There were a number of kung-fu flicks both prior and after Jackie Chan 
featuring pig-tailed martial artists.  Most of the Boxter stories depict the 
underdog character as Chinese; sporting the shaved forehead and pony-tail 
used to segregate Manchu and Chinese throughout the Ch'in dynasty's reign.
