No, they never, ever, say anything remotely like this in the Anime.  The
Angels *are* trying to get to Adam to evolve to a "higher state".  This
would create a Third Impact, and that is something Gendou, NERV, and
SEELE want to avoid.  

One thing to remember about Evangelion is that Angel, in the Japanese
version, are called Shito.  Shito, translated, means Diciple.  Not
Angel.  ADV merely used "Angel" to give the show a religous spin on it,
since it had so much of it all ready.  

Is there some kinda motif to these Angels attacking? Like in a biblical

sense?

How are they detected....before they attack?

Aperently Nerv has satalites that can detect if an entity has a blue
pattern (which has something to do with blood....)

Nah.  They just have sensors for detecting them.

It's Lillith.  And she's not an Angel.

I'd say the Apocolipes but that requires all four horsemen, not a few

*bonks head up against the wall*  No.  Supossedly, if the Angel come's
in contact with Adam, the Angel with evolve to a higher state.  This
would be potentially dangerous to humanity.  How, I have no idea.
