Instant ki? attacks.

Not quite. I'm not 100% sure about this, but I beleive that Chi (or Ki) 
is basically a thing's spirit. A good example, as I beleive some one 
pointed out, is Ryoga's "breaking point" technique, in which he hits the 
center of a rock's chi and blows it apart (at least I think that's how 
he does it).
	The reason a person yells somehting when they attack it to help focus 
the chi when attacking some thing (fighters also do this when attacking 
regardless of using chi or not). What a person yells usually describes 
the move they are doing. Take Ranma's Kachu Tenshin Amagruriken, which 
is translated into "Chestnuts roasting on an open fire", which is 
basically the description of how the tecnique was taught to him.
