I don't know about you guys, but I read for enjoyment and entertainment
only. If the story was entertaining, I like it. It doesn't matter about
misspellings/ bad grammar if it doesn't actually ruin the mood of the story
(ie you can't tell what that word was, what the author is trying to convey,
etc etc).
I also write fanfics because it's fun, even better if the people who read it
were also entertained. This should be all that matters (IMO), not setting to
strict 'rules' such as 'annoying new characters'. Some people like what is
defined as ANC, it's all a matter of opinion.

What should critics look for in a story? We use terms like "character
development", "plot", "consistency", but each of us have a different idea
of what these mean. I would like to see some discussion on the FFML about
what we look for when reviewing a story, what we like, what we dislike,
i.e. what makes a good fanfic.
