Outlines, notes
Everyone does it differently.
I'll have an idea - a faint one. Usually the first few paragraphs
are easy, but
you need to know where you're going.
I can't do drafts on the computer, but I love to sit in bed with a pad
and pen.
I'll scribble away (and scribble it is - things I have a hard time
reading later), put the
pad by the bed, and go to sleep.
Perhaps it's inspirational, because there have been numerous times when I
actually
DREAM several chapters, and wake up to get to the computer before they
fade
away.
Another what I call "dreaming method" is to take whatever has
been written previously,
print it out, and take it to bed with me. I'll read it until I fall
asleep - have actually found
myself with my nose on the page. The left side of my brain takes
over again and works
out the knots in the plot.
Laugh at me all you like! I don't mind.
