My new (first chapter hits RAAC after AX) 'Childhood of a Modern
Dynasty' series does this. The future segments will be used to recap the
last chapter and any pertinent facts for casual readers. That was the
original reason to add the future segments. Soon, the future segments
gained in importance and became a central part of the series (one
upcomming chapter will almost be half future and half present).

Plus the addition of the future segments gave me the idea for a great
conclusion to the series. Of course I have no idea when that conclusion
will be written and have to resist writing it ahead of time. I've sixty
years of history to fill in before I can write it after all.
