Author’s Notes: This story takes place a few months after the
final manga in the series. Ranma and Akane have admitted their love for
each other. They still have a few of their typical fights but not as frequently
as they did in the past. The X-Men line up in this story is Beast, Wolverine,
Cyclops, Rogue, Jubilee, Storm, Jean Grey, Psylocke, Gambit, and Professor
Xavier. Nodoka also plays a prominent role in this fanfic.
The Story
(Scene One: The Meeting Room in the X-Mansion. All X-
Men are present.)
Gambit: What we hear for Logan? I had a little rendezvous
with Madame Rogue planned for right now.
Rogue: Yeah, sugah! You certainly know how to ruin a girl’s
fun. I hope you don’t plan to show us slides from your latest trip to Japan.
Wolverine: Pipe down, both of ya. This is important. Look at
these. (Passes around a pile of photographs.)
Jubilee: He’s cute.
Beast: Who is the “cute” boy we are looking at, my friend?
Wolverine: His name is Ranma Saotome. I believe he his a
mutant.
Cyclops: Do you have proof?
Wolverine: I saw him fight. He knew several techniques that I
haven’t seen in a long time. Psylocke might know some of them.
Psylocke: Like what?
Wolverine: The Hiyru Shoten Ha.
Psylocke: That’s impossible. The only people who know how
to use that technique are The Amazons near Jusenkyo.
Wolverine: Exactly. So I asked a little about him and found
out for a very steep price, that he had a special ability.
Jean Grey: What is the ability?
Wolverine: I’m not sure but. I think it has something to do
with transformation? I do know his address though. I also know that the kid
is fluent in English so communication will not pose as a big problem.
Professor X: Perhaps it is time we sent Mr. Saotome a letter.
(Scene Two. A few days, later at the Tendou Dojo.)
Ranma and Akane: We’re home.
Nodoka: How was school today?
Akane: Fine. Kuno asked Ranma’s better half; to the fall
dance (Laughs.)
Ranma: It’s not funny and he asked you to go with him also,
tomboy.
Akane: (Goes closer to Ranma.) Baka!
Ranma: Macho Chick!
Akane: Pervert.
Ranma: Uncute.
Akane: (embraces and kisses Ranma.) Are you sure about the
last insult?
Ranma: Of course not. (Akane gives him a soft hit to the
head.) Just joking, of course you’re cute. (Kisses Akane back, while Kasumi
enters with a letter.)
Kasumi: Hello, Akane. Hello, Ranma. Ranma there was an
odd letter for you in the mail today. Here it is. (Gives Ranma the letter,
Ranma begins to read the letter while still kissing Akane.)
Ranma: (Breaking away from Akane.) From Professor
Xavier’s School for the Gifted in America!
Akane: What does it say.
Ranma: (reading) Dear Mr. Ranma Saotome, our school is
trying to build up its number of international students. Our Japanese liaison
informed us about your academic talents especially in Math, as well as, your
skill in Martial Arts. We would like you to attend our school, so you can
grow academically and teach our current students Martial Arts. I will be
calling you on September 12th at seven p.m., your time to discuss
arrangements for you to come and visit during the first week of October.
Akane: Where is the school located?
Ranma: (Reading more.) Our school is located in Scarsdale,
New York about thirty minutes from Manhattan. Mr. Saotome, I hope you
wish to come visit us, you can bring some guests if you wish. With much
respect, Professor Charles Xavier.
Akane: Only thirty minutes from Manhattan that’s wonderful.
Ranma: I guess so, why?
Akane: Broadway, silly. I always wanted to see a play in New
York; it’s one of the best theatre cities in the world. Ranma, please take me!
Ranma: Well, he did write that I could bring guests. I guess
you’ll get two birthday presents from me.
Akane: That’s right. They want you to visit during my
birthday week. I never spent a birthday away from home before.
Kasumi: Don’t worry, Akane. We will celebrate your
birthday before you go away.
Akane: Arigato, oneechan.
Nodoka: I am very proud of you, my son and I am coming
with you too.
Ranma: Why?
Nodoka: Because I never got to go on vacation with you
when you were younger and young lovebirds like you and Akane need a
chaperone to accompany you, so you both behave properly.
Ranma: (blushing) Hai, mother. (Phone rings.) That must be
him! (Rushes towards the phone and picks it up.) Hello, Tendou training
hall, Saotome Ranma speaking.
Professor X: Hello, Mr. Saotome by the sound of your voice I
take it you received my letter.
Ranma: Hai, I mean yes Professor Xavier-sensei. I will be
honored to come and visit your school.
Professor X: I am glad to hear that. Do you have any
questions for me?
Ranma: No.
Professor X: Good than let’s get down to business. Is there
going to be someone accompanying you?
Ranma: Yes, two people. My fiancé Tendou Akane and my
mother Saotome Nodoka.
Professor X: Yes. This question might seem too personal but
it has importance, Do they know everything about you or is there something
you keep a secret from them?
Ranma: (puzzled) No, I guess you can say that they know
everything about me. Why do you ask?
Professor X: Do not be concerned by the question, it is
merely a formality. I will send three tickets to your house very soon, You
will land in New York at John F Kennedy International Airport around four
a.m. on October first. Before I say goodbye, do you have any special
requests?
Ranma: Yes, I do actually. My fiancés birthday is October
third and she really likes theatre. I was wondering if you can get me two
tickets to a show followed by dinner at a nice restaurant. I will pay you back
for the show tickets and dinner.
Professor X: Don’t worry about a thing, the school will treat
you two to a very nice evening. I am sure you fiancé will be very pleased. I
will call you again after everything’s arranged. Until I call again I wish you
farewell.
Ranma: Thank you very much, Professor Xavier-sensei.
Farewell (hangs up.)
(Scene 3, Meeting room, X-Mansion)
Cyclops: Is everything set?
Professor X: Yes, Ranma will come and visit us during the
first week of October and he does not suspect anything about the true nature
of why he was recruited.
Jean Grey: Is he coming alone?
Professor X: two people are accompanying him. His mother,
Saotome Nodoka and his fiancé, Tendou Akane. I believe they know about
his mutant ability.
Jubilee: (disappointed) Isn’t he a too young to be engaged?
Beast: (jokingly) Do I sense a little jealousy on your part,
lady Jubilee?
Jubilee: It would just be nice to have some company that’s
my age, around here.
Gambit: Sure that’s all you want, Jubilee?
Jubilee: Shut up, will you. All it would mean is one less
woman to work your charms on. (Everyone laughs, Gambit just pouts.)
Professor X: All right, that’s enough. Training time is in
fifteen minutes. Beasts I need your help before you start training.
Beast: How may I help you esteemed Professor?
Professor X: Ranma’s fiancées birthday is on October 3rd and
she loves the theatre. So he wanted us to arrange a nice evening, including
dinner for the two of them.
Beast: I will arrange a very nice evening for both of them,
Professor.
(Scene 4: two weeks later at the Tendou House, It's Akane's birthday
party.)
Everyone: HAPPY SEVENTEENTH BIRTHDAY, DEAR
AKANE, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOU. (Akane closes her eyes, makes a
wish and blows out the candles.)
Akane: Thank you, everyone.
Kasumi: It's time to open presents.
Akane: (taking a random present from the pile.) This one is
from Kuno. (Opens it and pulls out a red sweater.)
Kuno: I hope the fair maiden Tendou Akane fells this gift is
suitable for her. I spent hours thinking of a gift that would look beautiful on
your skin, lovely maiden and keep you warm in the barbarian lands of New
York.
Akane: It's very nice Kuno.
Kuno: A thousand thanks princess, a thousand thanks. Beat
that evil wizard Saotome.
Ranma: Wait and see Kuno.
Akane: The next one's from Uncle and Auntie Saotome.
(Akane opens the box and pulls out a nice, black evening dress.) Wow,
Arigato Uncle and Auntie. It's lovely; I can't wait to wear it>
Nodoka: I'm glad you like it. Actually Genma picked out.
(Genma blushes.)
Ranma: (laughs) Who would have known that you have good
taste in woman's clothing, old man! Guess the better half of Happosai rubbed
of on you. (Genma doesn’t react, he just grumbles.)
Akane: Domo Arigato, to both of you. (Takes a small
envelope out of the pile.) This is Ranma's gift. (Opens it.) TWO TICKETS
TO SEE CITY OPERA DO LA BOHEME! (Gets up and hugs Ranma)
Thank you, Ranma, Thank you.
Ranma: (blushing) I guess you'll get to wear that evening
dress sooner than you thought you would. (Scene ends with Akane opening
the rest of her gifts.)
(Scene 5: Tokyo International Airport.)
Kasumi: Good-bye, I hope you have a nice trip.
Akane: We will, I'll call as soon as we reach the United
States.
Soun: WAAAAAAAAAAA! My little girl is traveling so far
away.
Akane: (embarrassed.) Daddy please control yourself. It' not
like I'm travelling alone. Ranma and auntie Nodoka will be with me you
know.
Soun: But I never thought you'd go so far away so soon.
Akane: Dad, it's only for one week.
Soun: All right, Ranma if anything happens to my little girl. I
am holding you responsible.
Ranma: Come on, what could happen it's not like were going
to Jusenkyo. We're going to America to visit a boarding school, what could
possibly happen?
Nabiki: Ranma-baby with you anything could happen.
(Ranma turns red.) Come on, we should be going. Hey where are Genma and
Nodoka.
Ranma: They wanted to say good-bye together privately.
Kasumi: (blushes) Oh my!
Nabiki: Let's go. Kuno planned to treat us to a day at his
mansion. (Nabiki, Kasumi, and Soun (still crying) leave.)
Ranma: Wow, I can't believe that Nabiki actually got Kuno
under control, Kind of.
Akane: Yeah. I guess the best way to Kuno's heart is with
pictures of the "pig-tailed godess." (Laughs)
Ranma: Very funny. She sold him a fair number of Akane
pictures as well, you know.
Akane: (stops laughing.) Hm. (Nodoka enters, blushing a
little.)
Nodoka: I hope you two brought something to do. We have a
long flight in store for us.
Ranma: Yeah, I brought some Manga to read and planned to
do a lot of sleeping.
Akane: What manga? Dragon ball? Uratsei Yatsura?
Ranma: It's none of your business.
Akane: (Grabs his backpack and opens it.) Maison Ikkoku,
isn't that a little unmanly for you? (Laughs)
Ranma: You're being really kawaiikune, right now.
Akane: Relax, Ranma I was just joking.
Nodoka: Why don't the two of you calm down. We have to
board now and I don’t want any fights on the plane.
Akane and Ranma: Hai. (They board the plane and prepare
for the long flight in store for them.)
(Scene 6. John F. Kennedy International Airport, Ranma, Nodoka,
and Akane have just finished with customs.)
Akane: Man, customs took for ever, I hope that it doesn't take
long to get to the school. (Nodoka and Ranma nod their heads in agreement.)
Ranma: (stretching and yawning.) They said someone would
have a sign with my name on it so we should start to look around. (All three
begin to look for a sign.) There it is, it's being help by a man with rose-tinted
glasses.
Ranma: Hello? I am Ranma Saotome.
Cyclops: Hello Mr. Saotome. My name is Scott Summers I
am a teacher at the school. (Turns to Nodoka) You must be his mother Mrs.
Nodoka Saotome and (turns to Akane) You are his fiancé Miss Akane
Tendou. I hope your trip was pleasant.
Nodoka: It was as pleasant as a long airplane ride could be
Mr. Summers-san but we are very glad to be here. (Yawns a little then;
covers her mouth.) Oh my, how unlady-like of me.
Cyclops: (laughing.) Don't worry. I know you must all need
some rest. Once we get to the school, we will get you settled in so you can
rest up, you all have a busy week ahead of you.
(Scene 7, in the car on the way to the school.)
Cyclops: We should be arriving at the school in a few
minutes. I hope the car trip wasn't too long for any of you.
Ranma: Compared to a seventeen-hour flight a one-hour car
trip is just fine.
Cyclops: (laughs) Of course. Ranma and Akane we are a little
pressed for dorm space at the current moment and since you two are
engaged, we were wondering of you could share a room? If the presents a
problem for you Ms. Saotome, we can switch rooms and have Akane share
one with you.
Nodoka: No it's fine. I am sure that Ranma and Akane will
act like mature young adults. (Ranma and Akane blush)
Ranma: Mom.
Cyclops: (making a right turn) Well were here. (Pulls up in
front of the X-Mansion.) It is still pretty, early so everyone is still asleep. I
will show you to your rooms so can unpack and rest. There will be a meeting
at eleven with Professor Xavier and the rest of the faculty. The meeting
room is directly bellow from, where you are staying.
(Scene 8, Ranma and Akane's room.)
Akane: Well we finished unpacking. I guess the only thing to
do now is rest until the meeting.
Ranma: (Sitting with his knees on the bed.) Come here.
Akane: (goes over.) Why?
Ranma: (pulling her closer) I want to make love to you.
(Begins to kiss her on the neck.)
Akane: Ranma no, What will your mom think if she hears us.
(Whispers) Oh, that feels good.
Ranma: Don't worry about mom. (Opening Akane's shirt) She
might be a lot different than pop but once they're asleep. They're both, out
like lamps.
Akane: Oh, baby (trying to push Ranma away) What if
someone from the school hears us?
Ranma: We will have to be extra quiet, then.
Akane: (moaning) With you I don't think that's possible but I
guess.. (pant, pant) I can try. (Ranma and Akane continue to make love.)
(Scene 9: Eleven A.M. Meeting room of the X-Mansion. Ranma, Akane, and
Nodoka are the only ones present. Author's note: aren't I just the biggest tease for
ending the above scene ??)
Ranma: I wonder if we are a little early (Looks at clock when a man
in a wheel chair comes in.)
Professor X: Mr. Saotome, Mrs. Saotome, Miss Tendou, How are
you? I am Professor Charles Xavier.
Ranma: (taking a traditional bow) How are you, Professor Xavier?
Professor X: I am very well, thank you. Sit down please, I have
something important to say to you. Pushes a button that turns on an intercom.) You
may come in now (The X-Men enter in their uniforms.) You see Mr. Saotome we
are a school for the gifted but the academically gifted. Our gifts are special abilities
that are encoded in our DNA but society shuns us for them. I try to help us so-called
"Mutants" adapt and control our powers.
Ranma: (pointing at Cyclops and getting excited.) "Mutants!" I
thought I recognized you! You're Cyclops and these must be the X-Men! Sunfire
used to belong to the X-Men. You guys are really cool!
Nodoka: (slightly mad.) Some introductions and an explanation on
why you are interested in my son are in order I think.
Cyclops: Of course, you already know I am Scott Summers or the
Cyclops. I am the leader of the X-Men. I will let everyone else introduce
themselves.
Beast: I am Dr. Henry McCoy also known as the locaqutious,
bouncing Beast.
Gambit: I am known as Gambit but my real name is Remy
Beaudreaux.
Storm: My name is Ororo Munroe. They call me Storm, though.
Psylocke: I am Elizabeth Braddock or Psylocke.
Rogue: My name is Rogue.
Jean Grey: I am Jean Grey. I have no superhero name.
Jubilee: I am Jubilee. My real name is Jubilation Lee.
Wolverine: I am the Wolverine or Logan. I prefer you call me
Wolverine until we are better aquatinted.
Akane: Ranma. How do you know who the X-Men are?
Nodoka: (a little calmer.) Ranma kept a super-hero scrap book in
grade school. He used to pray every night that he could join the X-Men or the
Avengers.
Ranma: (Very Embarrassed) Mom!!
Professor X: (Laughing.) Well, how would you like to fulfill your
childhood dream, Ranma?
Ranma: You mean join the X-Men? But I'm not a mutant.
Wolverine: I have ties in Japan, bub, and while I was visiting their a
few months ago I saw you fight and use the Hiyru Shoten Ha. Not many people can
use such a technique, so I asked around a little and I found out from a girl your
address and she said that you had some sort of special ability. In fact, the girl looked
a lot like you Miss Tendou. She charged me, a lot of yen for that information.
Ranma: Nabiki, I can’t believe my future sister-in-law is still selling
me out.
Professor X: What is your special ability, Ranma?
Ranma: It's not an ability and it's not special. It's more of a curse,
actually?
Jean Grey: Ranma we all thought our abilities were curses when we
first found out about them. We will help you learn to accept and appreciate your
ability.
Ranma: No, I literally mean it's a curse. I guess the only thing I can
do is show you. Will someone please get me a glass of cold water and a glass of hot
water?
Jubilee: I will get them.
Gambit: Jus' what exactly do you plan to do with da water?
Ranma: Just wait and see when Jubilee comes back. (Jubilee enters
with the water and hands it to Ranma.) Arigato, Jubilee.
Jubilee: What does that mean?
Ranma: Thank you. Well here we go. (Throws the glass of cold water
onto himself. A group of wide eyed X-Men watch as Ranma instantly turns into a
girl before them.)
Rogue: Now, I've seen everything, sugar.
Ranma: Watch this. (Ranma takes hot water, splashes herself with it
and turns back into a guy.)
Beast: Interesting, cold water turns you into a girl and hot water turns
you back. Where did you get this ability?
Psylocke: Jusenkyo.
Ranma: You know about Jusenkyo?
Psylocke: I heard rumors about it but I never visited there. So, I did
not think the rumors were true but I you proved me wrong.
Cyclops: What exactly is Jusenkyo?
Ranma: It's a cursed training ground in China. There are thousands of
springs each one with it's own tragic legend. If you fall into one, you take the body
of the first thing the drowned in that particular spring. As you can tell, I fell into the
Spring of the Drowned Girl.
Professor X: If you knew the area was cursed, why did you go there?
Ranma: When I was sixteen, I was on a training mission with my pop
in China and he didn’t exactly read Chinese so we went there and that rest is history.
Professor X: (a little dumb founded.) I see. My offer still stands
though, would you still like to join the X-Men?
Ranma: Really? Why I'm not a mutant?
Professor X: Wolverine informs me that whoever can do the Hiyru
Shoten Ha can be a very valuable addition to the team. How about you Akane?
Akane: Why me?
Wolverine: When I heard you were comin', I did back round checks
on both you and Mrs. Saotome. I found out you had some interesting Martial Art
talents as well. Couldn't find anything on Mrs. Saotome, though.
Professor X: So do you want to accept our offer?

This is the first part of my Ranma X Crossover and the only
