. As the ceremony progressed, Ukyo
	became more and more nervous, as did the three friends
	trying to sense	the right moment.
	As Ukyo knelt at the altar, across from Zamiru, Kipp (female)
	lept into action ripping off the dress standing in her normal
	clothing Akane and Ranma did similar, but Akane kept her
	dress on, while Ranma wore her normal clothes underneath.
Kipp:	Alright, Zamiru, fun's over!
	The crowd looked up at the three, and the wedding stopped.
Zamiru:	And what is your name, before I have you killed?
Kipp:	Ooooh I'm honored. I'm actually worth killing now?
Zamiru:	I don't know what you mean.
	Kipp pulled out a kettle and poured hot water on himself
	and Ranma. Gasps came from the crowd of on lookers.
Kipp:	Remember me? I was the child you said wasn't worth killing
	as you murdered my parents right in front of me. Now, I get to
	repay you for that experience.
Zamiru:	So, you are the young Hoshiryuu. I've been expecting you, and
	I must say you do look like you've turned out well.
Kipp:	I admit I owe it to you, and now I'm going to use my years
	of training to destroy you!
Zamiru:	I think not. Guards, grab him.
Kipp:	Ready Ranma?
Ranma:	Whenever you are
Kipp:	All set.
	Ranma jumped behind Kipp to position Kipp in between him and
	the oncoming guards, about 10 total.
Ranma:	Hiyruu Shouten Ha, Horizontal Blast!
	Kipp was sent flying towards the guards prepared for his
	strike. Orinignally this was intended to be the Dual Dragon
	Ascent to heaven strike, but they decided on the other one
	instead.
Kipp:	Tatsumaki Keru!
	As Kipp reached the guards, he sent himself into a swirling kick.
	When he struck the guards, another tornado erupted skyward sending
	the guards flying off the mountain. Kipp landed softly on the
	ground afterward.
Zamiru: Impressive. I see I will have to take matters into my own hands.
Kipp:	Do what you will, but you are not taking Ukyo.
Zamiru:	We'll see about that. Kage Arashi!
	Black energy shot from Zamiru and danced around the summit. Kipp
	became the target of all the energy as it swiftly collided into
	him with one massive blow. Kipp felt as if he was about to be
	torn apart from both directions, inside out and outside in. The
	pain was immesurable. The energy drove him into the wall where
	a great deal of it fell upon him. Zamiru laughed wickedly at the
	sight.
Zamiru:	So much for that nuissence.
	The rocks exploded as a red ball of energy flew across hitting
	Zamiru and sending him flying backwards. Kipp emerged from the
	blast moderately injured.
Kipp:	You'll have to do better. I'm not finished with you.
Zamiru:	I see I've underestimated you, but come give up now and you
	might live to see another day. Who knows, perhaps you could
	join me.
Kipp:	Over my dead body.
Zamiru:	Tsk Tsk, that will not be necessary. Prepare young one for the
	Ultimate Technique: Songs of the Night!
	Black mists swirled around Kipp, and massive flows of midnight
	black energy flowed from the ground, Zamiru, almost everywhere
	and arced into Kipp. Kipp's mind went through hell as visions
	of a dark conquest filled them, trying to control him. But he
	shook them off as the visions hit a nerve no one would ever
	dream of touching.
	From within the black swirls, a blue energy began radiating
	outward. Zamiru looked rather pleased with himself. The clouds
	and the black energy dissapated revealing Kipp with a towering
	blue aura around him. His eyes now glowed with red, and his
	skin was pale.
Akane:	Wha... what happened to him?!
Ukyo:	What did you do to him?
Zamiru:	He now belongs to me.
Ranma:	No way...
Kipp:	(with a darkened voice) You'd best be preparing for a funeral,
	Zamiru, for your attack has no effect.
Zamiru:	No way... no... noone could possibly resist that.
Kipp:	(voice returning to normal as his control is regained) From
	all the years I have hated the Dragons of Night, I have gained
	resistance to your persuassion. I cannot be controlled, not by
	you or anyone else. Now feel a technique I saved just for you.
	It normally has only 5 levels, but I developed the sixth just
	for you.
Zamiru:	I'm flattered, but your best is nothing to me.
Kipp:	We'll see.
	Kipp drew a metal blade wich glowed as blue as his aura.
Kipp:	Spirits of the Dragon Blade level 6: Ancestrial Wrath!
	From behind him, five spectral dragons erupted from the aura.
	They swarmed towards Zamiru followed by almost countless number
	of spirits that swirled around tearing flesh from Zamiru. A
	white energy column spouted upwards, and clouds swirled and
	operned up around it. Beams of white light streamed down as
	the spirits converged for a final time around Zamiru.
	Kipp knelt down, now returning to normal color, and a lesser
	aura. After a moment, he got up and walked toward the alter,
	past Zamiru, to where Ukyou was.
Kipp:	You ok?
Ukyo:	Fine, I guess.
Kipp:	Let's get out of her.
Zamiru:	Not.... so.... fast!
	Zamiru got on his knees with a aura forming around him.
Zamiru:	Time for both of you... to... DIE!
	Zamiru struck the ground. Moments later, the ground under Kipp
	and Ukyo exploded sending them flying over the edge of the
	mountain. Akane and Ranma rushed to the edge looking at the
	two falling to the ground below.
Ukyo:	Well, looks like this is it.
Kipp:	Don't talk that way!
Ukyo:	But, we're...
Kipp:	I know, I know, but you owe it to me, and you're much to cute
	to die this early. You can die in ninty years, but I'd rather
	you lived longer.
Ukyo:	Huh?!
Kipp:	Just relax. Leave this to me. (thinking) I really, really,
	REALLY, hope the little refresher course I did on this pays
	off.
	As they fell Kipp positioned himself so Ukyo would fall on him
	when they hit the ground. He began concentrating and estimating
	the impact time.
Ukyo:	What... are you... doing?
Kipp:	If one of us is going to come out with minor injuries, it's
	going to be you. I told you that already!
Ukyo:	But...
Kipp:	Hush now. Don't worry about me. We should both come out alive.
	Kipp placed his hand on Ukyo's forehead and concentrated. A
	blue aura surrounded the both of them as they both hit the
	ground. Kipp first, Ukyo on him, then rolling off. Both
	blacked out.
	Ranma and Akane feared the worse as they watched from high
	above. They quickly went down to find out what happened.
	Ukyo's world soon came back to her. She sat up and looked
	around. She sat near the edge of a crater, and it appeared
	Kipp was in the center. She walked over and checked on him.
Ukyo:	(trying to wake him up) Hey, you alright?
	No response
Ukyo:	(shaking harder) Hey Kipp, WAKE UP ALREADY!
	Still no response.
Ukyo:	(shaking even harder) Come on, you jackass, now you're really
	starting to scare me. You told me we'd both come out alive,
	so GET UP!!
	Still no response. By this time Ranma, Akane, Fujiko and
	Kuno (with Kodachi's casket) arrive.
Ranma and Akane: (relieved) Ukyo!
Ranma:	You're... Ok...
Ukyo:	I'm ok, but Kipp-chan's not...
	Fujiko went to check his vital signs.
Fujiko:	He's alive, but just barely. That was some fall you two took.
	It takes quite a person to shield someone from a blow like that.
Ukyo:	He...
Cologne: Saved your life, at almost the expense of his own.
Ranma:	How'd you get here?
Cologne: Kasumi Tendo told me you came here. I was off to find Shampoo.
Ukyo:	What do you mean almost?
Cologne: Before you hit he used a technique thought the never be able to
	 work. The Shiatsu technique called Inochi Yuketsu, or Life
	 Transfusion. It was attempted over thiry-five hundred years
	 ago by a secret Chineese society. They believed the soul and
	 the body could separate, and that when they did, the body was
	 invincible. The technique transfers the Karma, or the housing
	 of the soul from one person to another, and for an instant,
	 the body is immune to harm.
Ranma:	So you mean.
Cologne: Yes, Kipp placed his Karma into Ukyo. His Karma prevented Ukyo's
	 from leaving, thus keeping her alive, and unharmed. His body
	 only has enough Karma remaining to run itself and to keep it
	 alive. There is no way to tell how long you have to get his
	 Karma returned to his body before it dies...
Ukyo:	Can you restore it?
Cologne: No, I cannot. There is only one person who could help you, and
	 that would be Kipp's master, Shileng, in China, but for now
	 I would suggest getting him somewhere where he'll be safe.
	Cologne helped the four get Kipp's body and Kodachi back to
	Tokyo. Kipp's barely alive body was immediately taken to Dr.
	Tofu who agreed to do his best to keep the body alive for as
	long as possible. All the party could do now was find out how
	to get to China. The Search For Knowledge was on.
