Hey look ma...I turned it into a meaningful post....
I added the magic words (C&C) and now of course I have to "put out" as
well.
This is for the first season.....
I quite liked this. I am racing to download season two (which would be
easier if I actually HAD a computer right now..(don't even ask) )
I realize that this is a different time and place and these are differing
people....a place where a ripple formed in the glass of their "mirror
universe) (hey, neat wording idea....maybe I should make it more useful
somewhere else as well....). Sometimes it seemed that the encounters with
Angels were "too easy" for the eva pilots. I realize there was a mirroring
of the original but without Shinji's second thoughts and doubts it DOES
seem easy...also, we miss Tohji and Co. (Esp. Hikari ;) ) Of course this
"season" does take place on summer vacation....maybe next one.
Anyway,
The various characters were handled in an interesting manner with a few
exceptions (which are my major quibbles:::below:)
The flaws I found were mainly in Kaji (or perceptions of him) and of
course DJ. DJ to me seems more of a self-insert than most self
inserts...possibly because he is not supposed to be. He falls into the
trap of being the offspring of two "noble" parents (with resources gleaned
from them both geneticly and in a capital sense...of course what Miz.
Croft is doing is "GRAVE ROBBING!!!!!!!" but then so was Indy :) )
and he seems to have above average skills in
almost everything he does...I would have like to have
seen him gibber in the elevator. :) Thankfully this sems to become less
obvious as the story goes on (that or I got used to it) His
confrontational relationship with Asuka is o.k. but we don's see her
vunerability as she sleeps.
Kaji of course seems to be exactly the weasel he is originaly presented
as in the series with no remitance...Oh I do not believe he was the
world's nicest guy but hey... he had a garden.
Well, despite all of that as I said I'm still going to be getting more
eps....
Good to see X-com again. I am playing 3 (I'll admit it) and it comes
nowhere near the original...somehow I had a bigger attachment to troopers
and the plot although contrived was there....
Of course I liked the x-com stories as well (both on-line and published)
and would heartily reccomend them as well....

At long, long last, the first chapter of the third book of Neon
Exodus Evangelion will be released tomorrow. Needless to say, I'm pumped
about this. If III is as much better than II as II was better than I ...
we're in for an unbelievable ride ...
