This is a fanfic and is not for making money or profit. * Please don't sue me, I haven't any money .- Book 1, Chapter 1: "Atros" For Ranma it was just another typical day, he had been hammered by Akane four times, Kick-dropped Kunou twice, forced to pay money to Nabiki three times, and glomped by shampoo once on the way to school. Just another average day for Ranma. Or so it started. "Just ONCE I would like to get through a day without the constant 'affection' of my friends" grumbled Ranma to himself. Walking home from school Ranma followed a short distance behind Akane. He couldn't believe how she could still be so mad at him for Shampoo's attention earlier that day. She almost glowed with a dark Ki aura that indicated her anger. "Man, what else can go wrong today?" Ranma asked himself. The yellow dwarf star that had grown in her sight for the last week marked the end of a long journey. Her speed was so great that it could only be measured in light years per hour. Unfortunately she did not possess enough power to decelerate below light-speed. Because of this she chose to 'cheat' instead. Using her power to travel between dimensional spaces, she opened a hole into a universe where the laws of physics operated differently. The interaction between her high speed and those alien laws caused a short lived, but very violent interaction between space-time(1) and space-time(2). The end result was a sharp loss of inertia and the resulting loss in speed. A fiery explosion erupted in the outer edge of the Solar system. The flare of light and blast of heat were the equal to the use of 10,000 nuclear bombs. The shockwave vaporized 5% of the asteroid belt and disturbed the orbits of another 15%. At the time of the explosion the earth was on the opposite side of the sun. Astronomers and scientists would speculate on a wandering piece of anti-matter encountering a comet. Others would shrug and not care at all. After all, what could an explosion way out there have to do with real world? Her speed finally down to something she could easily manage, Atros began the final approach to earth. Using the soul link that she had established a year ago, she directed herself to her goal. During the year long journey to this star system, Atros had begun the long process of re-integrating her long term memory. The process was slowed by the need to conserve what energy she had, while also rebuilding her physical body. This combined with keeping a low-level tele-empathic link with her bond partner, occupied most of her journey. The discovery that she already had the native planetary languages imprinted in her memory caused some amazement. Somehow this world in another universe was linked to the world of Nagisa. The knowledge she acquired through her link with Ranma was the same in many ways as the knowledge from the mind of Iczer-3. When Neos Goldo created Atros it duplicated the mind and abilities of Iczer-3. This included Iczer-3's Cthulos Data Matrix which contained all known info on Terra, its languages, culture, and Tech Level. Some of this info conflicted with Ranma's world, but the similarities were amazing. Upon reaching Earth's outer atmosphere Atros began using her bond link with Ranma to find a landing zone. She was suprised to discover that the link was coming from two different locations. One link carried emotions and information, while the other supplied most of the strange energy she had used for the last year. Wanting to trace the source of energy first, she chose the large land mass called China. To be more exact, a small valley filled with many springs. Atros landed lightly on her feet in the middle of the Valley. In every direction were numerous pools of water with poles in the middle. Near the entrance to the Valley was a small shack. It was the middle of the night and any humans would probably be asleep. Fortunately she could see easily, senses capable of adapting to literally thousands of climates and more than a hundred different types of gasses, liquids, energy fields, plasmas, and even interphased dimensional states had little problem with a little darkness. Extending her senses downward she traced the flow of water from the pools to a small body of water deep under a nearby mountain. A unique intersection of three different dimensional fissures in the fabric of space-time energized and heated the water. The first dimension was magic in origin and was close to collapse and heat-death, it would last only another few thousand years before collapsing. The second dimension was one of the rare matrix universes where the laws were polarized towards Chaos and Law instead of Good and Evil. The third universe was a negative entropic universe where everything was static and change seldom occured. The unusual mixture of the energies from these three universes had created a strange zone of magic combined with either entropic Law or static Chaos. The side effects literally caused a violation of this universes standard Laws. Shaking her head Atros approached the one pool that her bond link seemed to come from. "So this is the pool that Ranma fell into". Hopefully this pool could solve the one problem that she faced with being near Ranma, human fear. Although she looked like a human child of twelve, her ears, large eyes, and other odd proportions would cause humans to treat her differently. This pool could solve that. Jumping into the pool, Atros felt the energy in the pool change her into the form of the being who's life force had energized the Nega-Entropic Matrix of this pool. Reaching out she allowed herself to gorge on the magic rich energy, feeling full and healthy for the first time in her new memory. Climbing out of the pool was easy, dealing with her changed body was not. Using a small amount of her power, she altered her battle uniform into a matrix that allowed the appearance of human clothes when in cursed form, but would return to normal when she was in her Cthulos body. One disadvantage was quickly discovered in her human form, lacking the needed secondary neural system she usually employed, she could not fly, warp, teleport, or creates a defensive energy barrier. The abilities that carried over did include her Cthulos meta-human strength, enhanced reflexes, energy bolts, and energy blades. Thinking it would be best to practice being human before meeting Ranma, Atros left the Valley of Cursed Springs feeling in control of her life for the first time. End of Chapter One.
