Redhead MST...
Author's note: If you're wonding where La Blue Girl went, I'll back-track
and tell you later. However, in the meantime, I would like to find an anime
male character that has red, orange or pink hair. If you know of one,
please reply to me via e-mail, not to the FFML at akunz@cctr.umkc.edu. Thanks!

(The scene opens as the Tardis has left the Magic Rayearth Knights realm.
We see A-ko, Washu, Lina, Ranma-chan, and Andrew sitting down and reading
various books. As we get closer, we see that Washu's reading "Cat, You'd
Better Come Home." Andrew's book is entitled "The Phantom Tollbooth."
Ranma's find himself engrossed in the Animorph series. He's reading the
fourth book. A-ko is reading the Sweet Valley High Series, she's on book
103. And Lina is Jay Leno's book about strange and bad headlines. Suddenly
there's a really loud beep. Everyone jumps up and falls on the floor.)
Andrew: What, are we near our destination?
Washu (as she glares at a certain cabbit): No, Ryo-ok-hi is playing with
her tamigotchi.
Ryo-ok-hi (smiling, holding up the little gigapet): Miyaa! (Everyone
face-faults.)

Mother's Gift

This is a Ah My Goddess/Ranma 1/2 fan fic. And unlike my other
stories, this is not a part of any series that I'm working on. This is
a one-shot fic. When it's over, it's over! Though, if someone else
wants to write a continuation of it, that's their perogative, just tell
me about it, and give me the credit I deserve, and everyone will be
happy.
Andrew: I knew there has to be more than just mere coincindence that Kasumi
and Belldandy have the same actress doing their voice-over!
This happens sometime after the final manga issue of Ranma 1/2, and
after the last episode of the Ah My Goddess anime.
I don't own these character, and I'm just using them for
entertainment value, No copyright infringement is intended, so don't sue
me!
Ranma: Yeah, yeah, we'll see you in court.
All my past fan fics can be found at RAAC archives.
I've never heard a name given to Mrs. Tendo in the official
storyline, and most of the stories that I've read give her the name of
Kimiko, so I decided to go with the flow.
Washu: Otherwise known as the "She Whom Must be Obeyed."
And now, I give you, Mother's Gift.
Lina: With strings attached. It always does.

"Blech! And here I thought Kasumi cleaned everywhere!" Nabiki
Tendo muttered to herself. While her older sister was extremely tidy,
and thorough, the attic looked like it hadn't been cleaned in ages.
"Well, I guess even Kasumi has her limits, not that I blame her, Yuch!
But this is going to make it alot harder to find that stuff."
Nabiki had decided to go over some old family documents, hoping to find
something that her father may have forgotten to mention, like a secret
family inheritence that she could use to get some money into their
meager savings account.
Lina: A new paragraph should start here.
<Right!> Nabiki thought, sarcastically <And
it'll turn out we're actually richer than the Kuno's.> However, she was
having problems blackmailing her fellow students. She'd already
squeezed most of them dry of any money, and there wasn't anything that
she could do with the favors that they owed her until some 'opportunity'
came up. Sales of pictures of Ranma had gone down since the wedding
fiasco, Akane and Ranma were still mad at her for that one. At the
moment, the fact that the Kuno's were obsessed with their respective
loves, Ranma for Kodachi, and Ranma-chan and Akane for Tatewaki Kuno,
was the only thing keeping the family solvent, that and the many
investments she had made over the years.
Nabiki quickly sorted through several boxes of stuff, mostly
children's clothing from when the three sisters were younger.
Andrew: The other boxes were from a certain warehouse from Washington D.C.,
containing a certain Ark.
Ranma: Yeah, and Fermat's written copy of his last theorem is in there as
well.
Washu: AND copies of Vince Foster's files, NOT shredded up, by the way.
These got
a chuckle out of her, as she remembered how her younger sister had been
back then. Then, she opened one box, and on top was an official
document. <This looks promising> Nabiki thought. Intrigued, Nabiki
looked at it more closely. As she looked through it, she was stunned.
It was her father's birth certificate, but the name listed was for a
Soun Ohken. Quickly she replaced all of the boxes, dusted her jeans
off, and went in search for her father. She found him in his usual
place, playing Go with his best friend, Mr. Saotome.
Lina: With a name like Ohken, no wonder he took the Tendo name.
"Dad, I was looking through some of my old things and came across
this." She said, handing him the certificate. Soun glanced at it,
while Mr. Saotome took the chance to move some of the pieces around.
"Why, that's my birth certificate. I haven't seen that in years."
he exclaimed. Mr. Saotome looked over his shoulder.
"Yes, Dad, I realized that." Nabiki said, "What I was wondering
was; why you changed the family name?"
Washu (imitating Nabiki): And why does it have the date, April 31, 1946?
Soun Tendo looked at his daughter, with tears in his eyes. "It was
part of our marriage agreement. Your mother insisted on keeping her
family name." Mr. Saotome nodded his head in agreement. After all, he
had been there for his best friend at the wedding.
A-ko: Now THAT had to have been some wedding.
Ranma: Ah, heck, Genma would have been an usher, anyway.
"So. . . Tendo was 'Mom's' family name? I was just curious."
Actually, it would be safe to say that curiosity, aside from
intelligence, was Nabiki's most defining trait. After all, it was her
curiosity that had led her to find out those things that had lead to her
career in blackmail. She wondered why her mother had made her father
change the family name, was there something important about being named
Tendo? It was a nice enough name, though your family being named 'The
Way of Heaven' was a bit much, she thought. She would have to look into
this. <After all,> she thought to herself, <for once, this is
personal.>
All this time, Kasumi was upstairs cleaning, when two feminine
hands came over her eyes.
"Guess who, Kasumi-chan." The woman said.
(All imitating Kasumi...)
A-ko: Mother Teresa?
Ranma: Elvis?
Andrew: Kenneth Starr?
Washu: Princess Diana?
Lina: Janet Reno?
"Mama!" she answered, and laughed as she turned to embrace her
mother. "I'm so glad to see you! But, why did you come? Nabiki and
Father are here. What if they see you?" Kimiko Tendo frowned. as she
sat on her daughter bed.
Andrew (as Mrs. Tendo): Don't worry, I've deleted the number to the Extreme
Ghostbusters and Sailor Moon.
"Don't worry, my dear one, I put a small spell that will make sure
we aren't interupted." Kimiko shook her head. "Kasumi-chan, I wish I
could have told them that I was only leaving, not dying, but Father
would only allow me to tell you children, and then, only when you were
old enough. Then that mess in the other planes came up, and I had to
leave before your sisters were old enough to be told." Kimiko looked at
her oldest daughter and sighed.
Ranma: Translation...
A-ko: Kasumi gave Kimiko a digital Cellurar phone.
"Kasumi, the time has come for your sisters to know about my side
of their heritage."
Lina: You mean they're related to Andrew Jackson?
Andrew: That's the Hermatage!
"Does that mean. . . ?"
Kimiko shook her head. "No. As much as I wish it did, I still can
only leave the other plane for a short time. I have talked with some of
my relatives living here in the mortal world, and they have agreed to
help explain everything." She handed Kasumi a piece of paper. "This is
the address where they are staying with the middle sister's human
boyfriend. It's a temple they rebuilt." At the phrase, 'human
boyfriend,' Kasumi winced.
"Does he know about . . . ?"
Ranma: ...motorcycles?
A-ko: ...the meaning of life? (Ryo-ok-hi holds up a sign reading, "42!")
Andrew: ...programming a VCR?
Lina: ...how to win against the demon boss in Tekken 3?
Washu: ...the masked magician?
"Yes. He met Belldandy through a wish, and he ended up wishing for
her, but she was already in love with him. It's a long story. Anyway,
her sisters are staying around for their own reasons, and they'll be
able to help you." Kimiko quickly got up off the bed, and hugged her
eldest daughter.
"I have to go now. Remember everything I taught you, and I love
you." With a sudden gesture from her arms, Mrs. Tendo was swiftly
surrounded by a vortex of mist which engulfed her, then vanished,
leaving nothing behind.
Andrew: But the room was spotlessly clean!

"Hi Bell-chan." Keiichi Morisatto said. It always amazed him that
there was a woman in love with him. Even more so since, not only was
she kind, beautiful, and a great cook, she was also a kami. Oh sure,
there were problems sometimes, such as when her older sister Urd tried
to get the two of them together using love spells, or with her younger
sister Skuld tried to break them up out of jealousy. Then there was
Mara, a demoness who just seemed to get some kind of perverse joy out of
making their lives miserable. One thing was for certain though, he
would take all that trouble and more, and all he would do would be
greatful, just to be with this divine woman whom he loved. "What's up?"
"Hi Kei!" Belldandy said with her usual cheerful air. "Some of
our relatives are coming over for a visit, remember?"
Washu (imitating Keiichi): Oh, Kami, you've invited Kramer, didn't you?!
"Oh yeah, right. I forgot." A huge sweatdrop appeared on his
head. You may find it strange that someone could forget about his
girlfriends relatives coming for a visit, especially when those
relatives are likely divinities, but living with three goddesses, and
the assaults of a demon had made Keiichi somewhat matter-of-fact about
it. Unless it was her Parents, Kami-sama/God/Odin/Yahweh and
Gaia/Isis/Amaterasu Omikami. He had yet to meet them, since, according
to the goddesses, they rarely, if ever, left the Heavens. Especially
their mother.
Washu: Kami-sama may be the God of All Gods, but even his wife rules over him!
"So, where should I expect them to pop out of?" Keiichi asked.
Every goddess that he had met had their own prefered medium of
teleportation, they said it required less of their own strength to do it
like that instead of simply appearing or disappearing. If you didn't
know that they were going to show up, it could cause some embarssing
situations. When Skuld first showed up, Keiichi had been taking a hot
bath, and Skuld's medium was hot water. Needless to say it hadn't been
pretty.
Lina: And I bet the sex scenes were absolutely divine!
Everyone else: Lina!!!
"Nowhere, really. They'll be walking." Belldandy answered,
putting the finishing preprations on a meal. Keiichi scratched his
head. <Walking, huh?> he thought, <Well that's a first.>

"Could somebody explain to me, why we are doing this?" Nabiki
asked, irritatedly. She had been planning on checking up on some
records that might give her more information about her mother and her
family. Instead, she and her two sisters, Kasumi and Akane were riding
in a train to a different part of Tokyo, supposedly to meet some friends
of Kasumi's from highschool. Nabiki found this highly unlikely. Not
that Kasumi hadn't been popular in school, but if it was one of her
friends, why bring the two of them as well?
Andrew: Questions, questions. You always have questions, Nabiki!
"Very well, Nabiki," Kasumi said. "You see, I told a little fib.
We 'aren't' going to see some of my friends from school. We are going
to visit some of Mother's family. I didn't want to upset Father, so
when I found out that they were in Tokyo, I decided that we ought to
meet them. They are, after all, family."
Ranma: Now, THAT'S a first.
Nabiki was stunned, as far as she could remember, Kasumi had never
even told a small fib, not even a white lie. She might make something
sound nicer, but never had she actually lied. This would bear some
investigating.
A few moments later, the three sisters found themselves in front of
a large temple that someone had transformed into a house, or to be more
exact, a home. Kasumi smoothed out her dress and knocked at the door.
Within seconds, a beautiful young woman opened the door.
"Ah, hello there. I am Belldandy. You must be Kimiko's daughters.
Come in, please." Belldandy motioned for them to come in, with an
expectant yet joyful look on her face.
<We have 'got' to be related to them!> Nabiki thought to herself.
<There's no other way that Kasumi and this Belldandy could be so
similar. Though> She thought with a frown, <I don't remember Mother
being a gajin.>
(Ryo-ok-hi looks at Washu.)
Ryo-ok-hi: Miyaa?
Washu: No, Ryo-ok-hi, Kimiko is not from New Jersey.
"Here you go," Belldandy said as she guided them into the living
room, and motioned for them to sit down. There were three other people
in the room with them. One was a short japanese man, the other two were
ladies. One was an beautiful, statuesqe, older woman, with tan skin and
platinum blond hair, who looked like she could be partially japanese,
and the second was a younger girl, twelve to thirteen at the most, with
jet black hair, who looked vaguely like Belldandy.
Ranma: Let's see...Urd's a schemer like Nabiki, and Skuld pulls mallets out
from thin air, like Akane. I think we know who's who.
"These are my sisters, Urd," Belldandy said, gesturing to the
blond, "and Skuld." and she gestured to the younger girl. "And this is
Keiichi Morisato. Please, sit down. Dinner will be ready shortly."
And with that, Belldandy glided out of the room.
Nabiki looked at her newly discovered relatives. As far as she
could tell, from the look Keiichi gave Belldandy as she left, it was
obvious that he was in love with her, and it looked like Belldandy was
in love with him too, from the way she had said his name. That brought
several questions to mind; were they lovers? How did Belldandy's
sisters fit into this?
Lina (wincing): You know, that last question is really badly worded.
A-ko: Admit it, Lina, you're a hentai beyond all compare.
All the while, Urd was evesdropping on her
thoughts. <Not bad.> She muttered to herself as Nabiki mentally
generated some schemes to make use of this information. <I may be able
to use this girl to help get Belldandy and Lover-boy together. Though
we'll have to break her of blackmailing people. Kami-sama would have a
fit when he found out. At least she does it for a good cause, so he
might go easy on us.> Urd mused.
Belldandy quickly walked back in, carrying a small tea service.
She quickly served the tea, handing everyone a cup. Her friendly smile
grew just a bit as she handed Keiichi his cup. Then she sat down with
her own cup of tea. The group drank in silence, until, Nabiki curiously
asked a question.
"So, how is it that you were related to Mother?"
"We have the same parents." Urd said, offhandly.
Andrew: That must be one hell of a knothole in the family tree.
Washu: If your family tree does NOT fork...then you might be a red-neck.
<BRRRTTT>
Akane and Nabiki quickly wipped the tea from their mouths and
stared in shock at Urd. Keiichi just sat listening with interest. He
had always been a bit curious about how all the gods and goddess were
related, especially when he found out that Kami-sama was there father.
For a few moments, the younger Tendos looked at their newly discovered
aunts with amazement. That didn't last too long however.
"You have WHAT?!" Akane asked shocked. She couldn't believe it.
These women were her mother's sisters? Kasumi just sat there, as calm
as always. She had already been informed about their mothers family
when told of their mother's status as a goddess.
"You see," Belldandy began, "We have a very large family.
Lina: Man, I'd hate to arraign one of those family reunions.
Ranma: Yeah, but think of all of the food that would be there. (Ranma &
Lina drools.)
A-ko: If you go to family reunions to pick up DATES, you might be a red-neck.
Because
of this, and because of difference in our ages, most of us don't really
think of ourselves as brothers and sisters. That is, unless we tend to
work together alot, or have similar natures." With that, Belldandy
turned to smile at her two sisters.
"It may not look it, but in fact we're triplets." Urd said with a
grin. She got a bit of a kick from knocking these girls off balance.
Andrew (signing): Swweeet Vaalley, Sweeet Vallleeey Hiiiiiiiigh! (A-ko
covers her ears.)
A-ko: Andrew! That's pathetic!
Washu: You should see him sing the theme song for "Swan's Crossing." It's
even worse.
Ranma: Never heard of it.
Washu: It's a teen-soap opera show of the early eighties. The girl that
plays Buffy on WB's "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" started out as a character
there. The show lasted six months.
Akane seemed to remind her of Skuld. Not that Akane seemed to be
mechnically inclined, but rather the fact that both seemed to wear their
hearts out in the open, making it easy to push their buttons.
Ranma: Let's not forget the mallets.
"How can you 'not' think about being someone's sister? How big is
our family?!" Nabiki asked. This was a total shock to her. She had
spent quite a bit of time looking into her mother's past. However, all
she could find was a marriage certificate for her parents wedding.
Skuld pulled out a small calculater and began typing on it.
"We have approximately 678,243 brothers and sisters."
A-ko: Give or take a few thousand siblings.
She
announced after a moment. Nabiki, Akane and Keiichi all stared at her.
<I never realized there were that many.> Keiichi thought to himself.
"That's impossible!" Akane said. "No one can have that many
children! It's not humanly possible!"
Ranma: Ever heard of in-breeding, Akane?
Washu (imitating Keiichi): Are you sure you come from Heaven or Arkansas?
"Ha! That's because we aren't mortals." Skuld said, disgustedly.
"We're goddesses. Well, some of us are." The look she gave Keiichi
left no doubt to her meaning. Nabiki and Akane just stared. It was too
much. They had both encountered alot of strange things over the past
year or so, but the fact that these three women were their aunts, and
that they said they were goddesses was too much. They both started to
giggle, then after a moment. They burst out laughing.
Lina (imitating Akane and Stan): Nabiki farted!
"Oh My." Kasumi said. She had decided on her way to the temple
that it would be much easier if she just allowed the three goddesses to
explain things. But now she saw that she needed to take a hand in
matters. As she quickly went over two Akane, she saw Belldandy going
over to Nabiki. The two ladies touched the shoulders of the younger
Tendo sisters, and a calming, soothing glow appeared around them,
flowing into the woman they were standing by. The hysterical laughter
quickly subsided, and the glow faded away. Kasumi looked steadily at
her two sisters.
"It's all true. These three women are our aunts, and they, and our
mother, are all goddesses."
Andrew: That should read, "It's all true. These three women are our aunts.
They, and our mother, are all goddesses."
Ranma (imitating Nabiki): Oh, yeah? Where's ya birth certificate, huh?
Nabiki took a deep breath and began to focus her formidable
intellect. She tried to concentrate, to sort through the information
given to her.
"Kasumi, what's going on?" Akane pleaded. Most of the time,
whenever anything strange happened, she could always blame it on Ranma,
Ranma (imitating Nelson from Simpsons): Ha-ha!
or things were happening too fast for her to ever really effect her,
since she would usually be too busy fighting for her life or freedom.
However, things seemed to be getting strange, and there was nothing else
she could concentrate on to try and sort things out. So she turned to
the one stable constant in her life, Kasumi. Kasumi and Belldandy moved
to sit down, but instead of resuming their previous positions, they sat
next to Akane and Nabiki.
"You see, when I turned seven, I began to notice some things,
things that the adults didn't see. When I tried to ask about them,
Father thought that I was just imagining them, but when I asked Mother,
she took me too her room, and told me the truth. She was, and still is,
a goddess.
Washu (imit. Kasumi): And then she told me of her love affair with Mulder
from the X-Files.
Kasumi looked into the stunned faces of her sisters, and decided
that it was best if they new the whole story as quickly as possible,
since they seemed to be somewhat numb at the moment. "Mother explained
that what I was seeing was really part of her fathers gift to all of his
descendents. That most people couldn't see them because they weren't
ready to. You may have noticed that our hosts have those marks on their
faces." She said, motioning to the three goddesses. "Those marks are
their diety signs. They are invisible to most people, but to someone
who is even partially a god, they can be seen.
"Mother told me that her father father's gifts would come to us,
only after we had turned seven, and that she couldn't tell any of us
about it until after that. Since Mother left us before either of you
started showing signs of your powers awakening, you were never told.
Since you are old enough now, however, it was deemed time that you
knew."
"Mom is dead, Kasumi, and gods don't die." Nabiki said calmly,
almost too calmly. "Gods can't exist, if they did, then Mom wouldn't
have left us."
Andrew: Therefore, Nietchze was right: God is dead!
Washu: And therefore, we're just characters in the fan-fic of life.
Kasumi sighed. "You're right, gods 'can't' die. Mother is very
much alive." For a brief moment, naked pain and need flashed on
Nabiki's face. The pain and need for a mother who was no longer there.
It was quickly covered over by red-hot anger.
"Mother's dead, Kasumi! Dead, dead, DEAD! Ever since you've been
living in your own privite dream world, where mother is alive and
nothing strange or bad happens to us, but it's not the real world!"
Lina (imit. Nabiki): And we're in Tokyo, not Seattle!
Ranma: I'll take a grande chocolate mocha with no cream please?
As
Nabiki ranted, Kasumi closed her eyes, and reached out with a glowing
hand. Nabiki quickly calmed down again. Akane's eyes grew wide. She
had been looking at her two older sisters this entire time, and when
Kasumi's hand had begun to glow, three strange marks, similar to the
ones on the three self proclaimed goddesses faces appeared, and faded
with the glow.
"Now that you've gotten that out of your system," Kasumi said,
opening her eyes, "I can go on with my story.
Washu (imitating Paul Harvey): And now, here's the rest of the story...
"Mother told me that she had been on Earth, or as she called it,
the Mortal Plane, doing some research when she met Father. It was love
at first sight, she said. He was still studying under Grandfather
Happosai at the time, but she could see the good man that he was. She
had to do some fast talking to her Father, but in the end, she was able
to gain permission to visit our world. Eventually, after she and some
of her family help seal Happosai away in that cave, she and Father
married. Her Father told her, as part of the condition so that they
could marry, that she could never reveal her true identity to Father, or
to us, until we had each reached a certain age. Before you were old
enough, our Grandfather,
Andrew: who art in heaven...
summond Mother back to Heaven, and informed her
of something that urgently required her assistance. She had to leave
us, and make everyone who didn't know her true identity believe that she
had died.
Ranma: Great, the vampire/Highlander plot hole.
"She's been allowed to visit us for short periods of time, but
never long enough to talk to you, and explain everything. It's only
because our aunts here are staying on the Mortal Plane that you've been
told now." Kasumi then sat down and sipped her tea, and calmly looked
at her aunt Belldandy. Belldandy calmly, with a wave of her hand,
altered her clothing to her goddess uniform.
A-ko: Which strangely looked like a second Captain uniform from the
Robotech series.
"Would you like to see your mother?" Belldandy asked. Nabiki,
still under the influence of Kasumi's calming spell, and Akane, still
too stuned by everything, simply nodded. Belldandy quickly turned to
her sisters and Keiichi, and the three goddesses quickly linked hands in
a circle around the Tendo sisters, and closed their eyes. From the
strange mark in each of the Norns foreheads, a beam of light shot up to
the ceiling, through it, and into the heavens. The goddesses began to
float into the air, and from the heavens, as if in answer to the light
that the goddesses had sent, a rainbow of unparalelled beauty came down,
and eveloped the six ladies.
Andrew (singing): Raainboow Bright! See...urk! (We see A-ko with a mallet
looking at an unconscious Andrew.)
A-ko: I HATED that series!
Once it was gone, so were the six young
women, leaving behind one Keiichi Morisato.
Ranma: Then Keiichi went back and fixed up his motorcycle, while listening
to Car Talk.
(We snip out the part two introduction to continue this MSTing...)
The great rainbow surrounded the Tendo sisters and their aunts the
three Norns. The Tendos were in awe of the rainbow light that
surrounded them, it's beauty was dazzling to behold. Then suddenly, it
was over. The six found themselves in front of a giant gateway, besides
which stood a giant of a man, with a sharp eye he looked at all of them,
and nodded. Though he did stare at Urd and the Tendo sisters for a
moment before nodding. His stare was quite intimidating for the Tendos,
though Urd just stared right back at him.
"This is Heimdall. It's his job to guard the Gates of Heaven, and
make sure that only those who are allowed to enter this realm."
A-ko: Hey, how come I can't get a Bud Light!
Andrew (imit. Heimdall): I gotta see if you're on the list.
A-ko: But, I'm a goddess! You can't do that to me!
Ranma: Is there a problem, Heimdall?
Andrew: Nothing that I can't handle, Urd. (Ryo-ok-hi imitates the sound of
a bottle of beer being opened.)
Ranma (patting on Andrew's back): That's what I'd like to hear.
Belldandy said. Urd who was still in a staring contest with Heimdall
didn't pay any attention to the conversation, she just started to lick
her lips. This seemed to snap Heimdall out of his concentration and
made him quite nervous. Skuld just gave the two a look of disdain and
went in.
"I thought that Saint Peter was supposed to be in front of the
Gates." Kasumi said. She had been very interested in her Mothers
family, so after their Mother had left, she had read a great deal on the
myths and legends of various cultures, and was very curious about which
ones were correct.
"Pete deals with the other Gate, the one mortals usually enter
through." Urd said absent mindedly.
Washu (imitating St. Peter): Next! You're a real winner...
"You see, Kasumi," Belldandy said, as she led them through, "Heaven
is not just one place,
Andrew: It's in Cleveland!
it is an almost infinite realm. There are the
worlds where the gods live, like our home Asgard, and Olympus, and
several others. Then there are the worlds were humans pass on to.
You'll be told more about them when you get your certification."
Lina: If it has to do with being a lifeguard, I'm leaving.
"Certification?" Nabiki asked. Anything that had to do with
licensing or certification meant that she might have a chance to make
some money. <Of course,> she thought to herself, <I'm related to the
gods, so money might not be as important from now on.>
Andrew: Obviously, you have not met either Loki or Hades.
"Of course, certification!" Skuld said. "Do you think they let
just anyone have the powers of a diety and grant wishes? You have take
tests, and do various jobs, and . . ."
Washu: Great, the gods are no more powerful than Dilbert.
Andrew: That's actually a scary thought.
"That's enough, pipsqueek, they get they idea!" Urd said. Skuld
stuck her tounge out at her big sister. Kasumi, Nabiki, and Akane were
slightly surprised to see two goddesses arguing like that. Belldandy
quited them down with a few words, and the group continued on through
the realm of Heaven known as Asgard.
A-ko: Not to be confused with Asgrow, the seed manufacturing company.
Andrew: Nor to be confused with the Aztecs, a ancient civilization that
died out after Pizarro went crazy in Mexico.
Ranma (looking at Andrew): Must have been the Coronas they drank.
The group walked for several minutes, the three Tendo sisters
playing tourist to the marvels of Heaven, and the Norns enjoyed their
amazement at their home. They continued on like this until they
encountered a giant obilisc with great golden doors. Belldandy opened
them with a wave of her hand, and they entered into . . . the Tendo
home!
Andrew: Too corny. I mean, you go up to heaven and there's a recreation of
your house on earth?
Ranma: It happened in the "Last Days of Narnia."
The Tendo sisters stared in awe at the exact recreation of their
home. Suddenly, a voice, dimly remembered by the three sisters spoke in
quivering tones.
"Kasumi, Nabiki, Akane?" The girls turned slowly, and found their
mother, Kimiko Tendo, had come in to the room while they had been
occupied looking around. Kimiko rushed to them with tears in her eyes,
and gathered them all in a hug. Akane and Nabiki just started to cry,
hugging their mother as if afraid that she would vanish like a dream.
The three Norns, quickly and quietly left the Tendos to their reunion.
After a few moments, the four seperated. Kimiko looked at her three
daughters, smiling with tears in her eyes.
"My three little girls . . .you've all grown up now." She said,
and led them over to the table. With a wave of her hand, a small meal
appeared in front of them.
Ranma: Hmm...that explains why Akane isn't a good cook.
"Eat. Tell me all about what's happened to you." Kimiko said.
"Kasumi-chan has been telling me about some of it, but I want to hear it
>from you." Akane and Kasumi then started to tell of the craziness that
the Tendo family had been experiencing for the past couple of years.
Nabiki, recovered a bit from the crying, said very little. This seemed
to sadden Kimiko a bit, but she understood. She was very glad that
Akane was so popular with the boys, though she was irritated that their
father hadn't stopped the fights before school, long before Ranma had
shown up. She muttered about doing some checking about the Kuno family.
She also was very interested in Ranma and what the girls thought about
him. Akane stated that he was an insensitive jerk, and Kasumi said that
he was very compassionate, though his father's influence made it
difficult for him to deal with people. Kimiko nodded as if expecting
that. She then turned to Nabiki.
Lina: I think this would have been better as a dialogue between Kimiko and
the girls than just handing it out on a platter for the readers. This kinda
bores them.
"Nabiki-chan, what's been going on in your life?" She asked.
"Why do you care? You've been gone for over ten years, why should
you get back into our lives now?" Nabiki asked. Now that she had
gotten over the shock of seeing her mother again, she was enraged that
her Mother, the most important person in her life had left them when
they need her so much. Kimiko set down the tea that she had been
drinking, while Akane and Kasumi looked between the two of them
apprehensivly. Kimiko had been expecting this question, and was ready
for it.
Andrew: "Apprehensively."
Ranma: Besides, I think we already can figure out that Nabiki is past her
shock over seeing her mom again.
Washu: And the sentences are waay too long.
A-ko: Geeze, guys, since when do we get to be so critical?
"Nabiki, we gods and goddesses have much more power than most
mortals, but we must pay for that power by having a great deal less
freedom. I left you because there is another dimension that exists
between Heaven and Earth that is in great trouble.
Lina (imitating Kimiko): I didn't want the Oakland Raiders win the Super Bowl.
If I didn't help,
it, and everyone in it would have been destroyed. If that had happend,
then the effects would have been felt throughout the Mortal Plane. If I
had allowed that to happen, I could never have forgiven myself.
"It was the hardest thing I've ever had to do to leave you three,
but I knew that your Father loved you, and would take good care of you."
Just then there was a ringing sound from a nearby phone. Kimiko
quickly went over to it, and after a quick conversation, hung up, and
came back to them.
"That was my Father, He wants me to bring you to his office right
away." With that said, she quickly walked to the doorway, where she was
met by the three Norns, who had been waiting in the living room.
As the seven walked through the streets of Asgard, Skuld walked
over to her niece, and attempted to start a conversation. Akane only
listend half-heartedly, until the subject of Akane's hammer came up.
Ranma: ...and down on Akane's head.
". . . So I decided that since you'ld be having a lot of problems
with pests like that, I decided to add in an enchantment to it so that
you could get it anytime you needed to deal with one."
Ranma: THAT explains it.
The one-sided
conversation continued on in the same vein, as Skuld continued on about
her creations. What Skuld had said bothered Akane. Did she think of
Ranma as a pest? Sure, she had punch, kicked, and thrown things at him.
Sure she had broken their engagement to him, and got mad that he
constantly tried to protect her, but she didn't think of him as a pest.
(Everyone else grins at Ranma, who is getting nervous.)
Lina: Saaay, Ranma, do you consider Akane a pest?
Ranma: Um...wwww...IIII...ah, heck. (Starts to cry) NO!
. . did she? Kimiko felt the emotional pain coming from her youngest
daughter, and inwardly weeped. Even though she was their Mother, to the
three of them, she was little more than a stranger, one who they felt
had betrayed them. She had made her peace with Kasumi, but until her
younger daughters forgave her, and were willing to open up to her, there
was nothing she could do to help them. Then, help came to Akane, from
an unexpected source.
A-ko: I don't know, do we really need to know Kimiko's reaction?
Andrew: A little bit, but not this much. The last sentence should be deleted.
"Those whom we love the most, are often the ones who irritate us
the most."
(Everyone grins again at Ranma.)
Ranma: Man, I hate it when the fan-fic's right...
Andrew: Even though you'd still rather be a bachelor, right?
Ranma: Well, yeah.
Akane turned to the source of this advice, Urd.
"What do you know about what I'm going through?" She asked
angrily. Urd simply smiled at her
"My primary duty is being Goddess of the Past, but one of my lesser
jobs, is as the Cupid of Love. When I found out about who was coming, I
checked the history files on you. When I read about your fights with
your fiance, I knew that you were either in love, or hated each others
guts, and from what I could tell, you definitly don't hate each other.
"When I heard what Skuld was talking about, I just put two and two
together."
Washu: And it made 16.
This made Akane feel much better. For some reason, she found
herself liking this aunt of hers. At first, Urd's blatant sexuality had
reminded her too much of Shampoo with Ranma, but she was begining to get
the feeling, that Urd was more like her sister Belldandy than she would
be willing or able to admit. With that thought, the seven proceded to
Kami-sama's office.
Andrew: Where Kasumi got player of the month honors. Akane and Nabiki were
each suspended 8 games for inciting the brawl.
A-ko: That's it, Andrew. No more fantasy baseball for you.
*********************************************************************
It was the next morning, and the Tendo sisters were still in
Heaven. Belldandy and her sisters had returned to Earth, but came back
just after breakfast. Akane broached a subject that she had been
thinking about since the last day.
"Mother," she said to Kimiko, "Urd told me that there are files on
us, here in Heaven."
(Ryo-ok-hi plays the theme song to the X-files. Everyone looks nervously at
Washu.)
Washu: She's a spaceship, I had to include a radio with a CD-player!
"Yes," Kimiko said, "There are files on everyone in the Heavens and
the Earth here. We even have some files on demons, but those aren't
that uptodate. Why?"
Andrew (imitating Akane): Well, I'd like to see what you've got on the
demon Happousai?
"Could I take a look at them?" Akane asked. Nabiki quickly chimed
in that she would be interested too, since any files in Heaven would
almost definitly have some good secrets she could use to help her
business. Since none of the goddesses could see the harm in it, they
were taken to the main work station for the Yggsdrail computer.
Lina: You know, I'm expecting Dilbert to waddle in any moment now.
Skuld and Urd quickly logged on with the ease of old pros, and went
into the personal files area. Information flashed on the screen.
"Who's do you want to see?" Skuld asked.
"How about, Ranma, Ranma Saotome?" Nabiki said. Skuld quickly
typed some keys.
Ranma (averting his eyes): Oh, god, I can't bare to look!
"Here it is!" Skuld said. Everyone crowded around the computer
screen.
"What language is that?" asked Nabiki,
Washu: Norweigan.
Andrew: Latin.
A-ko: Sanskrit.
Lina: Lawyer-ese. That's the hardest language to understand.
looking at the strange
markings that her cousin Skuld claimed was the entry for Ranma in the
computer system that ran Creation itself.
Andrew: Unfortunately, at that point, the system crashed.
"Sorry. Forgot that you can't read the language of the gods yet."
Skuld quickly typed in a quick command and it quickly changed to
Japanese. Now, at the top of the screen was a name.
NAME: RANMA SAOTOME
"Let's see," Skuld muttered, "Birthdate, blood type, ah-here's what
you're looking for!"
CURRENT METAPHYSICAL INFORMATION--
ACTIVE CURSES: JUSENKYO-SPRING OF DROWNED GIRL; NEKO-KEN; CHAOS
ELEMENT.
"Chaos element!" Cried the three goddesses. "Oh My!" Belldandy
and Kasumi said.
(Everyone winces.)
Ryo-ok-hi: Miyaa!
Washu (to the camera): Ryo-ok-hi says that every quote should be a new
paragraph.
"The guy's a human Bug!" cried Urd.
"What is it? What's a 'Bug?' You make it sound like the worst
thing in existence." Akane asked. <Just like that Baka! Messing
things up even in Heaven!>
Ranma: Hey! Blame my father! O-o-o-rr your Grandfather!
"They aren't the 'worst,'" Urd said, "But they are a royal pain! I
ought to know!"
"You see," Belldandy began, "the Ultimate Force is a power of
Order.
Andrew: For a minute there, I thought it was some Anime-robot troop show.
Lina: Either that or a future episode of Final Fantasy XXI.
It makes sure that the rules are followed. However Kami-sama
made sure that there would also be Chaos in existence, so that change
and growth would be possible. The Ultimate Force looks on Chaos as an
error, and tries to control, or contain it. Sometimes, when something
goes wrong; a god or goddess breaks a rule, there is a flaw in the
system, or there is too much Chaos in creation, it will cause Elemental
Chaos Spirits to appear. These Spirits cause a great deal of problems,
since they make the laws of nature go out of control, and cause the
Ultimate Force to make mistakes. What you would think unlikely to
happen, becomes common place. We call these spirits, Bugs. That's
because they are to the Ultimate Force, what normal bugs are to a
earthly computer. Part of our job is to find and eliminate Bugs from
existence.
"A long time ago, Father decreed that some people would be Chaos
Elements, acting as natural random elements in creation. Bringing
change and growth to your world. Because of this, they are a part of
nature, and we leave them alone. Ranma is one of those people."
Ranma: Great. I'm a freak of nature.
Andrew: It's not that bad, Ranma. Just think of yourself as a Windows 98
patch. (Ranma @baps Andrew.)
Akane took a minute to digest this information. All those times
that she had blamed Ranma for things happening, and they might have not
been his fault, at least, not in a way he could control. All those
times that they had walked in on one another in the bath, all those
times that he got splashed with water, it was all begining to make
sense! It was a dazed Akane that turned back to the computer screen.
SOULMATE: AKANE TENDO, GODDESS OF THE UNBOUND HEART, FOURTH CLASS
(DEMIGOD) CATEGORY PROBATIONARY
(Ranma passes out. Everyone else looks at Ranma.)
Ryo-ok-hi: Pu! (Washu looks at Ryo-ok-hi and passes out.)
Andrew (grinning): Hmm, I wonder...
(Andrew splashes a bucket of water on A-ko and Lina. A-ko turns into a
panda and Lina turns into a boy. A-ko looks at Lina and faints.)
Lina-kun: What the hell?! (A-ko faints.)
Andrew: Yep. Ranma's a Chaos element.
"Looks like you won Sis'." Nabiki said with a smirk. Akane
blushed. <If I'm his 'soulmate' that must mean he really loves me.>
Andrew: That means Dr. Tofu is Kasumi's soulmate and Nabiki, like Urd, will
always be a bridesmaid and never a bride?
Ryo-ok-hi: You think too much, Andrew. (Andrew looks at Ryo-ok-hi.)
Andrew: You're right, Ryo-ok-hi...nani?! (Andrew faints. Ryo-ok-hi blinks
as she looks at the fainted five-some.)
Ryo-ok-hi: Well, so much for my foreign language training...
She thought. She had been told by her Grandfather, Kami-sama, about her
and her sisters jobs; Kasumi as Goddess of Peace, Nabiki as Goddess of
Secrets, and herself as Goddess of emotions and the unbound heart.
Ryo-ok-hi: Somehow that makes a lot of sense. Still, Nabiki as the Goddess
of Secrets, isn't that like Ataru being the bodyguard for the Playboy mansion?
What
she might be able to do with this, and the fact that Ranma loved her
sent her into a trance of joy. She was jolted out of dreamstate by the
sound of Skuld facefaulting on the table.
"What is it Skuld?" Belldandy asked, concerned. In answer, Skuld
pointed to a line of text on the screen. What it said made everyones
eyes bulge.
SPIRITUAL ENERGY: HIGH PRESENT ABILITIES INDICATE
ELIGIBILITY FOR IMMORTALITY.
NOTICE:
RANMA SAOTOME IS UNDER CONSIDERATION FOR ADVANCEMENT TO POSITION(S)
OF GOD/DESS OF CHANGE AND GROWTH, AND/OR PATRON GOD/DESS OF MARTIAL ARTS
AND WARRIORS. ANY AND ALL HEAVENLY BEINGS ARE TO AIDE IN DETERMINATION
OF SUITABILITY FOR POSITION.
Ryo-ok-hi: IF they can figure out which sex he/she is at that moment.
Feline gods & goddess need not apply.
Akane had to take a moment to sit down at this. Not only was she
now a goddess, or rather a 'demi'goddess, but Ranma might very well
become a god, and even if he didn't, it was possible for him to become
an immortal, like her. Akane got a goofy smile on her face. With the
trainning she would get from her relatives, she could easily defeat
Shampoo's martial arts abilities, and get rid of all the Amazon's love
potions. That, and the fact that she was Ranma's soulmate, neice of the
Cupid of Love, and herself possessing some power over the heart, made
her know, once and for all that she had won the fight.
"Look out Ranma," she muttered, "Your Soulmate is going to get
you!"
(Ranma gets up, sees the last 1/3 of the story, and screams. Then faints
again.)
_________________________________________________________________
Well, I finally finished this thing. For a while I didn't think I
would. To everyone who's been encouraging me, I thank you.
I decided to write this after reading a few other stories that set
Kasumi and Belldandy as relatives. I thought about it, and decided to
try my hand in it. I came across one, A Batman the Animated
Series/Ranma/AMG crossover at the Ranma 1/2 Gallery that had a similar
idea about making the three sisters goddesses, but I came up with this
before reading it.
I got alot of C&C about the teasers I sent out a while ago. So I
decided that sometime after I finish this, and send it to the FFML and
the RAAC, I'll write an alterverse version of this story which may
become a series. In this one, a demon with ties to Kimiko and Urd shows
up, intent on getting some revenge. Though don't expect it to show up
soon. I've got alot of work on my hands and I don't have web access at
my house. I'm writing this at my public library so it may be a while.
I want to thank Gerald E. Jordan for helping me with the last scene
in this monster. It was a great help.
(Ranma slowly gets up.)
Ranma: When I get my hands on you...! (ZAP! Ryo-ok-hi zaps a lightning bolt
on Ranma. He falls over, extra crispy.)
Ryo-ok-hi: I don't think so. I actually LOVED the idea. Now, if someone
would make ME a cabbit goddess! (She grins in such a kawaii way that makes
the author of this MST big-sweat. Uh, Ryo-ok-hi, I doubt ANYONE would make
you a goddess, let alone talk. HEY! BOINK! Ryo-ok-hi @baps the author of
this MST.)
******
(Much later, everyone is up and looking rather angry.)
Washu: That's the last time I'll add a voice-control onto Ryo-ok-hi...
Andrew: Well, never mind that.
Lina-kun: I'm still a boy!
Ranma: Yeah, you don't look too much different now as you were as a girl.
D'oh! (Lina-kun chases Ranma around the Tardis.)
A-ko (holding out a sign): [Typical.] (flips sign) [Wait, I'm still a
panda!] (Now A-ko/panda chases Andrew around the Tardis swatting him with
her signs reading...) [Baka!] [Pervert!] [Uncute!]
Washu: Well, Ryo-ok-hi, what do you have to say for yourself?
Ryo-ok-hi: Bwee! (Washu's eyes roll up and she falls over.) Washu? Washu?
(Looking at the camera.) Well, *I* think that the fic is fine. I'd like to
see more quotes and less narration, but the plot's decent. Slightly
unbelievable, which is perfect for Anime. It's great! (She gives that
kawaii grin while reaching for a carrot. Meanwhile, Andrew and Ranma bump
into each other and the two cursed girls smash them down with mallets.)
