Hi ! Sorry about the spam, but I was wondering if somebody else is

in 

the process of making a Mulan/Ranma cross-over fic. Because I was 
considering making one myself. Any advice or help in making this

fic is 

appreciated. 

Heh...figures that the same day I think of doing a Mulan crossover,
so does somebody else ^_^

Here is the cast I thought of:

Fa Mulan - Tendo Akane
The Father - Tendo Soun
The Mother - Tendo Kasumi
The Grandmother - Tendo Nabiki

Ugh...I think not. It wouldn't do too much damage to canon either way
to use Cologne for this. After all, she looked kinda like her
anyway...

The General - Saotome Genma

Hmmm...problem with this is utter personality clash. If you're going
to do a fusion of Ranma and Mulan, you need to consider personalities
of the Ranma cast. Otherwise, you're just doing Mulan with the cast
of Ranma 1/2 'acting' out the same roles and virtually the same
script. 

The fact is, *nobody* is going to believe Genma as the General, for
various reasons.

The Captain and love interest - (Of course) Saotome Ranma

Natch...unless you do something *slightly* different...

The 3 Stooges  - Mousse (Couldn't think of the other two yet.)
(Friends of Mulan - The Fat, skinny and short guy in the film)

The skinny guy would be well replaced by Mousse, the short by Kunou,
and the fat by Ryouga...no need for them to actually resemble the
stooges from the film, just provide the same effect.

The Dragon (Mu shu, I think) - Ryouga

Absolutely not. If you're going to use *any* human to replace Mushu,
it'd be Happousai. Otherwise, I'd suggest either Panda or P-chan.

Lucky Cricket - P-Chan

To be honest....I'm in favor of not trying to replace the cricket
with any character from Ranma. I mean, why bother? It would cause so
many plot inconsistencies...not to mention the fact that there's a
*reason* the goofball bug was a Lucky Cricket...

Villain - Happosai
Councilor - Tatewaki Kuno

Happousai as the Hun warlord...it wouldn't work. Tarou, the Dojo
Destroyer, or Kinni, maybe.
As for the counselor...two possibilities: Gosunkugi or, if you're
really feeling creative, male Nabiki.

I couldn't think of any other characters, maybe I would add a few

new 

ones. Plus there is also the matter of the curses. 

Yes, the curses do throw a serious wrench into the idea. The fact is,
even though it's the series people most love to use as crossover
bait, in this instance, it's not ideal. Unfortunately, I'm hard
pressed to decide what *is* presently...

Any help is welcome. And thank you for your time.

I say go for it, if you really want to. Who knows? You may stumble
across the crucial key to make it work.

Meanwhile, if I can figure out a better way to do it without using
Ranma, or with the Ranma cast...

(Might wait till I go back and see it a second time tho'...^_^)
