Evangelion: New Fire
Prologue

"He was found in his room?"
"Yes... with just a letter left behind."
     "Who knows of this?"
"Only us two and the person who found him... she's being...
detained."
"Of course. Now what should we do?"
Fuyutsuki bowed his head. "Follow Ikari's orders, they are very
specific." He handed the letter to Ritsuko, who studied it carefully.
She turned her gaze to follow his, looking down at NERV
Headquarters through the thick plexiglass beneath their feet. "Can't
say that I liked the bastard... but his son is arriving today." She
looked up at Fuyutsuki again, "Such a shame."
The aged man nodded solomly, "Such a waste."

"Listen everyone! We have some disturbing news for you all."
Fuyutsuki stood up as Ritsuko finished quieting the group.
He coughed lightly and looked down at the assembled personnel of
NERV. "Yesterday, Commander Ikari Gendou was found dead in his room."
Various people around the Terminal gasped in surprise. Katsuragi
Misato, the new head tactician spoke up first, "What was the cause of
death?"
"Ritual suicide... and before you ask, the reasons for this
incident can not be disclosed. It was his final wish."
     "Who's are new commander? You?"
Fuyutsuki focused his attention entirely on Misato. She was a
curious one, wasn't she. "No, I am not taking command. As per former
Commander Ikari's orders a new commander has been chosen. It seems he
had someone he talked to quite frequently, and confided in even more so
than myself. He wished this person to take control."
Misato's brow furrowed, "Does this person have former experience?
Is he even military at all?"
Fuyutsuki began to sweat lightly. "Um, no... at least not until
yesterday."
Murmurs of disapproval began to circulate through the area. Misato
once again spoke for the group, "And you expect us to just follow this
person out of faith?"
     "Don't you have any faith?"
Misato blinked, not recognizing the voice that answered her. She
turned, to find herself facing a young man with brown hair. "W...
what?"
The man smiled softly, if not lazily, and looked Misato in the
eyes. "I asked if you had any faith."
Misato wasn't sure what to make of the person before her, but
decided to humor him for the time being. "Yes, as a matter of fact, I
do."
He stepped past her and began walking toward the Magi. Maya moved
out of his way, as he glanced briefly at her and smiled. He paused and
said, "Then you should have nothing to worry about."
Fuyutsuki looked at the man who was causing the disturbance below,
and blinked. "Commander?!" he cried.
The man smiled up at him and waved casually. He then proceeded to
leap up to grab onto the edge of Melchior and pulled himself up to the
top of the supercomputer. Once situated there, he looked down at his
new crew and announced himself, "Hello, I am your new commander. Justy
Ueki Tylor. Age twenty." He sat down crosslegged and smiled, "Any
questions?"
END PROLOGUE
Okay... okay... I'll admit, I just finished watching the newest tape of
Tylor. I love that show. I especially love the absent minded captain
whom the show is named for. As I was watching, I realized exactly how
much it would fit into Evangelion with a little tweaking. The humor
will still be there, but as sometimes in Tylor and mostly later in Eva,
there will be a seriousness to the story which will increase in
intensity as time goes by. Now, I have to go study Eva till I'm blue in
the face. Excuse me.... oh, and to make sure it won't be all in vain,
please send comments on whether or not you're interested. Thank you.
My other fics will still be written, mind you... I'm still trying to
find a computer to work on my main ones.
Thanks for reading,
