Go Fish

"Got any sevens?"

"Go fish."

Ranma frowned down at his cards.  He had a sneaking suspicion that he
was going to lose this hand too.

"So, what's on tap for this week?"

"Take a look." Akane said, handing him a stack of papers.

"Hmmm �" he said while shuffling through the sheets.  "Self insertion
� Self insertion � Self insertion � Gack!  Isn't there anything else?"

"I sorted them by type."

"Oh, that's not too bad then.  Only three.  Still, it really gives me
the creeps, having someone else in my body making me do stupid or
romantic stuff."

"Really?"  Akane said with a slight smile.  "I think it's kinda fun.
I mean, it's not like I'm not usually getting some extra attention
from it."

"You're not the one being controlled."  Ranma said.

"I don't know � That could be fun too."

"You're starting to sound like Kodachi, you know."

"Got any sevens � Ranma Sama?"  She said in a lilting voice.

"Yes, and stop that � you're scaring me."

Akane just grinned and took his cards.  Ranma continued looking at the
lineup.

"Crossover with Nuku � Crossover with Hyper Police � Crossover with
Miyuki-Chan.  Hey, shouldn't this be in the lemon section?"

"Oops, I suppose so."

"And what is it with the catgirls?!!"

"The fanboys like them."

"Well I don't!"  He said, ignoring her smirk.  "They give me the
creeps."  He started to glower.  "Stupid sadistic fanboys!  What?!!
Stop looking so smug!"

"Your turn, you know."  She said.

"Ok.  Ok.  Got any Aces?"

"No, go fish."

"Let's see �"  He said leafing through more sheets.  "Oh, here's a
gem.  A Ranma, X , Kodomo No Omocha crossover.  Do I really have to
work with Karuta Sana?  Hinako's bad enough as it is."

"Don't worry about it, she's only in the first scene where Akito gets
his sword.  Got any aces?"

"Something really disturbed about that.  Yea, I have two."  He said,
giving her the aces, then shuddering.  "At least it's not a lemon."

"Oh, speaking of�check out the last 10 sheets."  Akane said,
enthusiastically.

"Let's see � 'Prick of the Rose' � 'Lemon Pledge' � 'Hot Nerima
Nights, Part 54' � and � No!  I am NOT doing another yaoi!  Got any
four's?"

"Go fish.  Oh quit whining.  I don't get all flustered when I get
paired up with one of the girls."

"It ain't natural, I tell you.  Last time was with Tsubasa, for crying
out loud!  Ryouga snickered at me for a week!  And you!," he said,
glaring accusingly over at her, "Don't you have any shame?!!"

"Not after 'Shikima'," Akane smirked.  "Got any fours?"

"Yea."  He handed them over to her.  "What ever happened to the good
writers?"

"Good writing takes time.  Got any twos?"  Akane asked.

"Yes.  I was really hoping to see some more of  'Purple Haired
Destiny' this decade."

Akane gave him a dirty look, remembering the role that the fic had
cast her into.

"Or how about more of  'Most unlikely of friends'?"  He mused.

"That would be nice.  Got any Kings?"  She asked.

"Three of them."  He said, passing the cards over.  "You only say that
because you can beat me in that one."

Akane only smiled.

"Got any aces?", he asked.

"Go fish.  Now that you mention it, I would really like to see more of
'Yellow'."

"Or 'Necophobia'."  Ranma countered.  "Talk about teasing the
audience, you ever think we'll see the last part of that one?"

"Who knows.  Got any eights?  You actually *liked* that one?"

"It grew on me."  Ranma said, handing her three cards.  "When's the
next part of 'Hearts of Ice?'

"Not for awhile.  She just came out with Part 20, remember?"

"Yea, but that cliffhanger at the end �"

"Tell me about it."  Akane said, laying her cards down.  "I win."

"Ah man!  You always win."

"So," she said, "anything else interesting?"

"Let's see � Oh no!"  Ranma said, trying not to laugh.

"What?"  Akane asked, concerned.

"This last lemon � 'Shampoo's Night Out' �"

"Yes?"  she said in a leading tone.

"It's by 'Oscar's Understudy' ...."
