	Background Information:

It has been five years since Ranma and Akane have married. They are both
24 years old and have a 3 year-old daughter named Miyabi. Ryoga has married Akari and
Shampoo married Mousse (in a battle with Ranma, he accidentally hit her with a club.)
Dr. Tofu finally married Kasumi. The only one to remain alone is Ukyo.

(Scene: Ucchan's on Thursday at 8.00 PM. Ranma is leaving with his family.
There is a 24 year-old American man sitting alone at the counter.)

Ranma: Bye, Ucchan. See your next week.

		Mayabi: Bye-Bye, Auntie Ucchan!

Akane (whispering): Thanks for giving us a free dinner, you know now
that Ranma and I are married it really is not necessary anymore, we can pay for the food.

Ukyo (somewhat depressed but trying not to show it): No you don't have
to pay. I can never charge my best friends.

Akane (kissing Ukyo on the cheek): You are very kind. We will see you
next week.

(All three exit, Ukyo lets out a small sigh of depression. Ukyo puts the closed sign
on the door and is about to start to clean up the place, when she notices the American
man at the counter.)

Ukyo: I'm sorry sir but it's closing time. Will you please finish your
Oknomiyaki and leave.

Man (sympathetically but bluntly): It upsets you to see that couple
together doesn't it.

Ukyo (surprised and speaking in English): How could you tell? And how
can you speak in Japanese so well?

Man: You speak good English, yourself miss. I speak Japanese because I
have a Japanese mother and family. I was able to see your pain because I am a
psychiatrist. My name is Daniel Goldman. What's yours?

		Ukyo: Kounji Ukyo.

Daniel (sweetly): Do you want to talk about your problem?

Ukyo: Why should I talk about it with you? You are stranger.

Daniel: Maybe a stranger can give you the sympathy you need.

Ukyo (sitting next to him, almost on the verge of a break down): Ranma
and Akane have been married for five years now. I love both of them but I still wish
Ranma was my fianc‚ and I thought we would be. When I first found out that they were
engaged they hated each other so much. I thought I could make Ranma my fianc‚ very
easily.

Daniel: Why did you want to make Ranma your husband?

Ukyo: We were childhood friends when we were six years old. My father
thought it would be a good idea if we were married. So he told Ranma's father Genma
that if he made Ranma marry me, he would get the Oknomiyaki cart that my father ran as
a dowry.

Daniel: And the engagement fell through?

Ukyo: Genma is a Machiavellian bastard who only cares about himself.
He accepted my father's offer but forgot to tell him that Ranma was already engaged to
Akane who was the daughter of his best friend Tendou Soun. So Genma ran off with the
Oknomiyaki cart and left me behind.

Daniel: It sounds like you should hate Ranma not love him.

Ukyo: I did for along time and when I came here six years ago to seek my
revenge, I found out that Ranma was not at fault. When we were six years old Ranma
kind of thought I was a guy and I decided after what happened I could no longer be a girl
and I decided to live my life as a guy. When I came here to Nerima to get my revenge I
was enrolled as a male student. Ranma soon remembered whom I was when I began to
fight him and discovered I was a girl a few minutes later. It was only then that he found
out that our fathers engaged us. He said I should stop acting like a tomboy because I was
really cute. Nobody ever called me that before and when he did my heart just melted.

Daniel: Ranma and Akane did not like each other when you found out
about their engagement.

Ukyo: It really looked like they wanted to kill each other but I know
realize they both put on that mask because they were too immature to deal with their
feelings towards each other.

Daniel: Did you have any relationships after they got married?

Ukyo: I had a brief, stormy relationship with a boy named Ryoga. He
loved Akane just as much as I loved Ranma and after Ranma and Akane got married we
decided to let all of our pent-up desires and frustrations out on each other. We were both
19 and not thinking properly because of our heartache. I'm glad the relationship ended
before one of us got hurt. Ryoga married a girl named Akari about two years ago.

Daniel: How does Ranma see you.

Ukyo: He sees me as is best friend and confidant. Whenever he had a
major fight with Akane he always came here to talk to me. They rarely fight anymore
though. I still want Ranma to be my husband but Akane is his soul mate and I don't want
to break up their marriage because they love each other so much (begins to cry.)

Daniel (putting his arms around Ukyo): It's okay, it's okay. There is no
need to cry. Ranma and Akane love you. They would never want to hurt you in anyway.

Ukyo (cheering up a little): Thank you Dr. Goldman. How can I repay you
for helping me?

Daniel: First, you can call me Daniel. Secondly, you can go on a date with
me tomorrow night.

		Ukyo: A da.. da.. date?

Daniel: Yes, a date. Can I pick you up here tomorrow night at eight
O'clock? (Begins to leave)

Ukyo: Yeah. But why do you want to go on a date with me?

Daniel: Ranma was right. You are pretty cute. Se you tomorrow night.
(Exits.)

Ukyo (letting out a large sigh): Arigato, Daniel, arigato.

(Scene 2: The next day around noontime at the Saotome-Tendou dojo. Ukyo is
talking to Akane on the phone.)

Akane: Ranma and I are going to take Mayabi to the fair tonight and we
were wondering if you would like to come along?

Ukyo: I'd love too but I kind of have a date tonight.

Akane (excited): You do!! Is he cute?

		Ukyo: You can say that.

Akane: What does he look like? What's his name?

Ukyo (laughing): Gee Akane you get right down to what's important,
don't you? He is about my height with violet eyes and short black hair. His name is
Daniel Goldman and he is a psychiatrist.

Akane: He is an American? How did you meet?

Ukyo: Half-American, his mother comes from Japan. He was eating here
last night and when you left he started up a conversation with me. One thing led to
another and before I knew it I had a date for tonight.

Akane: I'm so happy for you. I have an idea, why don't you two come
with us three.

Ukyo: Well, I don't know if that's such a good idea.

Akane: Come on it will be fun.

		Ukyo: Well, alright.

Akane: Good! We will meet at your place at eight o'clock. Goodbye.
(Hangs up the phone, Ranma enters, holding Mayabi.)

Ranma: So is Ukyo coming with us tonight?

Akane: Yes and she got a date for tonight too!

Mayabi: Auntie Ucchan has a boyfriend?

Akane: Kind of, sweetie pie. Come on guys I made us all lunch.

	(Ranma and Mayabi face fault.)

Scene 3 (Ucchan's at eight p.m. Ukyo is dressed up in a pair of jeans and a tight-
fitting T-shirt. Daniel enters, Ranma, Akane, and Miyabi have yet to arrive.)

Ukyo: Hello Daniel (gives him a hug.)

		Daniel: Hi, You look nice.

Ukyo: Thanks. We were invited to go on a double date to the fair in the
park. Do you want to go on it?

Daniel: Sure, it sounds like fun. Who invited us?

Ukyo (nervously): Akane and Ranma with their daughter Miyabi.

Daniel: Are you sure you want to go on a double date with Ranma and
Akane.

Ukyo: Yes, I'm sure. It will help me get over Ranma once and for all.
Besides, Mayabi is coming and she is the cutest three-year-old you ever met.

	(Ranma, Akane, and Miyabi enter.)

Miyabi (running to Ucchan): Auntie Ucchan.

Ukyo (picking Miyabi up): Hello darling. How are you?

Ranma (to Daniel): Hello. I am Saotome Ranma; this is my wife Akane
and our daughter Miyabi. How do you do?

Daniel: I'm fine. My name is Daniel Goldman.

Ukyo: Why doesn't everyone sit down at the booth in the corner and get
acquainted. I will make us all dinner then we will leave for the fair.

	(Scene four. The fair)

Miyabi: Daddy! Can you win me a teddy bear please?

Ranma: Well, I can try. (Ranma and Miyabi go over to Pirhana fish game.)

Akane: Sometimes, I swear that he spoils her rotten.

Daniel: It's only natural for a father to spoil their daughter especially when
the child is very young. You just have to make sure he doesn't go over board.

Akane: How do you know so much about children? Oh that's right Ukyo
mentioned you were a psychiatrist. But she never told me why you were in Japan. You do
not have certification to practice hear.

Ukyo: Now that you mention it. I never found out why you were in Japan.

Daniel: I like to travel and absorb myself in foreign cultures as much as
possible. You know like becoming one of the natives. I also always wanted to teach.
When I found out they needed someone to teach American literature and history in a
local high school for a year or two, I decided that the opportunity was too good to pass
up.

Akane: What makes you qualified to teach history and literature?

Daniel: I have bachelor's degrees in American history and literature. I did
not start studying psychology until graduate school.

Ukyo: Where did you go to school?

		Daniel: Brown and Yale Universities.

Akane: Yale? I always wanted to go to their Drama School. I was a
Theatre Arts major as an under grad and I planned to go study in America for graduate
school but (smiles sweetly) I kind of had to all in love along the way.

Daniel: How about you Ukyo? Where did you go to college?

Ukyo: I studied Art History at Tokyo university but I always knew that I
would make my living running an oknomiyaki restaurant for a living. I guess it runs in
my family's blood.

(Kuno rushes in and tries to attack Daniel with his Bokken.)

Ukyo: DANIEL, WATCH OUT!!!

(Daniel steps out of the way a little too late and gets hit in the side with the side of
Kuno's bokken but he does not notice the injury.

Kuno: Vile creature, I will not let you hurt the fair maiden Ukyo Kounji.
Prepare to die!! I the Blue Thunder of Nerima, Kuno Tatekwai will protect her!

Daniel (quickly dogging Kuno's attacks): Ukyo, who is the nut?

Ukyo: This is Kuno. He considers himself that protector and lover of
every single woman in Nerima. Don't worry, I can get rid of him.

Daniel: Don't bother. I can do it myself. (Daniel suddenly ducks and gives
Kuno a kick to the back of his knees. As Kuno falls to the ground, Daniel grabs him
quickly.) It is Ukyo's decision who she goes out with. NOT YOURS! You can't decide
for anyone except yourself. DO YOU UNDERSTAND?

Kuno: I only protect her from vile creatures, like you.

Daniel: Maybe, this will help you understand (Gives Kuno a roundhouse
kick, knocking him out.)

(Ranma and Mayabi enter, she is carrying a teddy bear.)

Mayabi: Daddy very strong. I want to be strong like Daddy! (Noticing
Kuno) Auntie Ucchan, knock out baka, Kuno again?

Ukyo: No honey, this time Daniel did it.

Daniel: It was really nothing. (Finally noticing the wound that Kuno gave
him, Daniel goes to his knees with pain.) Uh. I think he might have hit me.

Ukyo: We better get you to Dr. Tofu's. Do you think you can walk?

Daniel: Let me try. (Tries to get up.) No.

Ukyo: Let me help you. (Puts her arm around Daniel and helps him walk.
The group just exits the carnival when it starts to rain. Ranma suddenly becomes Ran-
chan.)

Mayabi (giggling): Daddy become Mommy Number two.

Daniel: Would someone please explain, why Ranma just turned into a
female?

Ranma (f): Uh, this is kind of hard to explain. You see when I was sixteen,
I was training in China with my pop in a placed called Jusenkyo.

Daniel: So, the cursed springs really do exist.

Ranma, Akane, and Ukyo (in shock): You know about the curses?

Daniel: I read about them in a book about Chinese folklore and magic
when I was in high school. I dismissed them as legends until right now. (Groaning in
pain) Can he get to the Doctor's quickly, please!

Ukyo: Of course, honey. (Thinking) I haven't called anybody but Ranma
honey. Am I falling in love, again?

(Scene five, one hour later, Dr. Tofu just finished examining Daniel.)

Dr. Tofu: Mr. Goldman, this injury should heal itself in a few days but I
want you to keep off this side for the next few weeks. Any pharmaceutical painkiller
should help to ease the pain.

Daniel: Thank you, Dr. Tofu. Let me get you my insurance information.

Dr. Tofu: Don't bother. Let this one be on the house. I do want someone to
help you get home however.

Akane: Ranma and I would love to help but we should get Miyabi home
and into bed or she will be cranky tomorrow. Say Ukyo, why don't you help Daniel-san?

Ukyo: Well, I don't know. I still need to clean up my place for tomorrow
morning.

Ranma: You can do that tomorrow morning. You open late on Saturdays.
Well we're going now. Good-bye everyone. (Ranma, Akane, and Miyabi leave.)

Ukyo: I guess, I will help you out Daniel. (Helps Daniel to his feet.)

Daniel: Merci, Madame (Ukyo giggles a little at Daniel's attempt at a
French accent.) and Arigato Dr. Tofu for helping me with the injury.

Dr. Tofu: You are most welcome, Good night. (Daniel and Ukyo leave.)

(Scene 6, Daniel and Ukyo are walking to his place.)

Ukyo: Thank you for fighting Kuno. You didn't have to do it you know.

Daniel: It was no problem, I wanted to help.

Ukyo: Yes but Kuno can be extremely possessive when it comes to
women, especially when they don't want his affection.

Daniel: Then he needs to learn that he can only control his own love life
not the love lives of others. Hey this is your place, isn't it?

Ukyo: Yeah, I guess it is.

Daniel: I think I can get home alone from here. Thanks for all your help.

Ukyo: I'd like to thank you also.

		Daniel: For what?

Ukyo: For helping me get over Ranma. (Throws her arms around Daniel
and gives him a deep, passionate kiss. Daniel puts his arms around Ukyo and begins to
kiss her back. They stand their for a while doing nothing but kissing.)
