Any newspaper will have exchange rates listed in the business section,

next to the stock listings.

Currently, it's at 140 yen to the dollar.  Usually, it's closer to
125.

Also, ten thousand dollars isn't that much for the amount of destruction
you indicated (ten thousand would be 4-5 systems) a computer store would
have more systems than that for demo AND internal use (servers,
desktops, cash registers...).
