You are right, it's sick.  The entire better half of the species,
including myself, object strenously.  

That done, it was awfully funny.

On a technical note, tampons are not "small white pieces of cloth", they
are, for obvious reasons, cylindrical in shape.  An unused one would be
covered in something, cardboard, or some other material.  The other form
of sanitary napkins is the pad, which resembles your description better,
but sticking it up someone's nose...gross!
