OK, this is the incomplete 1998 FFML Author Encyclopedia.
Do you know why it's incomplete ?
I lost the Susan Doenime entry !!!!!!!!
To the fellow who sent it in, please,please,on-my-knees-please,
send it to the FFML and put in the subject line that it's included.

A:Angel

Chris "God Boy" Angel, the lone entry at A is the writer of Siblings, Shieldsman,
Oh My Brother ! , Age of Evangelion, Mirai Muyo (You really should finish it Chris)
God's Toy and Turn The Page. He is also participant of CALF Production's SI
"Otaku Leap". Anyway, his works are quite good by my standards. I've constantly
reread his Shieldsman and Oh My Brother! series. He has the urge to put in new
characters that I suspect act alot like him.His works do not suffer from this little
quirk, but are enhanced by it. His works have that charm to them.

B:Becerra, Biles,Bartram,Beaubien,Barbra

Five entries in B

Ed Becerra is the author of Legion's Quest, one of the best SI's I've ever read.
I recommend to go to his webpage and get the entire series. His writing skills
are quite good, making his works quite an enjoyable read.

John Walter Biles is the author of such classics of fanfiction as Dance of Shiva,
Lemon Sherbet, Putting Your Heart in the Right Place and many others. He's
also got this cool WoT RPG on his page. Anyway, his skills at writing is
incredible. As Andrew Huang puts it,he is an "epic-weaver". His interweaving
of plot points and excellent writing skills make his works classics of the field.

Lara Bartram is the author of Kazuo's Kind, Wolf in Samurai's Clothing,Twisted
Destiny and quite a few unforgettable lemons. She is a very good writer and
I'll be constantly rereading her lemons for a long time. ~_^

Richard Beaubien is the author of two unforgettable Hime-chan No Ribbon fics and
the Eating Guide to the Silver Millenium. He is a masterful mood setter and as shown
by his fics quite flexible, skilled in both serious introspection and comedy.

Rob Barba is the author of Tales of Shampoo. Like Biles, he is an epic weaver,
able to get many plot points to weave into one whole. His work is very, very good.
Trust me, you'll forget the time while reading his fic as you are caught up in the
story.

C:Cheng,Cobb

Two entries for C

Donny Cheng is best known for his work on the Life and Times series, a real
big crossover which at the very heart has every unattached female in the anime
universe going after Ranma. Excellent style that blends humor and romance.

Henry J.Cobb is the resident Urusei Yatsura writer. His premiere work is in his
Oh My Goddess/ Urusei Yatsura fanfic ' Chaos and Death'. He is also a master
spamfic writer, matched only by Ryoucilo in skill of creating delightful little shorts.

D:Davies, Doherty,Dynon,DDFA,De la Merced

Five entries in D

Chris Davies is the author of the immense 'Together Again' saga and it's little
associated stories set in that continuity. Mr. Davies matches Biles in his skills
of plot weaving and saga creation. Also, like Biles, he is skilled in both script
and prose formats, capable of writing an engaging story in both.

Mark Doherty is the author of I'm Here To Help, Knights of the Saber, 100% Woman
and, I think his biggest work to date, Ryouga and Ukyou. Mark is a master of
characterization and his Emerald matches Frank Barr's Trenchcoat Mask and Chris
Angel's Crimson in my favorite original SM characters list. His works are quite a joy
to read and are excellent examples of character-driven plots

Andrew Dynon is the author of Operation Lightsphere, a Teknoman/Iczer crossover.
He is a good prose writer and has incredible skills in plotting, following the three C's
I outlined in ALSW. It is quite sad that his work is unnoticed because of the relative
obscurity of his subject series.

Dark Day For Anime is a newcomer and is the author of the controversial Usagi is
Dead series 1 & 2 along with the Barking Snout series, The Sailor Investigation Unit
and a really weird Monty Python/SM/whatchamacallit crossover I accidentally deleted.
The best I can describe of his style is something like Anno Hiddeaki and other like
minded individuals working together to make your brain explode. The UID series is
filled with blood, gore, violence and incredible amounts of stuff that could mess with
anyone's mind. And _that_ is a good thing. All of his works have his works have this
surreal feel to it that I personally like. Though his works have this tendency to make
anyone's head hurt, I recommend him for both skill and originality.

Florencio B. de la Merced is the author of Silly, Angelus Returnen Incarnatus,
The Son He Never Was, In My Life and The Legend Of El Hazard: The World Of
The Ancient Gods among others. A skilled writer, he can breathe life into plots that
would sometimes put me to sleep. His fics have that charm in them that makes
me want to read them again.

E:Eddy,Eades

Two entries in E

David Eddy is the author of Nekophobia , Second Time Around, Wild Child and that cute
little lemon, Careless Destiny. A very good author, especially skilled in crafting dialogue
and evoking emotion, his prose style is perfect for his works. He also makes a pretty
good lemon ! ~_^

James Eades is the author of Macho Cabballo, IMHO one of the best Original fic on the
FFML. He is a very good writer, as proven by the fact that I haven't fallen asleep or have
been tempted to delete his fic. I usually delete Original fics once I've read a little part of
it and doesn't pass my standards.James' fic passed with flying colors, something only
David Homerick, author of the Original fic Missy Foxglove has been able to do.

F:Fire

D. Fire is the author of Sword and Sorcery, a Ranma 1/2 fic set in a fantasy world of
elves and wizards. His work is a masterpiece of plotting and could be held up as a
prim example to an old writer's advice: the simpler the plot, the subtler the plotting.
A very admirable piece of work, the only disadvantage is he seems to have disappeared
and the series is not finished yet.

G:Gamlain,Gaffney,Gagne,Giroux

Four entries in G

Gamlain is the author of one of the most interesting SIs in FFML history, Youma Blues.
A very good writer in first-person POV, it helps considerably well in his writing of I think
the only SI in history where the author is ,well, a villain. Well, thought out series but he
really needs a prereader to help with the typos.

Sean Gaffney is the author of Won't Get Fooled Again, Complete Contol, Lucky and
another favorite SI of mine, Made Of Stone. Sean has a great skill in evoking emotion
in his writing which he uses effectively in all his stories. He is currently married to Hotaru
Tomoe-Gaffney and DJ for KCTF-the best radio station in Crystal Tokyo. ~_^

Stefan Gagne is the author some of the most hilarious fanfiction on the 'net.
His works include his writings for Spoofchase Productions like the Magical
Troubleshooting Crossover Fighting Tournament and his current work Slayers
Reflect, one of the few Slayer fics out there. His style is very humorous and
similar to Andrew Huang's, whose style I have described as Pratchetty. He is
,along with Ryoucilo, one of the funniest writers on the FFML.

Louis-Phillipe Giroux is the author of Lines Of Destiny, IMHO the best Ranma/SM
crossover out there. He is also author of Point of No Return, one of the few Lodoss
War fics out there and is planning on writing Differing Powers, a Ranma1/2/WoT
crossover. Louis is extremely skilled in the use of details and dialogue to advance
the stories he writes. His works are also examples of masterful plotting, something
that all writers , both fanfic and original, must possess.

H:Hedge,Huang,Harnum,Haney,Happosai,Handy,Holmes,Homerick,Helm, Hardy

 entries in H

Jeanne is one of the best-known pure BGC writers on the net. Her synopses
and work on the series have gained her public recognition in the BGC RPG by
R. Talsorian Games. Her writing style and character development match the
overall tone of the original series well, and her works tend to focus on
bringing out more of the character's hidden sides - the part that the OAVs
only seemed to hint at. One of her more...interesting works is True Love,
that shows Priss' and the Sabers' reaction to the sort of obsessed fans
celebrities have to deal with. - Entry by Chris Angel

Andrew Huang is the author of NeoGenesisEvanjellydonut and other very succesful
works on Evangelion. A very skilled writer, the best word to describe his style is
Pratchetty, since Terry Pratchett seems to have influenced his work a lot even in
his serious work.

Alan Harnum is the author of Waters Under Earth, a work that has the same effect on
me as one of Robert Jordan's WoT novels. His works are studies of excellent plotting.
He has the ability to keep the reader interested, curious of what is to happen to the
characters of history. He is also a master at creating images in your head, that will
last long after you have read his work.

Raymond Haney is the author of Hidden Talents. His works are excellent examples of
letting both emotions and character drive the story. His works are also quite excellent
examples for the beginning writer to study. I put in quite a few hours to dissect his works
in my home to see how they tick and I advise that beginners do this too.

Happosai is the author of Aikan Muyo. Yes, it's a lemon _but_ it's also a drama. The
lemon bits are just there ,I think, to spice things up. Emotions run rampant in the
story driving the story forward. Finely crafted dialogue helps in this, too. Beginners
should also examine this work then move onto Joseph Palmer's work for more ideas
on letting emotion drive the story.

Brett Handy is the author of Oh My God !, one of the best SIs on the FFML. The great
dialogue and the masterful plotting are incredible in that sense. Also like all writers Brett
makes you care for the characters, Brett even more so. His style's a bit like Chris Angel,
both having that incredible charm one can sense in their works.

Cory Holmes is the author of Home, IMHO one of the best Evangelion works on the FFML.
It is dark and depressing, but it is also a finely crafted piece of work. Cory has got plotting
and dialogue mastered. He is also skilled in evoking emotions and _making_ you care for
the characters.

David Homerick is the author of Missy Foxglove, which is the equivalent of Macho Cabballo
in the Original fic department. David's style is both emotion and character driven. You feel
for Foxglove. Yes, she's someone who kills magical girls but you just can't feel anything
than sorry for her. David's plot both makes us pity Foxglove and love her at the sametime.
Missy Foxglove and Macho Cabballo are the definite leaders in the field of Original fics.

Douglas Helm is the author of Mama's Hand and the Tales of the Younger Senshi series.
His style is similar to David Homerick in that they are both emotion and character driven,
Mr. Helm just does it for Sailormoon. Anyway, Helm is also a master at evoking emotion
and dragging the reader in by making you either care a lot more than usual for the
characters or hate them more than usual, as demonstrated in Mama's Hand.

Jessica Faith Hardy is the resident mistress of Blueseed and also starting a crossover
series Eternity's Tears. She is a very good writer, anyone who could get me interested
in an anime by just reading the fanfic is an impressive feat. She is skilled in keeping the
reader's attention and keeping them curious to find out what happened. Her style is definitely
improving

I: Ichinohei Hitomi

Ichinohei Hitomi is the author of "A Son's Duty" and several other fics,
most of which deal with trans-gender issues. She is a popular writer but
a controversial one, less so for her stories than for questions
regarding her real-life identity.-Entry by Gary Kleppe

J:Jones,Jamison, JLee100441

Three entries in J

Chris Jones is the author of Sailor Moon: Reversal, a Ranma /Eddings crossover Chaos
and Destiny and a few short fics. He is skilled at keeping the reader's attention on the story
and this has helped him well in his works. Also as far as I know he is the only person to
make a _good_ Eddings/Ranma crossover.

Scott Jamison is the author of Sauce, Worse and tons of other fics that I have faithfully
stored in my hard drive. SKJAM! as he prefers to be called is very skilled at writing
humorous pieces and most of his work has a comedic bent to it. He is also skilled
writing in both script and prose formats. He is also the progenitor of the revengefic, a
very amusing subgenre started by his story Sauce.

JLee100441 is the author of Alternate Future, A Better Future and Nodoka's Daughter.
His Alternate Future and Better Future are two of the best Ranma/NGE works on the
FFML and I recommend them for their incredible mixing of what are basically incompatible
series. JLee's writing style is most evident in Nodoka's Daughter, his ability of evoking
emotion and crafting dialogue evident in his work. He has also showed considerable
skill in plotting in all of his works. I also recommend him along with Raymond Haney for
beginning writers for work dissection.

K:Kleppe, Keener

Two entries in K

Gary Kleppe is the author of Lost, Pools of Horror, Cat's Prey, but most importantly is
the author of the Hearts and Minds series which has the biggest prelude in both original
and fanfiction. He is very good at evoking emotions and I also consider him as a master
of drawing the reader into a story. His works area sign of this, when he wants it depressing
then it's depressing if he wants it humorous it's humorous, his writing style is very flexible
as is his work.

Keener is the author of Suicide Blast. Though I think that is his lone work, it is a masterpiece
of evoking emotion and description. I recomment his work for beginners to study if they need
an example for an emotion fic.

L:Lurker, Loader,Lawson,Lord Archive,Lewis,Leifker,Lewis

Six entries in L

The Eternal Lost Lurker is the author of Onna:Red Side, They Call Him Mr.Happy and
other fics. A proficient and flexible writer, he is skilled in evoking emotions and has
incredible skill in drawing the reader into the story as attested by Onna: Red Side. He
is also a skilled plotter as the plotting in his stories show.

Mike Loader is the author of Smoke and Mirrors and many others. He is also coauthor
of Ill Met By Starlight, which I prefer to call 'The Psycho Ranma Fic'. Skilled in dialogue
and setting the atmosphere, he is also skilled in characterization as shown to us by his
work on Ill Met By Starlight. His style is also quite flexible as attested by his work on
several dark fics and his work on the funny Nameless Sequel.

Richard Lawson is the author of Thy Inward Love, Thy Outward Part, Magic and many other
Ranma fics along with a smattering of Nuku-Nuku fics along the way. Richard is a plotter
extraordinaire as shown by his TiL and ToP series. Also he is a master of evoking emotions
and characteriztion especially in his Kodachi/Ranma fic 'Roses of the Shadow'.

Lord Archive is the author of Rejected and many other Ranma fics, genres ranging from
Dark to Original Flavor. His writing style is flexible, all of his works having both emotion
and characterization driving the story forward.

Matthew Lewis is the author of Oracle, Ice Cream and other fics. His style is similar to
Lord Archive in the fact that he draws emotions from the reader and letting us care for
the characters. I recommend both of them to beginners for analysis as to how fanfics
tick.

Charles Lewis, author of the yet-incomplete Machina non Grata, a very gritty, dark
portrayal of the BGC universe that rivals Edgar Allan Poe's ability to shape words and
ideas into strange and macabre forms.-Entry by Damon Casale

Nicholas Leifker is the author of the Circe Project and other works. He is the undoubted
master of evoking emotion alongside Joseph Palmer, though Nicholas is more considered
with the darker emotions. An underlying sense of sadness is inmost of his works. I
recommend his works if you really want to be depressed or as reference on evoking sadness
in a darkfic.

M:Mackinnon, Macspon,Masters

Three entries in M

Mark Mackinnon is the author of the Shadow Chronicles, a huge Ranma 1/2 saga. He is
on par with the other Ranma 1/2 saga writers as Rob Barba and Krista Perry. His works
are filled with emotion filled scenes and splendid characterization. He is also a master of
plotting as evidenced by the subplots and twists in his work.

Angus Macspon is the author of Autumn and Spring and Sailormoon 4200. His works are
filled with emotion and excellent characterization. His Autumn and Spring is a classic of
emotion and skilled plotting, another fanfic that I recommend beginning fic writers to study.

Phillip Masters is the author of many fics in my archives that tolist them all would take all
my time. His style is obviously very flexible as his works shift genres like crazed wombats.
Masterful emotions and excellent characterizations mark his work I also recommend him
to the beginners as an example for fanfic writing.

Megane 6.7 (Warren Casper) is best known as the author of a hilariously
funny series of fanfiction MSTings, Mystery Science Theater 6.7. His
other stories are also well worth reading. They include character-based
dramas like "A Day in the Past," as well as lemons.-Entry by Gary Kleppe

N:Neef,Nelson, Noakes

Two entries in N

Brent Neef is the author of Ranma's Curse and Ranma's Memories, two of the most amazing
pieces of Ranma fanfiction I've ever read. His works are masterpieces of using emotions to
drive the story forward. Along with excellent plotting these two works are classics of Ranma
fanfiction.

Curtiss Nelson is the author of Night Sabers. It is the only excellent World of Darkness/anime
fusion I've read ( I do not count John Biles' Kodachi Elseworld since it's too goofy). Curtiss is
also a master of setting atmosphere and has an eye for detail that most fanfic writers cannot
match.

Michael Noakes is the author of the "Choices" series, as well as many
other stories. He is noted for exceptional prose skill and compelling
character drama, as well as for taking extremely large amounts of time
to finish his fics.- Entry by Gary Kleppe

O:Olsen,Oliver

Two entries in O

Chris Olsen is the author of A Different Viewpoint. Yes, a beginner work and ,as Chris insisted,
an SI. It is nicely plotted and excellently uses characterization to forward the plot. It is one of
_the_ beginner works. I mean _the_ in the sense that it as an example of an excellent beginner's
work along with Tonbo's The Plan. Beginners are expected to take a look at this to pick up a few useful tips on writing fanfics.

Peter J. Oliver is the author of Nuke 'em till they Glow, IMHO the greatest SM spoof of all time.
Peter has an excellent hand for humor and has excellent characterization skills as proved by
several of his characters: The Atomic Starlight Knight, Arby the Arbyfish, Paracyte and Terra
Incognita. Also a master hand at plotting, he uses it to good use in creating very humorous
scenes, poking fun at various things, from SM to Monty Python.

P:Palmer,Perry

Two entries in P

Joseph Palmer is the author of the Season Series and the Colors series. His works are the
epitome of emotion. His style definitely fits his chosen genre, the WAFF. Emotion and
atmosphere are excellently crafted by him in his fics. Another recommended for beginners
to study for emotion.

Krista Perry is the author of Hearts of Ice, one of the best Ranma 1/2 stories I've ever read.
She is the mistress of the literary concept of urgency or as the laymen call it 'The Cliffhanger'.
Also skilled in plotting , characterization and evoking emotion, Hearts of Ice is a masterpiece
of all three.

Q:

No entries

R:Ryoucilo,Rao,Rogers,RpM

Four entries in R

Ryoucilo is the author of so many fics that I can't count all of them. His fics are usually
shorts that don't go over 30-40 kb. What's special about Ryoucilo is his ability to make
sick, disgusting and sometimes totally perverted fics and still manage not to reach the
Oscar level. Heck, some of it is even downright excellent, and all of them are funny as
hell.

Anand Rao is the author A Stained Glass Mind, For the Children and the Kasumi/Ranma
fic which I forgot the title. His style is emotion driven, evoking atmosphere and emotions
in such a way that you become entranced with the story.

Christian Rogers is the Flashman, author of TRIO, The FFML Royal Rumble and other fics.
His work to say the least is action-packed, a roller coaster ride of emotions, character and
battle scenes that some authors would sell their brothers for. His style draws you in to the
story, enhancing their enjoyment value and readability.

RpM is the author of The More Things Change and The Pursuit of Happiness and other
fics. He is also best known for creating Ryo Muhoshin, undoubtedly one of the most
popular character in anime fanfiction. His style has the ability to be flexible, able to
evoke both joy and despair when necessary.

S:Solathei,Skuse,Seawright,Sommer,Sandborn,Skuse, Stormwalker

Five entries in S

Stormwalker, aka Douglas Reeves, author of Bubblegum Collision and Bubblegum
Collapse, is an excellent darkfic writer. Putting the cyberpunk back into Bubblegum
Crisis, he explores and develops the characters of all four of the Knight Sabers, in
the midst of massive chaos and destruction.-Entry by Damon Casale

Sailor Solathei is the author of Children of Jenova, the best FF7 fanfic on the FFML. She
is very skilled in plotting as shown by her fic. She also has the ability for excellent
characterizations that make reading her fics a great joy.

Andy Skuse is the author of Bubblegum Cross. He's written a decent story, managing
to weave new elements seamlessly into the canon BGC that we know and love. Blackie,
Sylia's "boomer" brother, is one of the best original characters I've seen to date (in a BGC
fic, that is). Priss' usual, rather shallow stormy disposition is developed and deepened
into something three-dimensional and living. It's good reading if you want to learn how to
develop your characters well. -Entry by Damon Casale

Caroline Seawright is the author of Ranma Nibunnoichi, making her my favorite lemon
writer. She is very skilled in writing emotions and feelings as evidenced by her work
on the lemons and as attested by her new non-lemon Red Dwarf work, Death Is Not
The End.

D.B. Sommer is the author of Shampoo 1/2, one of the best Ranma alternate histories
on the FFML. He is skilled both evoking emotions and setting the atmosphere for the
fic. He is also a master plotter as evidenced by the roller coaster ride that Shampoo 1/2
is.

Greg Sandborn is the author of Nabiki:New Horizons. His style has the ability to create
vivid scenes and evoke emotions. Also, his masterful characterizations and magnificent
plotting makes his work one of the classics of fanfiction.

Andy Skuse, author of Bubblegum Cross. He's written a decent story, managing to weave
new elements seamlessly into the canon BGC that we know and love. Blackie, Sylia's
"boomer" brother, is one of the best original characters I've seen to date (in a BGC fic,
that is). Priss' usual, rather shallow stormy disposition is developed and deepened into
something three-dimensional and living. It's good reading if you want to learn how to
develop your characters well.-Entry by Damon Casale

T:Tatum,Teknos Warhammer,Tiger,Thompson,Tsai,Tonbo,Toler,Tai

Six entries to T

David Tatum is the author of many fics having at least one person named Desaix in the
cast. That's a distinct trait of his work, just a little nit. Anyway, he is skilled writer and
all of his works are examples of good plotting. He also has the ability to evoke strong
emotions which he uses to great effect in some of his fics.

Teknos Warhammer is the author of what I shall call the Teknoman shared universe since
he managed to weave Ranma 1/2,Sailormoon, Evangelion and others into the Teknoman
universe. That achievement is a tribute to his skill in plotting and characterization.

T.H. Tiger is the author of Shikinma Interface,Tench and Ranma: Together Forever and
other fics. He is a very skilled writer as shown by his works, which are masterpieces
of plotting and crafting dialogue.

Jeremy Thompson is the author of Lost and Forgotten, one of the most innovative SIs
I've ever read. His style is very good at setting atmosphere and creating vivid scenes.
This SI is innovative in that Jude, Jeremy's character is an absolutely normal and sane
fellow. You don't see those in SIs much, nowadays.

Stephen Tsai is the head author of Kimagure Orange College and Bishoujo No Senshi
Sailor Ranma. He is a skilled writer in the script format, which I should say is much
harder than it looks. His style is also eminently suited for both. His work is something
I advise beginners to study if they want to make script format stories.

Tonbo is the author of The Plan. He is a very good beginning writer. That is why advise
other beginners to take a look at The Plan to get a few more tips on writing fanfics.

Cindy "Yoiko" Toler has written a variety of fics, including "The Blood
is the Life," "The Trouble With Truffles," and "Heart of the Warrior."
She is a skillful writer who intermixes doses of real-life situations
into her work.-Entry by Gary Kleppe

David Tai is the founder of Daigokuse no Ranma, as well as a few other
stories. He also co-wrote with RpM on Dire Fates. He is a marvelous
writer and very skilled. Heck, anyone who worked with RpM and the guys
in DnR must be good ! His style blends seamlessly with the other writers.

V:Van Vliet

Bert Van Vliet is technically off the FFML, but I asked him and since he was formerly
part of it and his work is definitely a classic, I decided to include him anyway. Bert is
known for ,IMHO one of the greatest SI work on the net, The Bubblegum Zone. Hell,
each chapter is big enough for a short novel and along with the fact that there are currently
nine of these and one on the way, a newcomer will be reaing for quite awhile. And trust
me Bert's work is an exciting read. He is a master of plotting as shown by his work, which
I compare to a belt of firecrackers. He is also the writer of some of the most riveting battle
scenes, which are strewn liberally across his work as attested by the tons of boomer and
hardsuit parts that get blown to bits each installment.

W:Willmore, Wong,Wilde,Williams,Wilde

Five entries to W

Chris Willmore is the master writer of Ranma 2096, IMHO one of the best ongoing Ranma 1/2
fanfic series on the net. I don't know if he's a member but I've seen 2096 stories posted to the
ML so I might as well. Anyway, all of Willmore's fics are quite ......interesting. His writing style
is also quite nice and he is also the master of making memorable characters as evidenced by
the very ....memorable.... cast of Ranma 2096 ranging from ghost and very psychotic Gosungkugi
descendants.

Jeffrey Wong is better known as Oneshot. Mr. Wong is an example of extremes. When his fics
are good, they are really good. When they're bad, they're really bad. It's quite fortunate that he
usually churns out the good fics more often. Prime example is his greatest work to date, Ranma's
Girls. Now that is a definite must-read for anyone out there. It's as big as a decent novel and it
would be worth your time to go down to his website and download it.

J. Austin Wilde is the author of Ranma Goes to War and it's sequels, Once More Into The
Breach and Chasing The Wind. He is one of the best saga writers I've ever read along with
Rob Barba of 'Tales Of Shampoo' fame. His works are definiote must reads and are also
masterpieces of plotting and characterization, particularly the character Hiro Ohata which
is another memorable new character which I rank alongside Ryo Muhoshin in
unforgetableness.

Entry by J. Austin Wilde:
Bridget Engman Wilde. I know what you're thinking, he's biased because she's his wife. Fair enough.
But consider this: Bridget and I lived about 5,000 miles apart when we first met. Through fanfiction. A
mutual love for each other's work that grew into a mutual love for each other. If you doubt Bridget's
prowess as an evocative writer of fiction, I ask you to read "Flambe!" For an example of her playful
eroticism, thumb through the short but sweet "Shizuku." To witness the fruits of her efforts in crafting
the uniquely captivating world of Heian Period Japan and what a modern Ranma Saotome does when he's trapped there, read "Monogatari."
I tease her mercilessly for taking all day to write one or two paragraphs when in my own works I crank
out the pages. The fact is I'm jealous of her ability to turn out an exquisitely crafted work of fiction. Her stories are well plotted. Her characterizations are right on target. The technical aspects of her writing
are beyond reproach. Her grasp of humor in the Ranma 1/2 millieu is so frighteningly close to Takahashi's that sometimes I scratch my head and wonder if she did any ghost writing for the dear little lady across the sea. Quite frankly, this woman amazes me, and more still I am amazed that more people haven't heard much of her. "Old Timers" on the ML mostly. It might have something to do with
the dearth of works posted in the last 18 months, but that's how it goes. - I totally agree with Mr. Wilde's estimation of his wife's writing skills, I also advise you to get her work.

Tim Williams is the author of the Rebound Effect. Mr. Williams is a very good writer
and is also a skilled plotter. His fic is an example of this, though it may seem hazy
at first but it is a very good plot overall. The Rebound Effect is another work that I
advise beginning fic writers to read if you want to get tips for your writing.

Y:Yaple

Brian Yaple is the author of Destiny's Path, a very, very big crossover. The thing about
Mr. Yaple is his work kinda reminds me of Davies' "Together Again" saga. The writing
style is different but I still have that feeling. Anyway, Yaple is skilled in his own way.
The only way to describe him for me is "Cris Davies Lite". But I like Yaple since he
doesn't put that much pain on his characters. Yeah he hurts his characters but he
really can't match Davies in the emotional torture department. I also recommend him
to beginning writers for pointers in plotting and characterization.

Z:Zen, Zu

Two entries to Z

Zen is the author of The Bitter End.There are others but this is Zen's claim to fame.
If you doubt me, read it and I dare you not to be depressed or have dreams of
katanas and blood. Blood ! Blood ! It's on me ! Get it off ! Get it of- er......... sorry, had
to reread it for analysis. Anyway, The Bitter End is and always will be the DARKFIC.
Zen's writing style is very good at evoking emotion and characterizations. Zen uses
this with great skill in The Bitter End. He makes _you_ involved, making you want
to step in and do something, you feel it. It is a testament to his writing skill that
The Bitter End is the fic that it is.

Nikholas Toledo Zu. Let me explain this entry. There are over a dozen guys and gals who
share the name. Anyway, some of them have written very good works of fanfiction. Let
me state those that come into my mind. ' Angel's Chronicles' is a very good piece of
fiction, even though some people still think it's an SI. Well, maybe a little but it's still some
piece of work. 'The Leper' which the author openly claims to be a partial SI, is another
very good piece of work. 'Memories', a rather weird but very hilarious piece of work with
cameos from other anime series. I can also name a few other memorable fics. These
guys are in the overall very good writers. I also recommend them to beginners for getting
pointers in writing style.

The fanfic analysis has been discontinued because of time constraints and
the fact that I'm saving it for the next time I get writer's block.

' Writers are the torchbearers of civilization. We're set in a corner only we
can illuminate. Some of us are searchlights, able to cast a beam into the
far reaches of the human soul. Some of us are candles , barely able to
