In a dark place, sits dark men, with dark purposes.

"Have the plans begun to remove the primary weapons of Hikari Gendo?"

"Yes sir the are scheduled to take place tommarrow beginning at noon."

"And all the backups?"

"Those as well sir."

"Very well I wish his weapons to be removed from our way. Destroy them after you have removed them from their cage."

"But sir? How can…."

"I really don’t care about the details but I do want them destroyed, is that clear?"

"Yes sir."

"Good. The rest of this meeting no longer concerns you."

In a place of happiness and beer sleep three very tired people. And a penguin.

Shinji awoke suddenly and looked out his window, "What was that?"

(Well two very tired people, and a penguin)

Shinji stares out the window for a moment, sure that some noise awoke him, after a few moments of staring out into the city he decides it was a dream and gets up, heading towards the bathroom.

"I can’t believe Dr. Akagi had us up doing synch tests so late last night. Sleep deprivation, ugh. It’s bad enough we have to run combat tests in the city tomorrow but to do it on three hours sleep."

Shinji reached the kitchen and flipped on the lights. As he proceeded to the sink his foot caught on something and sent him sailing to the floor.

He looked around, his eyes still half closed from exhaustion. Finally his eyes landed on what, no who, he had tripped on.

"Misato?"

The woman in question groaned slightly and curled up tighter against the jacket she was using as a blanket. Upon closer inspection Shinji noticed it was Kaji’s.

He stood to his feet and making his way around his sleeping guardian proceeded to pour himself a glass of water and get back to his room without any further incident. Once he was inside his room however it was another story.

His eyes went wide as he stared down at the sleeping form of his other female room mate, Asuka Soryuu Langly. She had crawled into his bed and curled up, the covers pulled tight around her.

Deciding that flight was more than appropriate he quickly and quietly rifled through his drawers and closet pulling out the required clothing and made his way to the bathroom where he quickly got dressed and made his way to Unit 1’s cage. Maybe he could get some sleep in the plug ht thought as the elevator doors closed on the yawning boy.

"Sorry Shinji Rei’s doing synch tests in Unit 01 this morning, you’ll just have to wait." Ritsuko calmly informed him.

"But Ritsuko, it’s four o’clock in the morning."

"Shinji there’s a couch in the break room if you need a place to sleep."

"Thanks Ritsuko."

Shinji turned his back on the head of scientific operations and made his way to the pilots break room.

"Baka Shinji, first he drags me into his bed last night and then he disappears for the class trip. Where is he?" Asuka muttered as she stood at the bus door.

This was to be the first school trip that she and Shinji were being allowed to go on. It was to the zoo which Asuka thought was kid’s stuff but at least they were getting out and doing something.

"Where is he?" Asuka said for what Hikari thought was the millionth time.

"Don’t worry Asuka, it’s not like this is your first date with him or something. It’s just a class trip. I’m sure he’s just staying here with Rei to keep her company." She said, trying to placate the girls worry.

"WHAT?!? HE’S STAYING HERE WITH WONDER GIRL AND YOU KNEW?"

Touji stuck his head out of one of the windows and ignoring common sense said, "What’s wrong Asuka isn’t your boyfriend here? Or is he just staying here with the love of his life?"

"Yeah he’s staying with Rei!" Kensuke jumped in.

Asuka took one look back toward the street and then stomped onto the bus.

"I don’t care what that idiot does anyway, he can spend the rest of his life with wonder girl for all I care."

The bus pulled away leaving an empty parking lot as the only thing for the upset red haired girl to stare at.

"Oh Shinji where are you."

Shinji struggled awake.

"Hmm, where am I?" he asked to himself as he looked around.

As he took in his surrounding he discovered that he was located in a warehouse. Soft light floated in through windows located twenty or so feet up. Water dripped slowly from pipes that had long ago needed replacing. A group of men dressed in army fatigues stood around a small table, all of them carried firearms.

A voice from behind him spoke just as something hard was shoved into the back of his head, "Don’t make any sudden moves third child or you and the first will be in a world of pain."

"First? Oh No!" Shinji’s eyes darted to the left and right of him and he saw a silhoutte crumpled on the floor to his left, "REI!"

Asuka listened as her classmates chattered inanely with each other, "Hmmph what a stupid thing, going on a field trip to the zoo. Who cares."

The bus began to decelerate slowly until it had come to a complete stop. Asuka heard one of the chaperones mutter something about roadblock and rose to step off the bus. The rest of the students had stood up to look outside so it was next to impossible for Asuka to take a good look at what was going on.

Suddenly a sharp rapport sounded and the students in the front began screaming and ducking behind their seats. Asuka was the only one left standing when the bus door opened again to allow a man dressed in camoflauge to enter. He held a large machine gun and he looked around at all of them.

"You are now our prisoners. Cooperate and you will not be harmed. Cause trouble and you shall be killed."

The bus began moving at the mans direction and Asuka returned to a sitting position. This was definitely not turning out as she had imagined it would.
