I WON'T SAY



	The wind swept past as the moon softly glowed in the heavens, its light,
playing with the shadows that were around it. 

	Ranma and Akane were walking back to the dojo, their silence mirroring
their surroundings. Ranma looked down at Akane from on top of the fence and
sighed, his thoughts wandering, *Hmmm...I had a great time tonight
Akane...if I only had the nerve to tell you...* he jumped down the fence
and walked beside her, closer than usual. He could feel his cheeks burning
and his mind told him to put his arm around her, but he stubbornly refused
to.

	Akane shivered, as the air around her grew colder. She rubbed her arms and
thought, *I should've brought my coat with me...* Her silk dress only made
the night air seem colder, she noted. Akane stole a glance at Ranma, who
seemed to be thinking of something and wistfully smiled,  *Ranma...if only
it was always like this... * Again she shivered. Then froze as she felt
Ranma slowly put his arm around her, putting his jacket over her, yet,
Akane knew the warmth she was feeling didn't come from the jacket. 

	Ranma sighed in relief when he didn't see any signal she was gonna hit
him. He couldn't even feel the cold air as he rested his arm for a brief
moment on her shoulder. Ranma sighed and knew he had to eventually pull his
arm back, and he did. But as his hand slowly slipped away, a warm hand
grasped his and held it gently in its original place... 

	On they walked...the warmth of each other's presence making them forget
the coldness of the night, as they slowly became closer...

	For once, they both felt sad as they gazed at the huge sign of the Tendo
dojo. Akane reluctantly pulled away and faced Ranma, a sweet smile painting
her face, "I...I had a great time Ranma..."

	"I did too..." 

	Akane steeled herself thinking, *This is it Akane...this is the best time
to tell him...c'mon you can do it...don't be stubborn...* she closed her
eyes for one brief moment and opened them, staring Ranma in the eye,
"Ranma...I...Ranma, I..." *I love you!!! I love you!!! I love you!! Why
can't I just say it!?!?*

	Ranma saw the despair in her eyes and touched her cheek, looking deep into
her big brown eyes and lost all the words he was meaning to say...

	Akane stared into Ranma's beautiful blue-gray eyes and felt her knees
weaken. *At last! * She thought, *We're finally gonna kiss! * Her thoughts
sent all her blood into her cheeks and she was sure she was gonna explode
soon.

	Their bodies drew closer and their hearts beat even harder...slowly, Ranma
tilted Akane's chin up and closed his eyes, as she did the same and...

	"What are you all looking at?" Kasumi asked, addressing the small crowd
behind the doors, then turned to the couple, who now found the ground
deeply interesting and exclaimed, "Oh my!"

	"The show's over, guess we'll have to wait next time!" Nabiki said, going
into the house.

	"But it was so close!! What am I gonna do with these wedding gifts?" Genma
muttered, sighing as he too entered the house.

	Soun grimaced and said, "Oh well, better luck next time!"

	When their families were finally in the dojo, Akane looked over to Ranma
who was red to the hairline.

	Ranma looked back and a smile came between them, turning into small
giggles and then full-scale laughter.

	Akane couldn't still hide the feeling of disappointment and just sighed,
saying, "Well, as daddy said, better luck next time..." she went to Ranma
and squeezed his hand gently and turned walked to the entrance, but as she
walked, Ranma didn't let go...

	 Akane turned, gazing into Ranma's eyes, and blushed.

	At last, the moment they've been waiting for came. Ranma leaned down and
kissed Akane, his hand cradling her small cheek as Akane deepened their
kiss. Such a brief moment seemed like infinity between them and when it
ended, they once again looked into each other's eyes...

	Akane suddenly pulled away and smiled sweetly at Ranma before she turned
around and walked away.

	Ranma looked at Akane's back, still half-dazed at their actions, but when
his mind cleared he couldn't help but blush and touch his lips...

	Akane suppressed the urge to run back into Ranma's warm embrace and a grin
spread across her face. She giggled and laughed at herself for her actions,
yet she felt so giddy and turned around, waving at Ranma who had his finger
on his lips, "Good night Ranma..."

	A stupid grin painted his face from ear to ear and he answered, "Sweet
dreams, Akane..."

	Akane stepped onto the deck and smiled back once again and reached the
bottom of the stairs, she tripped on the first step and laughed, looking
back and seeing Ranma's surprised face which was replaced quickly by a
small grin. Silence passed on and they both suddenly laughed in unison...
	
As soon as she got into her room, Akane lay down on her bed and sighed,
"Ranma..." she giggled again and settled down as she closed her eyes and
realized she still had his jacket. 

	The curtains fluttered with the wind as Ranma stared at Akane from her
window, smiling. *I could stay here forever...* he stepped down and leaned
close to her, but stopped when she moved.

Akane hugged Ranma's jacket, whispering, "At least out loud...I won't say
I'm in love..." she stopped and couldn't help but add, "...yet..." she felt
something soft on her cheek and slowly opened her eyes.

	Her room looked like it always did, and she started in surprise as she
touched the lavender flower that rested on her pillow beside her. She
looked around and saw the open window, the curtains flowing freely...her
faced softened as she held the flower to her cheek, smiling, as she laid
back on her bed...

	Hi!! Hope you all liked it! This was inspired from Disney's Hercules where
Meg sang the song 'I Won't Say'. You would've read my brother's songfic,
which was posted before this. We actually watched it at the same time and
when we saw that scene I immediately told him I had an idea for a fic and
he told me he wanted to write a songfic, so here is my WAFFy fic!
