It can also be a good source of humor... To give a quick example (this is only an example 
so please excuse any errors.)

Ranma lie back in his wedding bed with a smile on his face. Akane was in the bathroom. 
When she came out, they would at last make love. He remembered all their troubles and 
triumphs. Even in their fiercest quarrels, there had been a spark of love and admiration 
in her eyes. And now they were married. Now at last he'd make love to her. That was the 
only thing he hadn't been able to do. Physically he could've, but he simply had too much 
moral fiber to take her before it was the proper time.  
"Its time, Ranma!" Akane called out in a breathakingly excited voice. "In one minute 
it'll be you and I and a night of marital bliss."
"I'm looking forward to it."
"So am I.." Akane answered. "Just one thing, though..."
"Yes, my love?"
Akane burst into the room with a bucket of cold water which she launched at Ranma before 
he could react. "I HATE BOYS!"
