At the risk of spawning another thread, those authors who use music
when
writing, what do you listen to?

This is very on-topic, no matter how bad the spawn is :P

Actually, I listen to the symphonic compositions that I've written.
Usually, my
First Symphony in D, "The Emperor." I listen to this because I
generally like
the dark tone that I put in the d minor sections.

Whenever I write about Ukyo I think of the sixth season Ranma 1/2
opening, 'Mo Nakanaide' (translate that any way you wish), in particular
the instrumental version that comes off the Sega CD game sountrack (I
love this one). I've somehow convinced myself that this song was meant
for her, and it seems to help a bit in inspiration to write Ukyo while
listening to it.
I came up with a list of songs I associated with characters on my
fanfiction page:

Only look if you're interested to know what's been going on in my
warped little head....
This got so bad that I ended up writing an entire fic based on songs:
anyone care to remember Battle of the Bands? ;)

"That's my story and I'm sticking to it."--JMS, creator of Babylon 5.
"If you go to Z'ha'dum, you will die."--Kosh, Babylon 5.
"Jump. Jump now!"--Kosh, Babylon 5, making some sense.
