Yes, someone can say, "But I can do it better or at least different." I
did. But ideameisters aren't putting the work into actually writing the
story that validates a wild new idea like "What if Ranma was born a
girl" or "What if <lead character> died" or "What if all the good guys
were evil and vice versa". If all you are going to do is pitch an idea,
try to make it a new one. What if Lum was married to the Overfiend?
(Under the theory that she's supposed to marry the world's greatest
pervert) There's an idea nobody's written before. Done for laughs, it
could be good, and you just can't beat Urutsodoji Yatsura
for a title.
What if all the Inner Senshi died fighting Beryl and the Seven Shadows
had to fill the gap? What if Mason built a boomer copy of Sylia to
satisfy his obsession with her? What if Evangelion took place in the
the BGC universe and the EVAs were just big boomers? There are ideas
waiting to be written that haven't been written before, that aren't
totally nonsensical.
