I've always thought a big part of Akane's problem with Ranma is that her
ego is almost as large as his.  She _has_ repeatedly beaten Ranma when
magically enhanced, but she doesn't take being defeated (or being told
that she's out of her league) any better than Ranma does.

As far as adjusting to the Street Fighter circuit, one of Ranma's defining
characteristics IMO is his adaptability.  BTW, Akane giving pointers to
Ranma in an earlier chapter really seemed OOC (for both of them) to me.
