Subject: [FFML] [SPAM] How to name your fusion.

It is of course well known that the proper way to create an Evangelion
fusion is to take the name of the fusee and add "Neon Genesis" or Shin
Seiki."

Examples: SHIN SEIKI SAILORMOON, SHIN SEIKI ARMAGEDDON, NEON GENESIS
BABYLON 5.

It is also well known that any fusion is a good idea, provided it has
not been done before. However, most people do not realize that there
are simple, easily comprehensible rules for creating titles for these
fusions. I have, for the benefit of all mankind, listed some of these
rules right here. All you have to do is

1: Think of two series to fuse,
2: Follow these instructions to get a title, and
2: Write the fusion.

To fuse a series, movie, or novel with

RANMA 1/2: Simply add the figure 1/2 to the end of the original title.

Examples: GODZILLA 1/2, MULAN 1/2, PARTY OF 5 1/2.

Alternatively, the word "half" can be inserted into the title wherever
seems appropriate.

Examples: SLAYERS HALF, HALF AS GOOD AS IT GETS, THINGS TO DO IN DENVER
WHEN YOU'RE HALF DEAD.

This would seem to be enough. However, some strange people write
stories that have nothing to do with Ranma, so I should probably include
them.

SAILOR MOON: The easiest way is to take the name of a main character
and add "Sailor."

Examples: SAILOR RANMA; SAILOR PERRY MASON; SAILOR STRANGELOVE, OR, HOW
I LEARNED TO STOP WORRYING AND BOMBED CRYSTAL TOKYO.

Alternatively, one can replace any noun with the word "moon" or
"Sailormoon"

Examples: THE MOON FILES, MOON FICTION, RIME OF THE ANCIENT SAILORMOON.

Finally, if the title is very short, one can simply prefix it with
"Sailor."

Examples: SAILOR BABYLON, SAILOR MILLENNIUM, SAILOR TITANIC.

KIMAGURE ORANGE ROAD: Any reference to a color or thoroughfare calls out
for a crossover.

Examples: KIMAGURE SESAME STREET, KIMAGURE PURPLE RAIN, KIMAGURE GLORY
ROAD.

DEVIL HUNTER YOHKO, VAMPIRE PRINCESS MIYU, and BUFFY THE VAMPIRE SLAYER
all require a simple name substituion. Are you ready for DEVIL HUNTER
YOHKO ONO, VAMPIRE PRINCESS USAGI, or PEN-PEN THE VAMPIRE SLAYER?
Neither will your readers.

The name substitution trick works in other ways as well. If Marie
Antionette had had a different bodyguard, we might have gotten to know
THE BLACK ROSE OF VERSAILLES. If Tennesee Williams had been an anime
fan, he might have written CATGIRL ON A HOT TIN ROOF. And you will
thrill to the revelations about the two principals in BANANA FISH IN
PAJAMAS.

Who wouldn't read a story entitled MEGUMI PARADISE LOST? or IDOL
PROJECT A-KO?

And wouldn't you feel safer knowing IRRESPONSIBLE MIB KASUMI is guarding
the earth?
